LATE REGRETS
"Bang" went the gun and to everyone's shock and a few's relief as Astha fell to the ground with bullet right above her heart. That moment alone redefined everything. That moment witnessed the death of Shlok's ego and victory of his heart.
He rushed to her and picked his wife up in his arms and begged her.
Shlok-"Astha wake up ...wake up please. Don't leave me...I cannot live without you..I truly Love you..."
Astha felt an incredible pain spreading throughout her body which made her hearing nil. All she could see was Shlok's lips moving and everything was turning dark and she said something which she had to desperately..
Astha-"Thank you Shlok for giving me a concrete reason to hate you for the rest of my life..."
Shlok-"Astha...Astha.."but she had passed out .Kalindi's wails got loud and so noisy making everyone want to shut their ears but were helpless. The world had however stopped for Shlok. All he could see was her. Her laugh, smile, her innocent confessions...
He barely registered seeing Aditi being dragged away by policewoman. His parents shaking him but nothing registered. He did not know when the ambulance arrived or their attempts to revive Astha which turned a success...
She was running from him and he ran faster to catch her. He twirled her by her waist and he looked into the face of a laughing Astha. Even as he held her she disappeared into tiny pieces of dust.
"Astha.."He woke up screaming...
