So she some how plants the seed of this idea in young Chandu's mind that Dev's mom is a witch without Chandu understanding the implications of this accusation. Remember they show 1 scene where only Dev & Chandni r talking & Chandu asks Dev if his mom is a witch. She was just curious. Then later on Indrani might ve asked her in an innocent manner before the public & Chandu might ve said yes.

Also reg pointing Dev may be just before leaving the mob might ve asked where is the Mahant's kids. Not knowing their murderous intention again she might ve thought they r just searching for Dev & might ve told that she saw him go that way.

Anyway as i mentioned either the CVs might ve planned it frm the beginning. Or they r trying to plug this major plot hole by showing it differently now 😆

ok so here is my take...

We all know Chandini pointed out towards Dev saying Yeh raha Dev. One thing I want to point out is in the initial promos you can see Indrani holding hand of chhoti Chandini who appears to be quite uncomfortable or reluctant if you watch closely. Possibilities are Indrani would have sown the seed in Chandini's mind of Dev's mother being a witch. We are only shown what Chandini asks Advay 'Teri maa daayan hai' but we don't know what is Dev's reply. He might have cleared her doubts by saying that he had seen some other lady planting the voo doo doll in his house and would have told her to not to say these words again. Innocent Chandini went up to Indrani and gave the explanation but she continued her manipulation.

On the day of mahaa aarti, chances are high that Indrani would have asked Chandini to say that Dev's mother was a witch either by threatening her or by making her believe that Dev's mother would harm her Dev. When she says what she is asked to Dev is shocked plus she points at him too. Miku was not in his arms then. Chances are he might have ran for 2-3 days.

Now I think the moment she pointed at Dev, Indrani or any other person would have covered her eyes and mouth and made her smell chloroform. My forensic friend says children of small ages can't bear the high intensity of it and often tend to forget the things that happened with them. The other reason for her lost memory might be hypnotism.
