Hey guys! This is my new fan fiction, Its a thin line between Love and Hate. This is only the first part. Be sure to comment and tell me what you think! Oh and please let me know if you find grammatical errors or anything. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to those. đ
Drip. Drip. Drip.
It was raining outside, casting an eerie feeling around the temple where he, correction, they, were standing. The pandit was talking about how it shouldn't rain on Diwali. According to the panditji, this was a bad omen, but Arnav did not believe in that religious crap nor did he care. He only cared for his Di. That was the main reason he was here with this gold-digger in the first place, about to go against all the rules he had made for himself. I have to make this sacrifice for Di's sake. I can't let this gold-digger of a girl succeed in her plans to turn my Di's life upside down. He kept repeating the same sentence over and over in his head, like a mantra. How could she? He thought. And here I was, thinking that maybe, just maybe, I misjudged her. But no, I was right about her from the start. She had eyed my money from the day she saw me. This was all a part of her plan. Then why? Why did his heart defy his brain? Why did his heart not believe what his brain was telling him? Get a grip. This was all her plan. She never cared for you. It was all pretentious! She has lured you into her trap. Just look at her, acting all scared and looking like you have an effect on her. This is probably one of her schemes as well. Well she is about to be in for a real treat if she thinks the joke is on me. He thought smugly to himself. She doesn't know what is about to hit her.
"KHUSHI! Snap out of your silly day dreams and hurry the hell up!" He roared. "Di has sent us here to give some offerings to the poor since it's Diwali. So let's just get this over with." He grumbled. Stupid Laad Governor and his mood swings. I swear, he is on his man-period. But they only have those once a month, right? So why does he act like he has them every day? Must be one of the side effects of the black magic. I need to cure this as soon as possible, but how? She was in a mental debate with herself while they made their way inside the temple. Each step she took felt heavy for some odd reason. It was like Devi Maiya was trying to tell her something. But what? What is it that feels so wrong? Its probably the weather. She thought, and ignored the uneasy feeling taking place in the pit of her stomach while she bowed her head to pray. Hai Devi Maiya, please cure my babuji. I can't take this anymore. Give me his pain but make his pain go away. Make him better, exactly like I had seen him before I went to Nainital. Happy and healthy. Just then lightening struck, making her eyes snap open with fright. Oh my god. I hate thunderstorms. She thought as she turned around to meet Arnav near the temple steps, he was so stubborn, and refused to actually come INSIDE the temple. Whatever. He will have to face God one day. What she didn't realize however, was that he was right behind her, and so that is how she bumped right into him in the process of turning around after saying her prayer. "Where do you think you're going?" He asked. His eyes were back to the same cold ones she should be used to by now. Cold and Empty. Gone was the twinkle she had been very slowly getting accustomed to. Him and his man-periods. She grumbled to herself. I shouldn't expect happiness and twinkle in the eyes of someone who doesn't even expect it from himself. Urrrgh! Stop thinking about him Khushi! She was mentally slapping herself silly and jumped almost 2 feet in the air when she felt Arnav's hand wrap around hers. What is this Laad Governor doing? She thought as she gazed down at their hands, a confused look on her face. She was trying to ignore the tingles shooting up her arm and all throughout her body. Just because of a mere touch! Why oh why does he have this effect on me?!
Arnav grabbed Khushi's hand and dragged her right in front of the Devi Maiya statue. His actions seemed almost robotic. Like he knew what he was doing and had rehearsed this plenty of times. He didn't even think twice while grabbing some sindoor that was laid near the statue, and filled Khushi's maang, an act he was so against a few weeks ago, still is. This doesn't mean anything, It had to be done given the circumstances we are under. He gave himself a little pep talk for motivation and finally looked down from her now red maang, into those hazel eyes he thought to be beautiful a few days ago. "Wha- what?! How dare you?!" She shrieked. This was not a reaction he'd been hoping for. He figured she'd be jumping for joy. After all, she got what she wanted, what she was after, his wealth. "Just what do you think you're doing??! Do you even know what you did?! YOU FILLED MY MAANG! Do you know what that even means?!" She was dry sobbing by now, and they were starting to get an audience. "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" He roared to all the nosey bystanders, which were not many, due to this ugly weather. And as expected, everyone scurried off, while he watched her intently. Trying to figure out why she was upset. She should be happy damn it! She got what she wanted, right? Then why the hell is she crying?
He filled my maang. How could he? What was he thinking? What does this even mean? Why did he do this? Where does this leave us? And why does HE look so surprised? I'm the one that should be surprised! She had so many questions running through her brain at once, but one stood above all, the one that she knew the answer to, but at the same time, she didn't. She gulped. Does this mean...we're...we're...married?!
