Avinash sachdev: SRK in darr?? Unseen article

From arriving in a sparkling red Ferrari to partying late night at a swanky lounge in South Mumbai, Avinash Sachdev was spotted flaunting his brand new character for his brand new television venture. The actor went out of his way to make his friends from media feel special at this all-boys' party hosted by him to promote his next television outing, Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Ek Baar Phir on Star Plus. Bidding adieu to his adorable nice-boy role as Dev in Chhoti Bahu, the actor will be seen in a radically different avatar " of a male chauvinist on Star Plus' Season 2 of Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Do.

Set in a Pune based Maharashtrian family, the show revolves around Shlok (Sachdev) and Astha (Shrenu Parikh), who are poles apart and yet fall in love with for each other. About his role, the actor quips, "During my Chhoti Bahu days, my fans called me the kalyug ka Ram, and now as Shlok on Iss Pyaar..., they will call me the kalyug ka Raavan."

As a male chauvinist, the actor knows it's bound to affect the female fan base that he created with his earlier show. "Shlok is super egoistic. He hates women, so much that he doesn't even talk to his mother. He thinks god made men to work and earn money and women to do household chores. I know I will be losing out on my female fans, but it's okay. For fours years I received their love as Dev, now I am all set to receive their hatred," he laughs. So did he take any inspiration to play this role? "This project has me playing dual roles, I will come across as the hero as well as a villian, just like what Shah Rukh Khan did in Darr. And for inspirations, I turned to my bunch of friends who are male chauvinist in real lives."

Though the show is being touted as a sequel to the Barun Sobti-Sanaya Irani starrer, content wise it's way too different from the original. "In fact, I wasn't even aware that the show will be titled Iss Pyar... Ek Baar Phir when I started shooting for it!" he signs off.
