In fact he would often end up hurting Astha unknowingly and unintentionally, adding to her emotional wounds. However this time he did realise that she had been somewhat hurt.

after last chap I was feeling things were better..but guess they are back to square one! There was a need for this actually. Only by taking their relationship back a few steps I could make Shlok give the much needed shock and make him realise that their relationship is changing for the worse and he will have to change his attitude towards Astha before its too late.

It's not like I have hidden anything from her. She knows the whole truth then why hurt?

I agree with the slap part 😈 But honestly he didn't know she will be hurt. All he thought that she will become annoyed. He was looking for a reaction in the form of retaliation from her, the similar reaction she shows at his antics.
