Biraj, all we can hope is like the college sabun, we can erase first 30 odd episode from our collective mind, as the story telling finally find it's groove

Nice write up Visiji. You do have a way with words. Loved reading your take on the episode.

Biraj, I like Chandni's variation in her interaction with Mahantji and Amma. With her dad, she yearns for his cognizance in remembering her, cherishing when he calls her by name.. with Amma however it is a pressing need not to disappoint.

The college sabun characters were always in character Dipsy. Even through those inoculation episodes. The viewing was difficult but writing was not illogical. There was an arc and build up.
Here I am happy to ignore the first 30 for a totally different reason 😉 😛 😆

Yes I like that too. But her back story is so poorly etched at the moment that people will disengage before they find out more.
Like until yesterday we didn't know she was away in Banaras. We have seen bitwa's version of events so we can then understand (yeah I know that's stretching it a bit 😉 ) his motivations. But we haven't seen anything of Chandni's version until last night. If we had had a glimpse of that we would have understood her blind faith in her parents better. I used to wonder why Chandni never thought of how Dev's family got wiped out. She may not have known the what and how of it but she thought of Dev without ever thinking of that. Which seemed strange until we now find out that she probably doesn't know at all. Dev and Chandni might not know each other's version. That's part of the plot. But the audience needs to know something. Otherwise it doesn't work. Crafting a story is all about how much to tell the audience and how much to withhold and the how and when of it.

I actually also want to know why Chandni has this pressing need to not disappoint her mother. Yes some of it can be just her devotion to her parents. But in Chandni its overwhelmingly and obsessively so. Did something happen? In the past. Where she failed her mother?

As i already mentioned in ur previous thread I really liked Friday's episode. Finally I get to see the actor Barun whose acting I fell in love with during PRATHAM. Bitiya still has a long way to go. But that could be due to her weak characterization. I dont even like the character. On 1 side she claims to love Dev but has no qualms marrying a rich guy. OK i get she is taking a bullet for the team. But even then should she at least not show some guilt & heart break for giving up on her love & marrying a guy of her mom's choice. She comes across as shallow Hopefully the CVs make her more likeable!

Haven't seen the episode yet, but read 3 written updates including Revenge Edition.
Heven't read the previous comments either, so if I am repeating what was already said, then maafi.
It sounds like that was an excellent episode. Happy for the team.
But, but, but were we mislead in case of Chandni?
If I remember correctly, Chandni and mother in law were in the same frame in the same clothes, when Chandni said Mahantaniji can fly and when Mahantaniji was burnt alive.
Chandni pointed in the direction of Cheeku and Meeku when they were running away from the town folk.
So, again were we mislead?
Cheers...

I had honestly don't know why I am trying to find a logical explanation for something illogical but here goes.

Bitwa is seeing a series of flashbacks but they are snapshots and not a sequence. There was the building up of case to discredit Dev's parents which was carefully plotted by Indrani and Co. for reasons not yet known to us. Chandni was but an unwitting pawn. But it all began with what she said. Then there were other staged incidents which built upon that which eventually ended in death and destruction...the likes of which Allahabad had never seen before ( 😛 maafi. Couldn't resist that 😛 😆 ) Chandni started the cascade of events and was then packed off to Banaras with her sisters to insulate them from the events that Indrani knew were going to go down in Allahabad. But when it actually went down Chandni was not there. When she came back Dev and his family had vanished off the face of the earth And she was told by her mother that they left and of course being the devoted daughter that she is she didn't question anything. But how long was she away that she didn't hear any gossip in Allahabad after she returned?
I guess whatever the explanation one can't escape the holes And after so many reminders to myself about the golden rule of sabun watching why am I looking for logic?

There is something missing here in kid Chandni starting it all, dont think it is a blooper or change in track cause that was the very foundation the story has been built upon and usually Gul does not mess that up. Looks like this was not a sequence as mentioned above.

Was there not a flashback with Dev questioning Chandni and she says I did see your mother fly or something like that. This was in the earlier weeks - was this just my imagination?

They really need to unveil some more info about what happened from Chandni's POV- hopefully the conversations with her mama?
