His character has much more depth, much more emotions. Whether it's Arnav or SASR, he gives a new spunk to the character. As Arnav, he emotes more because it's his sister. He is close to her and does not have a throw a facade while as ASR, his character has many shades.

In many scenes , he directly overshadows Sanaya and Daljit in scene because he is that good. So I don't want to imply you are wrong or whatever, but majority audience will say that Barun Sobti is SO good that it is unbelivable. He makes the character of ASR and Arnav come alive litearly.

jenny thanks for saying what I wanted to say . He overshadows both daljeet an Sanaya in acting . If i say somehting people will say I am biased towards Barun sobti so most of the time I refrain from prasing him or critiscising any other actor.

Okay well i've been wanting to say this, the thing is i think alot of people expect Barun's character aka Arnav Singh Raizada to be the super angry young man who hates woman (Like Maan Singh Khurana) but thats not the case in here, arnav is a totally different character, he is not meant to be the extremely angry, workoholic dude. He does have a gf (lavanya) so he doesnt hate women, he smiles , he warms up to the ladies in his house

all that kind of seperates him from Arjun Punj and Maan Singh Khurana, i think alot of people assume that ASR too is supposed to be like that, but thats what i like about ASR he is strong headed but he smiles and he is fine with women, he has that warmth factor with him, he gardens does normal stuff.

So i just feel that people think he needs to be more intense and angry because they might be comparing ASR to AP or MSK but ASR is a character in between, yes he does have intensity in him but not that much of intensity with anger and stuff ;)

that is just what i feel personally

When I observed the positivity and optimism of other individuals responses - I was taken aback as to how mature everyone in this forum were. Alas your comment had to ruin the overall effect. 🤔

Apart from tissues - I do believe I also have to advise you to re-read my comment again. *Sigh* It seems like individuals like to jump to their own conclusions and interpretations. Where in the above statement did I mention anything about replacing Barun? Kindly point that out for me since I am in a loss. Go on, highlight it, italics it, or even bold it.

I'm neither Sanaya nor Baruns fan. In fact I'll even be honest to mention that I did not even like Sanaya once upon a time. However seeing her role as Khushi has convinced me that she is indeed a fabulous actress. Are you going to shoot me for complimenting her?

In response to your last paragraph. You want me to send a petition to the directors to find a replacement for Barun just because I stated that he will improve in the future and that his acting is currently not up to the notch? Excuse me whilst I die in laughter! 🤣 Anyway .. Oh wait I feel the laughter rumbling back to life ... Excuse me again! 🤣 I have a life darling, hence I'm just going to ignore whatever you said and laugh. 😉

guys I think his expressions are just right ...look ASR is trying to hide his feelings or rather the fact that he is feeling anything ,,hence he deliberately goes balnk ..even verbally look how many times he denies... I am not interested , mujhe koi farq nahin padta ,, so he has to go poker faced ,,,It is just right ... I think of 3 scenes where he was awesome ...1) when he tells anjali what happened in GHn and anjali says why are you doing thid to Khushi ussne kya kiya hai ..and he replies pata nahin kya kiya hai ..that one line was delivered with so many layers .. guilt , exasperation, confusion , desperation , attraction all rolled into one ...

2) when he is questioning himself ...he is like pehle main uski baaton se pareshaan tha ab uski khamoshi mujhse bardasht nahin ho rahi ..aakhi mujhe ho kya raha ..again very layered textured dialogue

3) then the aarti scene he conveyed his emotions for khushi which are very complicated ...sharing a secret (vrat tootna) attraction , irritation of a fight ..confusion and his concern for anjali at the same time all very well ...

so I believe he is doing very well ...maybe just maybe though i do not remember any , his expression could be better is some scene but then improvement ka scope to har jagah hota hai ..as long as you are living ...and then every one , , , you me has a bad day in office , at work at school .. all days are not same and no professional can be consistent in his field day in day out ..be it a cricketer , lawyer , whoever

i would add last one line that epitomizes ASR for me ..after GH night Akash asks Arnav bhai kya theek se soye nahin ...aap bahut thake hue lag rahe ho ..and ASR says main roz aisa hi to lagta hoon ...

so that is the ASR look for you ..and Barun so far has fit the bill very well

I agree with the topic maker. Although granted he definitely has improved from the initial days, however I often find it difficult to interpret his 'expressions'. I understand that his role demands him to be reserved, stiff, arrogant and completely to himself, but there are certain scenes whereby his gaze is blank and lifeless. Perhaps his acting skills does not reach the expected notch due to Sanaya's overpowering characterization, vibrancy and enhanced acting abilities.

But I'm confident that he will improve = )

Thanks for you earlier comment. I am glad that you see that bluntness doesn't always bode well in a virtual environment. Those people who are blunt in the forum often come looking to cause divisiveness -which I am sure was not your intent. I am also a very blunt (actually have been told by numerous people young and old, and my hubby) that I am overly so, but I tone it down on line because no one can see my body language or facial gestures and no one really knows me.

This is an absolutely fine criticism and I don't think would have opened such a pandora's box. I just think this point got lost in translation of your initial posting. But what is done is done. No worries. It's Monday - on with the show.

I agree too. Barun looks amazing. He suits the persona of ASR. He makes us believe he's a rich arrogant dude. He's great with his scenes with Anjali. But sometimes i have to go back and watch the scene again and again just to try and figure out what he may be thinking. Like when he was staring at those pearls in his hand i was like is he still angry or is it remorse and why did he say Khushi.. Then i looked at the scene again analyzed that the flash back of him manhandling khushi and ripping her blouse. I was like ok regret. He's very close but just another 10% clarity and it'll be all ok.

Ok like when La kissed him and he turned around to look at Khushi. What did his face say?? Was he smug? was he like YES khushi is Jealous?Was he like oh shit messed up again or was he like I didn't mean for this to happen.

But somewhere i feel its not Baruns fault. He's doing fine. I feel its the directors fault. I have seen Barun in Baat hamari pakki hai and he was supposed to over act there and he did great. Here he has to underact but somewhere since there are no voice overs we the viewers are left guessing. like after that kiss if he had a slight smile we could have guessed he was being smug or happy that khushi was J. If he was slightly (very slight) wide eyed we couldve guessed he was like oh shit. Or if he was frowning and his face looked like he wanted to explain then we couldve guessed he didnt want this to happen.

Also when she was leaving the mandir. He kept looking after her. Maybe if he looked slightly forlorn we could've guessed that he was wondering when or if he will see her again. Now were not even sure if he even thought of that or was this meeting enough for him.

So Barun is great i LOVE HIM. But the directors need to also clarify his stance about Khushi. But maybe thats what they want. Us to be confused so we have trouble analyzing him and then they reveal what he feels through his actions.

Either ways again i say love Barun. He has strong screen presence and is a great actor.

In this topic too,didn't I write about the scenes in which I liked him?Not just as ASR but his other characters too.

I think MSK and Karan ( kasturi) these two characters have made me believe that the only way a khadoos boss can act is SHOUT with loud expressions. always angry mode...but actually ASR is really true to real life situation... I find his acting is very natural, aloof kind...but I am sure he is gonna be very good with sarcasm... he has blank eyes but the way he insults reallly hits hard.

Honestly, we get enough grief from the other show which shall not be named - we don't need to be hurling insults at each other. This forum is relatively peaceful and I would like it to stay that way. Let's keep the incendiary comments for others.

We all love the ArHi jodi, we are pretty fair and balanced in praise and criticism of the characters. I don't understand why we need to air discontent with actors' abilities when they are under the direction of a pretty rigid production house who go to huge lengths to put their vision on the screen (remember Barun standing around for hours for the right tie/cravate?), particularly since we enjoy the end product anyway. And you are not content with the end product, no one is forcing anyone to watch.

Damn, I thought this was going to be short - guess not, sorry. 😳

God what is the fuss all about.. People have a right to differing opinions .. For me Barun made come ASR to life for Ipepe here he needs to work more in some scenes and if we differ that is good for the growth of an actor! I think everyone here needs to be mature and realise that all these petty arguements are not even going to affect Barun in the least and spoil the atmosphere of this forum which so far i havefound very enjoyable so let us stop ramming opinions down each others throats and chill and enjoy the show!!
