If you are a Barun Sobti fan, there's every possibility that you have cancelled all your appointments to sit before your TV screen at 8pm tonight. In fact, every Monday to Friday hereafter. The reason: Of course Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 3 that starts tonight with Sobti returning as the main man. Sigh! Yeah, we know you just skipped a beat with his mere mention. Tonight all those months of waiting and anticipation is finally going to end. You're certainly excited AF, but Mr Sobti is all cool and calm about his comeback. T2 Online caught up with him hours before the show goes on air. And like always, floored us with his easy quips. Excerpts:

Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 1 was a huge hit, thanks to you and Sanaya Irani. You weren't a part of Season 2. Are you under a lot of pressure with Season 3 now?

I never think about ratings because I have nothing to do with it. The production team and channel have to think about it. Actors get a lot of undue popularity because of a high rating show, but that is different. I have no idea how the show is going to be. There is no set rule for a show to click otherwise everyone would have followed that.

So you play the angry young man again. Aren't you scared of getting stereotyped?

I don't have lots of fears. I am very happy in what I do. My character is very different in this show. Arnav (from Season 1) was still a good guy but Advay is badass. So, it is in fact a little difficult for me as an actor to portray this character.

What seems like the biggest challenge for you in your profession?

The biggest challenge in today's time is to get noticed. There is so much content everywhere. It's very difficult to understand your character and script. You need to make your character noticed by figuring out the important scenes, and how it can be differently.

What kid of preparations did you do to become Advay Singh Raizada?

I read a lot about the character. Usually it takes a lot of time to write... to sketch out a character. So, when they offered the role to me, I asked them to give me my character brief because it was not a real life character. It's a fiction character. So, I read about it again and again. And I asked loads of questions.
