Excellent explanation of symbolism with context.

In Freudian theory flower/ rose symbolizes female genitalia/ thorn could be male organ !!!!
thorn also symbolizes difficulties / problems/ diseaeses and so on.

In ASHLOK case - thorn can be the symbol of any thing - Aastha has gone thru a lot struggles / also she had fear of physical intimacy with Shlok initial stage as a inexperienced young girl.. During SR2 / red rose and blood in the finger by thorn prick - definitely symbolizes their first comsumation.

In the last Thorn Pricking scene - Could be the symbol of BARKHA's subconcoius fear of sexual intercourse with the man she secretly falls in love now !!! - She fainted with the poison of thorn - her extreme fear of extramarital relationship !!!

Even after coming back from jungle when she was sleeping continuously dreaming Shlok and the picture of sword with cap was shown - BRAKHA IS PHYSICALLY ATTRACTED TO SHLOK - she is suffering from anxiety and fear of physical intimacy with her secret love !!! - probably guilt feeling as someome's wife / someone's mother in the society!!

Loving the way you describe the importance and meaning of rose, and thorn in ashlok's life

Wonderful 👏

Love is the only key that can unlock the door to the heart and reveal the secret of the hidden rose, at the centre.

Thanks Efinah. The rose and the thorn has many meanings ... and when applied to Ashlok's life, fits in perfectly.

😃 for the appreciation.

Swathya,

I do not know anything about freudian theory at all. Will have to read up on it some day.

A whole new meaning to the simple rose and thorn...male and female..genitalia...
Agree with the points made in Ashlok case.. lots of..meanings there..struggles, fear of intimacy n so on. the maniya song..was more..clear as they showed the rose thorn drawing blood from her finger.. that is sexual intimacy..

Loved yr next lines, that is what I wanted to convey and u put it so beautifully. Aastha is now fatally attracted to Shlok n desires him but her strong morals n values are not allowing her to even accept it in her mind. Fear of extra marital affair certainly...

Nimmy, awesome effort in explaining the rose and thorn symbolisms. Can't wait for Shlok to pull out IS in style from their life and be back with his Astha!

This time ...The Thorn can only Be...Indrajeet Sarcar. ...Trying to harm ...AShlok...which Shlok or Kalindi will remove ..but Again... AShlok ..will reunite Too...As Shlok is now Acting...As Thorn to take away..Her Hate..and Fear too.. .bringing True Astha Alive..By His Love as ...Rose.

I actually wrote half post on it recently...flowers and Thorn ...still have to .Update it..fully...Ashlok.Love and Hate Memories. ...Too Busy now...must complete it.

Vinni,

Thanks...for the wonderful comments.

Yes..IS is the thorn in Ashlok's life...a thorn in their side that has to be cast aside...by Shlok himself with help from Avdhoot n Kalindi.

Agree that Shlok is behaving like a thorn in Barkha's life... to get Aastha out... from her..inner dark recesses of her mind. Once she is out, then Shlok will be the rose...and spread his love like the perfume of a rose.

Waiting to read your take on flowers n thorn.

I have a question do you think director or whoever think about symbolisms in a shot before shooting..😕

Nimmy, I don't mind the track! Shlok can take all the time he wants to woo Astha back. It will be interesting if the cvs decide to focus on Ashlok only for 2/3 weeks! High hopes, I know!!
