Within few days after Aastha and Shlok's encounter, families of Rohan and Payal met with each other and they all decided that they must get engaged with each other as fast as possible.

Shlok didn't try to meet Aastha after that, even though he was feeling sorry for his actions. Aastha was feeling really sad after the incident, but she was happy for her friend Payal. Both Shlok and Aastha were busy with the preparations for the upcoming event. What they didn't know was that a surprise was in store for both of them

The decorated party hall was bustling with people who had come to attend the function. Drinks and refreshments were being served. Grown-ups and kids were having their own kind of fun in many ways. Some were talking excitedly about the upcoming wedding, where as some were content with gossiping and noticing what kind of ornaments and dresses the others were wearing. Kids were seen playing games with each other or pestering the elders occasionally about something or other.
Rohan was looking handsome, wearing a designer suit. He was accompanied by Shlok and Varad.

Shlok was looking really stunning wearing this:

Meanwhile, Aastha was in the makeup room with her friend, Payal. Payal was looking beautiful, wearing an elegant designer saree. Her hair do was also nice and it complimented her nicely.

Aastha was wearing a beautiful party wear saree and she was looking really great.

P: Aastha...I am feeling nervous.
A: Payal..Don't be so nervous..Everything is going to be fine.

Aastha held Payal's hand and squeezed it comfortingly.
Suddenly Payal's mother Mrs. Latha Lokhande came inside and told them to come out as everyone was waiting for Payal.

Shlok looked up when he felt that the hall had suddenly fallen silent. Payal was walking down the stairs and everyone had stopped their activities to have a glimpse of the bride-to-be. He was utterly surprised to find Aastha, who was walking beside Payal along with some other girls. He couldn't take his eyes off her. She was looking even prettier than the other day. The color of her saree was complimenting her fair skin and her long hair was left open and she had let it down to the front along her left side shoulder.
Soon Payal and Rohan exchanged the rings and everyone applauded them and showered the couple with their blessings and well wishes. Shlok was desperately trying to maintain a safe distance from Aastha, so that she wouldn't notice him. But he just couldn't stop looking at her. He couldn't control his eyes when it roamed all over her. Was it the glittering ear ring which dangled from her ears, which kept on hitting her soft cheek, or whether it was the red lip gloss which shone on her luscious lips ; Was it the beautiful saree which was draped around her curvaceous body, or the blouse which revealed the bare skin at the back. He just couldn't decide which one was more eye-catching.
Varad was watching Shlok intently. He could sense the attraction which Shlok felt for Aastha. He decided to do something for his friend. He came to the centre of the hall and cleared his throat as if to make an announcement.

V: Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please.
Everyone turned around in his direction.
V: Now it's time for a special performance. It is going to be an impromptu act by a woman and a man of my choice. Let me see..(looks around and acts as if he just spotted Aastha, and walks up to her)..Ok..This pretty lady over here..What is your name?
A: (blushed and looked around uncertainly)..I am Aastha.. Aastha Dixit
V: Come on Aastha..Come with me..
Varad held Aastha's hand and led her to the centre of the hall and everyone moved back and left a round space for the performance.
V: And now let me see..(again looks around)Ah yes.. Shlok..Come over here..

Aastha was shocked to hear Shlok's name and looked around to the direction Varad was pointing. Shlok emerged from among the crowd. All the anger for him which Aastha had held in her mind melted away just at the sight of her prince charming. Uncertain of what Varad was planning to say, Shlok walked towards the centre to join them. Varad smiled at him and Shlok raised his eyebrows inquisitively.

V: Shlok and Aastha, I request both of you to delight all of us with a couple dance. Let us have the Music please..(walks away from them to join the crowd )

Khuda jaane song's starting music began to play in the back ground as the crowd fell silent at once. Aastha was feeling highly nervous and she was looking all around when suddenly she felt his left hand on her waist. She was shocked as a flow of current coursed through her veins. She looked at her waist and then instinctively looked up into his eyes. She felt her knees go weak when she saw those eyes burning with passion. She didn't dare to break their eye contact. She could feel his other hand taking hold of her hand and raised it and pulled her closer to him with both his hands. Their waists came into contact and she could feel his well toned abs. Her heart was racing and they began to sway gently to the music. He raised her hand high above her head and twirled her three times around gently and then slowly arched her backwards holding at the back of her waist for support. She was amazed at his dancing prowess and she allowed him to raise her gently from the arched back position. She looked into his eyes feeling mesmerized and after returning her to the standing position, he made her move to his front with her back facing him. His breath tickled her earlobe and she gasped. He enjoyed the effect he was causing to her and he slipped his both hands to her waist and lifted her off the ground in a swift move. As she soared upwards she could feel his left hand on the bare skin of her waist and hot waves of passion spread throughout her body. He lowered her back to the ground again and turned her waist around and made her face him. She held both his shoulders for support and his hands were still around her waist. Both of them were panting heavily. Aastha lowered her eyes and pulled off from Shlok quickly. Both of them made a formal bow and acknowledged the viewers, who applauded them whole heartedly.

As soon as they left the dance floor, it was invaded by a lot of couples who wished to dance to the slow and romantic songs which were being played. Rohan and Payal, Varad and Sojal also joined in.

Aastha, who still had not recovered from the after effects of dancing with Shlok, went and picked up a glass of water. She drank the whole glass in one go and again took another glass. As she raised the glass to her lips, she saw Shlok coming towards her.
She lowered her hand and gazed at him.

S :(staring intently into her eyes) Aastha..I want to talk to you..
A :(gently) Ok.. Tell me Shlok..
S:Not here..Come with me..

Without asking her permission, he took hold of her hand and walked towards the exit door of the party hall. She was surprised at his sudden action.

A: What are you...
S: Shhh...Don't create a scene. Come with me..

She just couldn't understand this person- Shlok Agnihotri- at all. Sometimes he was a friendly gentleman, sometimes turned into a rude person, and now he was dragging her along as if she was his property.
He took her to a beautiful roof top garden which was just behind the hall. No one was there at that time.. The sky was full of stars and there was a small crescent shaped moon which shone in the middle. Shlok left her hand and made her sit on a garden bench. He also sat beside her and looked at her with an innocent expression.

S: Aastha..I am sorry for my behavior on that day..
A: (gently) it's Ok Shlok..Even I am sorry for my behavior..(smiles)

Shlok smiled and touched her cheek affectionately and withdrew it immediately.
S: You know Aastha..You are a really nice person..Good at heart..
Aastha didn't say anything she felt her heart melt. She just smiled adorably..
S: But Aastha..
He sighed and got up from the bench and stood turning away from her. Aastha wondered what he was going to say..

S: I can't love you Aastha..

He didn't know why, but he felt like he was tearing his heart away by saying those words to her. Aastha got up from the bench and was prepared for this. She took hold of his hand..

A: Listen Shlok, I know that it's not easy for you to forget your past so easily..I know that life was not easy for you after the death of your girl friend. I have seen you suffer on that day when I had come to attend Jyoti's wedding. I couldn't sleep all that night after I had seen your condition. You were completely drunk and above all terribly hurt after what fate had done to your life. I have loved you from that very day and still you have a very special place in my heart.(tears fill her eyes)..I don't know why but I love you...(her voice cracks)..I love you Shlok..

Shlok turned towards her and faced her..She was looking at him with a pleading face..He noticed the tears in her eyes and understood that she was telling all those words from the bottom of her heart..He felt his heart melting away just by looking at her sad looking face. His eyes also filled with tears, in a swift move he hugged her and she cried her heart out burying her face in his chest, placing her hands around the man she loved with all her heart..They stood like that for a few more minutes..Aastha realized that Shlok hadn't said anything to her..She had just said to him those three magic words..Yet he didn't say anything..

A: (still her head resting on his chest) Shlok..
S: Hmm...
A: I know that you are not ready for a relationship now..

Shlok loosened his grip around Aastha; she pulled off from the hug and stood straight looking into his face..

A: Don't worry Shlok..I don't want you to rush into a decision regarding this subject. We can be friends..Good friends in fact..(Placed her hands on both her arms)..I care about you Shlok..Please don't ask me to stay away from your life..Please Shlok..?

S: Ok..(nodded his head gently and smiles at her)
