Oh my god! Oh no he didn't. How could he play her like that? How can he be so mean? What the hell! He even took the freaking phone. NOOO! I had his new name picked out and everything. Damn.
We love to root for the underdog. We love to root for the woman. We all do. Except Arnav Singh Raizada. The man roots for himself to win and has done from Day 1. Challenges are thrown at him and he faces them. Not unlike our Khushi. She manipulates from the gut with emotions (come on people, be honest, Khushi does this albeit with a smile and her cute bubbliness, but she does this) and ASR does it with his fangs and his calculation of faida and nuksaan. They are both two sides of the same coin. She throws a challenge, he throws a consequence. It's a battle of wills. And it has been this way since the beginning on June 6th, when he played his Chacha. What did he say - Arnav Singh Raizada never misses his target as he took Sheesh Mahal from him right under his nose.
It was a great little lesson from the CVs reminding us who this man is and will always be - even under the lovely fairy lights of Arnav's influence - this is Arnav Singh Raizada. The name will stay the same, as will this aspect of this man. ASR ran down their past challenge outcomes to Khushi on the phone. The man keeps score. Today's episode reminded me immediately of when Khushi signed the contract to work at AR, and he said 'Welcome to Hell', except today he said 'Welcome Home'.
Calculating business man (who the CVs are showing to not even investigate the terrace scene for even a minute - I freaking want to get a hold of GH and LM and cut them). He didn't give Akash divorce papers to sign. He loves Akash. He is playing dimaag games with Khushi. If she would stop and think, she would have said 'Jiju, how can you sign divorce papers' - and then the whole damn thing would have blown up in ASR's face. But she jumps to conclusions (sound familiar?? how much are they alike!). Arnav Singh Raizada in all his cold calculating glory is back...on screen...because he really actually didn't go anywhere.
I think the CVs are doing this on purpose. They are highlighting his absolute ruthless nature with Khushi (and also diluting his character with the sleeping arrangements). The same tactic they used to show how soft and tender they portrayed him right before the terrace scene -so we could see the stark difference. It is going to show us from which depths of emotional darkness Arnav has to crawl out of to get Khushi back because I have no doubt - especially given all the foreshadowing - when the truth comes out, she will not be there and his path to redemption will be paved with broken glass.
If Khushi has to really love this man, she has to come to terms with all of him. Even this dark side. She cares for him, she pushes all his wrong buttons and she is emotionally stronger than him. When she understands this side, and learns to return the love with interest as her saas wrote, she will fully be Khushi Singh Raizada (I left out the Kumari on purpose because really, when she's fully into him, and he her, I don't think the name will be appropriate 😉)
