Why would Arnav think that Khushi wants Shyam in her life at the cost of Anjali's marriage? Here are some of the flashbacks which can convey a wrong signal to him.
The Rangoli scene
As I had said in my symbolic analysis at that time, the elaborate rangoli symbolised wedding arrangements. At the time, I thought it would be Khushi-Shyam wedding but now it appears to signify Aakash-Payal wedding.
If you recollect that scene, Anjali catches Khushi muttering to herself and asks her about it. Thoughtlessly Khushi says that she was thinking about her wedding. Arnav who was standing on the stool nearby had a priceless expression hearing this. Khushi realised what she had just blurted out and hastened to change it to thinking about Anjali's marriage. At the time, Arnav seemed relieved to hear that Khushi was only curious to know how his sister got married and was not getting married herself. Now looking back, if Arnav were to recollect this scene he may wrongly conclude that Khushi was genuinely interested in his sister's marriage because she was planning to break it since then.
Coming to the symbolism of Arnav's fall soon after Anjali left, at that time I felt Arnav would accidentally come to know of Khushi's wedding and may land right in the middle of it much like how he fell on the rangoli. Now it appears that he has accidentally come to know about Shyam's love for Khushi and Khushi's apparent keenness to break his sister's marriage. When he falls, he inadvertently drags Khushi with him. As I said then, this shows that he will drag Khushi with him and they will be smeared in the colour of wedding (yellow and red), meaning that he may hastily marry her and thereby protect her from Snake Shyam although that was not his primary intention which is to save his sister's marriage. The rest of my interpretation of the scene as given below may then hold.
Khushi may get emotionally squashed by him (much like how her hand got caught under him) as he misunderstood her. Finally she will be freed only after he realises how much he was hurting her and releases her on his own. Once she is freed, she herself will approach him to wipe away the colour (yellow which is symbolic of marriage) from his neck. Maybe she will offer to free him from their marriage. He will, however, stop her from doing so because her hand was smeared with pink. Now pink is the colour of love. Knowing how much she really loves him, he may want to continue staying married to her.
The Gupta House scene where the Raizadas come to ask Payal's hand in marriage
Buaji is keen to introduce Khushi's fiance to the Raizadas much to the discomfort of both Khushi and Arnav. Arnav has his gaze fixed on Khushi as she goes to Shyam's room and hesitates in front of it for a few moments before she knocks on it. If he recollect this scene he may think that she was hesitant to reveal her fiance's true identity because she knew that he was Anjali's husband.
The RM Hall Scene After Khushi comes to know of Shyam's ugly truth.
Now in this scene which comes right after Khushi bumps into Arnav near the pool in a distraught state and indirectly implied that her fiance was responsible for it, Khushi looked distinctly uncomfortable when she was introduced to Shyam as Anjali's husband and Anjali stood clinging to him while the rest of the family were heaping praises on him. Arnav was closely watching her expressions. At the time he did not understand why she was disturbed. Now looking back, he may presume she was upset because she may have just confronted Shyam minutes before to demand that he leaves Anjali and seeing him so close to his wife, she could not take it and that is why she abruptly left.
Although there are several instances which clearly proves Khushi's innocence in the Shyam matter, the problem is when Arnav is angry he does not think clearly and rationally. Arnav may well recollect the scenes which I listed above which can be misinterpreted to fit into what he just heard from Khushi's mouth at the terrace.
The question would be how long will he misunderstand Khushi. If he voices his doubts, Khushi can well explain her position to him but I fear that the guy may not openly admit that he was all set to make his love declaration when he had overheard them in the terrace. I think he may make it seem like he had deliberately fooled Khushi into believing he was interested in her while all along he only wanted to take revenge against her for messing with his sister's life. This could confuse, trouble and sadden Khushi who may retaliate in anger at being so used. The tussle between these two can lead to some hot, intense and passionate scenes as the two are torn between love and hate. As I said when she finally understands what is hurting him she may clear the air and decide to leave him although he would stop her, having realised his own mistake by then.
