I have a feeling that he planned all that. He stopped her to stay late and then he rescue her from the auto driver and then make her fall for him. I personally think he won't stop in making her fall for him but he indirectly by giving her event like this teaching her what are the rules for his house and how people behave in his house so that he would marry her she already knows everything.
