Shlok and Aastha reached her apartment and Aastha unlocked the front door. Just then Shlok let out a loud sneeze.
A: (concerned, touches his shoulder) Shlok...
S: All because of your stupid behavior Aastha.. Aaahh..aahh chhhoo..(sniffs hard)
A :(feeling bad) I am so sorry Shlok..Come inside..I will do something to help you..
As he nodded and walked inside, Shlok covered his mouth with both hands and "Aaa..Aaahh..AAAhhhCChooo" sneezed again
Aastha was feeling really afraid that he might fall ill because of her. She ran to her room and brought with her a dry towel. By that time Shlok had sneezed three- four times more..
A: Shlok, I think you should dry yourself after changing these wet clothes..I will show you the wash room.
S :(breathing faster with his mouth open) O-K...
Sneezing again and again, Shlok followed her to the guest bedroom and she opened the wash room door for him. Shlok took the towel from her, got inside and closed the door. She was truly alarmed by now and went to the kitchen to make some ginger tea for him..After making the tea, she went to the other bedroom (which Aastha and Payal shared) to change her clothes too.
Meanwhile in the bathroom, Shlok dried his hair with the towel and then removed his each and every clothing. Just then he remembered that he had nothing to change into..
S: Damn..!! Damn!!..DAAAMN..!! (hitting his forehead with his hand )
He then dried his whole body too, with that towel..Then knocked the door and shouted for Aastha.
S: Aasthaaa...Aaasthaaa...Aaasthaaa...
S :(to himself) Ohhh Gooddd...!!Where is she..?!! I will have to get out of here and look for her..
He wrapped the wet towel around his waist and got out of the washroom..He walked towards the guest bedroom door and suddenly realized that he was half- naked. He stopped midway.
S: Damn..How will I go to her in this condition..
Hiding behind the door, he half-closed it and he put his head out and searched for her in the drawing room. She was nowhere to be seen..He shouted again
S: Aaasthaaa...Aaasthaaa... (withdrawing his head inside and standing behind the door)
S :(to himself) Offooo..Where are you Aaasthaaa..?Now, what will I do..?
Meanwhile Aastha changed into a pair of casual skirt and top. She was looking really pretty. She opened the door of her washroom and was toweling her hair dry..Suddenly she remembered "Oh no..!!Poor Shlok..Now, what will I give him to wear..?" and touched her forehead anxiously putting the towel down.
A :(to herself) Let me go and check with him.. I guess he is still in the washroom..
Swiftly she walked out of her bedroom and she hurried along to reach the guest bedroom. Unaware that Aastha was approaching the doorway to his room, Shlok decided to come from behind the door just then. Aastha stepped into a puddle of water at the threshold and slipped backwards.
A: Aaahh...aahh
Shlok caught her just on time with both hands around her back and she hung on to his shoulders for support. Shlok made her stand straight and looked at her feeling concerned.
S: Aastha..Are you ok..?
He was gazing intently into her honey colored eyes ,then to her facial skin which glowed even more after she had washed it freshly with face wash and then to her soft pink lips which was parted slightly because of the sudden shock of falling. He felt a sudden urge to savour those lips and find out what they tasted like.
A: (looking into his eyes and answered slowly ) I am ok..Thank you Shlok..
Aastha's eyes wandered down from his face to his broad and naked shoulders and then towards his masculine chest which tempted her to bury her face into it and relish an intoxicating smell which was emanating from his body. Suddenly, reality hit her and she withdrew from him, brushing off her fatal fantasies. She moved a bit farther from him and turned sideways so as not to view his ravishing unclothed torso.
A: Shlok..I just came to tell you that I don't know what I will give you to wear.
S: It's ok Aastha..First of all, stop feeling so embarrassed...You will make me feel even more embarrassed. Just give me another towel so that I will wrap it around my upper body.
A :(not looking at him) Sure Shlok..
And she retreated from the guest bed room and thought "Aastha..Why did you stare at him like that? Did he understand that I was just about to lose my self-control". As she again thought about his half- naked body she shivered and goose bumps hit her body.
Meanwhile Shlok was thinking.."Damn you Shlok...What will Aastha be thinking of you right now..She might be thinking that I am so shameless to come out of the washroom only wearing a towel. I should have stayed inside.." He began to pace to and fro inside the bedroom and then Aastha arrived with another towel and handed it to him. He wrapped the towel around his neck and brought down the edges to cover his front body.
A: Shlok. Please go to the living room and have some ginger tea which I prepared for you. Meanwhile, I will put your clothes in the drier.
S: Ok then..Thank you Aastha..
Shlok walked towards the living room and sat down on the couch. He poured some tea from the jug into his cup and began to have it. He thought, "She is so caring..!"..He smiled slightly and again thought, "At times she is really silly and child-like; But sometimes she is so sensible and matured"..
He thought again," She was looking so pretty even without any makeup in that casual looking skirt and top..Her eyes are so beautiful and doe-like; her skin is so flawless and.. god..!!..she smells like heaven.!!".. He remembered that he had wanted to kiss her petal like lips. "No..No..I need to control my feelings", He thought, shaking his head gently as if it might help. He got up from the couch, holding the tea cup and walked towards the window. It was still raining, but not so heavily as before. He reached the window and watched the rain falling outside, sipping the hot tea. The cool wind and the smell of wet soil intoxicated his senses.
Aastha saw Shlok standing at the window, his backside facing her. She wondered what it might feel like if she could hug him from behind. She blushed at the thought and she walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder gently.
A: Shlok..You are watching the rain..?
As her skin contacted his, he felt his heart doing a flip-flop. He turned sideways and she also moved near to the window and stood there facing him. She too got carried away by the chill wind and the same intoxicating smell of wet soil. She closed her eyes in ecstasy.
His eyes chose that moment to wander all over her body. Her angel like face, then her slender neck; her attractive and shapely bosom and then to the midriff. The wind was playing with the edge of her top and it was fluttering upwards revealing her beautiful belly. He was fascinated by her navel, which was playing hide and seek with him. Feeling enchanted, he extended his index finger towards it with a strong urge to touch it.
Suddenly there was a flash of lightning followed by a loud thunder. Shlok and Aastha came back to their senses. Aastha closed the window quickly, feeling afraid of the lightning. Shlok withdrew his hand, unnoticed by her and he too helped her in closing the window. Shlok cursed himself inwardly and walked back towards the couch. Closing his eyes tightly, he placed his both hands on the backside of the couch. He dug his fingernails into its surface feeling extremely nervous at what he was about to do only moments ago. He had better leave this place quickly. Determined, he turned to Aastha.
S: Aastha..Haven't my clothes got dried?
A: (alarmed at his sudden change) No Shlok, I have took them out from the drier and spread them out under the fan. They will get dried soon. Did you call Varad or Rohan..? You wanted one of them to pick you up from here right?
Shlok was shocked to think that he had forgotten to call either of them. Then he was even shocked to know that he had actually left his mobile inside the car.
S: Aastha..My mobile is inside the car. Please give me your phone.
Aastha went and took her mobile from her bag. But Alas! Battery down..
A: Oh no Shlok..Low battery..Wait let me charge it.
And then as Aastha said it, the lights in the apartment went off..
S: Oh god!! Power failure..Now what?!!
Both of them realized that the only way left for Shlok was to stay there over night.
A: Shlok, please don't worry..It's getting really late..Both of us are really tired and we should get some sleep. I will go and arrange the bed for you in the guest room.
Shlok didn't know what to say..Matters were getting out of hand. He was beginning to feel afraid of himself.
