Sorry Anu, can't defend ODB here...Sush has picked on a very cogent point here...this guy is totally self-absorbed...he is reminded of Khushi in every instance where he is involved...when his feelings/conscience have been aroused (red sari), challenged ("hum Lucknow jaa rahen hai", speech), pricked (guest house scene where she faints and the hurt on her wrist). But he never remembers her protestations of innocence or her pleadings to let her go.
As Zain said, he is "selfish, arrogant, pig-headed prick"...and that is why three quarters of the forum loves him so😆😆...our dear dear Bad Boy!!😊

I have never ever defended his action at their first meeting where he tore her dori. It was totally over the line and it was the only instance where she asked him to let her go vocally - except when she asked for him to let go when she fell out the window, which he obliged (like the devil that he is). I do not disagree that he is self absorbed, I am saying that he demonstrates this behavior with everyone. Everyone puts up with it for different reasons, just not Khushi.

Additionally, after the guest house incident, we were never given a chance to see the boss/employee dynamic and how it evolved. They have not had a conversation since she served him the resignation. I think he had softened then, because if you recall the next morning after the guest house, at office he told La not to call her Chamkeli, she had a name, which to me meant that she had earned his respect.

He is arrogant and selfish absolutely, and he thinks he has paid his dues to society and they had better just put up with it, because he could buy you and your seven generations in a heartbeat. And that's why I love him. 😍 🤣

I have to disagree with you. ASR doesn't even care for his so called girlfriend La. So true...we hope that it is because he will care for Khushi...not because he is too self absorbed...Now, while he was responsible for putting Khushi through hell like he said he would when she signed the contract, Does not make it right or acceptable...I will tell you first hand from working in corporate America, your boss doesn't care what is happening in your family financially because you go to work and that's all that matters. He's not running social services, he's running a company. She told him that she would pay back the car damages, he did not suggest that. Anu...I work in corporate Ameriaca too...and you know this as well as I do...ASR's behavior as a boss will not fly here at all...I can not even count the number of law suits he will be facing...I know, as a boss...I never want to be unfair to my employees and cut their pay for work they havedone...but the point I am trying make is not so much from a corporate point of view but from a human point of view...that is just a decent and honorable thing to do...

Now what he did during their encounter when he broke that phone, obviously he wasn't thinking AT ALL. He was desparate for her attention. True...it hasn't occured to him since then ...either...

ASR thinks about himself and what he finds important only - he even said it today - he does not have time to listen or think about things that don't matter. We agree😃

Which is why it is so delicious that given this nature - he is actually spending the time to think about Khushi - I think that is what makes it interesting for me...because as he admits, he only thinks about those things which mean something to him.

If he does not pay the mithai bill, it will be willfully malicious - I hope he does not go down to that level something I have not seen yet with ASR. Khushi may open her prideful mouth and say I don't want your money, and then he may say fine. That I can see. Totally with you here...bad as he has been he hasn't been willfully malicious at least in a long time (not counting the fashion show video release to the news channel) and I hope he does not revert back to that level...

How about as a man who is thinking about her all the time...for reasons known/ guessed by us? Did Khushi even listen to him when he wanted to talk to her?

You ask about her pay check, but how about 1 lakh that she needs to pay for breaking the bond...? She is lucky that he just let her go...

I say, good ASR made decision not to yield for his emotions...I don't want ASR to act like a puppy dog behind Khushi.
Being empathatic does not make you a puppy dog..I would expect him to do this even more for an employee who he had no romantic interest in...just a fair and decent thing to do IMO.😃

I make no judgements about what is right and acceptable, just an explanation of behavior. The actions he has taken as a boss would have landed him in a civil suit as fast as you could say human resources, but I am talking about his attitude of indifference to her financial plight. As you know, if corporations started thinking about things from a human point of view, of decency and honor, we would offer free drugs to AIDS patients in Africa.

If he reverts back to that behavior, it will mean he feels nothing for her and if we know anything, it is that he does not want to ever intentionally hurt Khushi. And when she falls, he will catch her.

OK point taken..The actions he has taken as a boss would have landed him in a civil suit as fast as you could say human resources, Yup...but I am talking about his attitude of indifference to her financial plight. But that is it Anu...I don't see this as an act of charity...but as a fair thing to do...

I must be crazy...but what I felt after todays episode is anger aginst ASR...How can he be so inconsiderate? Does he not care about any one but himself...(and his sister, of course...)?

I am talking about Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta...sure he is smitten and he thinks about her all the time...but why doesn't he ever think about her problems...?What she must be going thorugh...It is not a secret that her famly is hard pressed for money...she tried to tell him that when he held her against her will at Sheesh Mahal...she was crying and told him again and again that she needed to take the papers of her shop to save her sister's marriage...Now does any one do that out of choice? How hard pressed for money they must be to count on the shop titile papers for finanacing a marriage...? Does he not think...does he pay no attention?
Then when she started working with him...he knew that she was desperate for a job...she told him before she knew it was his company...Does he make any attempt to send her pay that she earned by putting hard work for those days when he really exploited her...? No sir...don't expect any of that from ODB...He just does not think about those things...
What is important for him is to take out his anger...to try to force her to listen to him...He breaks her phone and does not think twice about how difficult it must be for her to afford one...He does not try to replace it...I am truly disappointed with Mr. ASR as a person...
If he does not pay her for the Mitahi she is making it will be the last straw... I hope that does not happen...
Thoughts/ Opinions?

Hey Sush🤗
Yet another bang on post👏...agree with all you have said...
Like I said yesterday, this is just the beginnning...aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya?😆
See, I feel this is the first stage of infatuation/love/lust...where when she is before him, he worries about her well-being...catches her like Jonty Rhodes whenever she is in any danger of falling, rescues her Devi Mayya , becomes perturbed to see her cry and all. But he thinks little beyond that immediate, physical well-being. The concern for her troubles etc will come once he is truely in love with her.
Like Mr. Darcy was at the end of the first proposal...angry, offended, spiteful. But when he has had time to process Lizzy's refusal and realized her true worth...that is when he truely falls in love with her.
