Hi ,

Yes i too really don't understand this TRP malarkey what so ever . I guess certain shows are for certain audiences and IPK for sure is mainly for those who enjoy the romance genre.

But i think the quality of our Indian TV has seriously dropped to a low over the last decade. I remember when i was a child, my mother watching shows like Hasratien. I watched Hasratein recently and my oh my what a progressive woman centric show it is👏. But I think Ekta and her regressive shows have destroyed Indian telly. And now she is the one making some more of these Nagin, bichhoo , atma etc shows. 😡 and there is actually a demand for these shows apparently 😕

If You think about it Ekta has made movies like Dirty Picture, Ragini MMS , Shoot out at Vadala etc, it goes to show that the TV watching audiences are totally different to the moving going audience.

Well i don't see anything changing with the quality of the shows at least in the immediate future, Maybe when we become the age of these TRP aunties 😕and quit putting up with these useless concepts😃, things might change, But that is a long long way away till we get there. 😆

As of now I am enjoying IPK every bit and want it do well inspite of the NAgins and bichcchoos and the bhatakti hui aatmas,🤣 .

Ever thought it might 'cause Advay as a character is supposed to be generally restrained and cold/emotionless?

OT - Angel, TRPs are beyond me. Gave up on ever understanding them and the audience who generates them when it hit me how such a crapfest like KKB could be doing splendidly for so long

noone can understand the trps system...and 8pm slot is definitely not for shows like Pardes...IPK3...trps aunties doesn't understand the language of romance...they only understand the language of drama...and those shows ruling the charts has dramas...good dramas though illogical n annoying...but they have a solid drama...

we blame EK for the mess...but its the trps audience who are messed...when she tries to bring new stuff its not accepted...when she brings in regressive stuff the trps soar...its easy to blame EK...Gul other producers but the truth is the trps audience who doesn't want to progress...if only they their mindset shift to something new and interesting...the producers including EK n Gul will give them something new...

i have seen revenge marraige in madhubala with psycho ML like rk but still audience loved to hate him and thats the reason of trps! Audience connection with characters are important.

I tried to watch ipk3 but character bulidup is extremely poor in this show and suddenly they changed the whole format of this show from dark to light comedy.Advay is poor written character.

The makers did not start the show on a good note. The last few episodes have been good and today's, especially, was very good, barring the loud bg score and the infamous zip-zap-zoom camerawork. If you check the other shows that are ruling the TRPs, barring one or two, none of them have good story lines. IPK3 at least has a different story, with no relation to saas bahu angle. But the show lost its audience in the first two weeks and now it will take time for the audience to watch SBS and other shows to understand the changed storyline and give the show a second chance.

Left Right Left was and will always be one of the best shows aired on Indian Television for me, at least till Rajveer's death, yet it never topped the TRP charts. It really was then I stopped judging a show by it's TRP. Some shows, although dont appeal to the masses end up becoming cult. Back then there was scope for shows to survive without great TRPs, but now it's all business. Low TRP will directly lead to shutting of the show, which is sad.

I think the TV audience is completely different from Movie audience. While they accepted SRK killing Shipa Shetty (not sure if she was even born during his parents' death) to apparently take revenge on her dad TRP junta is unable to accept Barun taking revenge on a girl for betraying him 16 yrs back.

The main prob is in India TV viewing is a family dinner thing. So the remote control is controlled by the elders in the family who like only this regressive Saas Bahu stuff & roj rona dona.

Most middle class families still dont allow separate TV in the childrens' room out of fear that they will watch unsanskari stuff. Of course kids these days r light yrs ahead & dont use TV to watch such stuff 😆
