That's right, this lady is a multi-faceted talent ka dhamaka!
A double graduate, a painter, a dancer and a singer, Anaida stormed on the Indian music scene with her hit single Hotline. Love Today Hai Nahin Asaan, her first album was one of the highest selling debut albums of the time . Both these videos took advantage of her easy dancing skills, in both western and Indian styles. Her English single Fever in which she modulated her voice to sing this classic song, followed soon after.
In 1996 Nazuk Nazuk was released, featuring the mega-hit track Oova Oova (I'll bet you've heard this catchy tune), where she was projected as a simple girl. The second video Hoo Halla Hoo was the first animated video to be produced in India (That's another first for Anaida!). It took over six months to complete and won a number of awards including Hope'96 for best animation. (Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEnBD33TUYg)
(Now, the big one! Another first folks 😊)
For the first time ever, Walt Disney produced a version of one of their popular tracks in another language. This song was Hakuna Matata from their super hit animation movie The Lion King. The duet with Baba Sehgal was one of the very few songs which was accepted by all age groups. (I love this song, it's sooooo cute : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYIc2ev4U8g ,Who doesn't love The Lion King?)
The year 1996 saw Anaida teaming up with the Syrian singer/ songwriter Shukri for an original Arabic album O Malu Malu. The video of the title track was co-ordinated by Anaida herself. This incidentally was the first original Arabic album by a Hindi pop artist. (The title song is still very popular here in the Middle East, even though it was released almost 13 years ago!!)
Anaida released a pop song to celebrate India's 50 years of independence (Indian enough for you?), originally titled Vande Mataram, later was changed to Hum Sub Ek Hain. The video featured superstars like Sunjay Dutt and Salman Khan along with Kumar Gaurav and Atul Agnihotri.
In 1997, Greek pop superstar, classical pianist and composer Stefanos Korkolis invited Anaida to visit Greece to sing a duet for his forthcoming album. The song titled Anaida sung in Greek and Hindi charmed Greek audiences at live performances.
Anaida was the playback singer for an English song in the film Bombay Boys. In 1999, three years after her last mainstream album Anaida returned with her latest album – Chori Chori, directed by Sanjay Gupta, projecting a considerably matured Anaida. The album is based on traditional folk music.
AND what's her latest achievement? She's in the top-5 on IJSMB 👏 👏 👏
Through back pain and slime, through snakes and fights, through rain and cockroaches, she's here in the final back, faced it all with a firm resilience that has been brilliant to behold. ⭐️
She's in for the final stretch now, VOTE FOR ANAIDA because apart from all her jungle adventures, she can sing too 😉
