Okay full confession, I haven't seen the scene as of now, and what I'm saying is based on what updates I got from my friends and comments on Twitter.

I think a lot of people didn't understand the Rikara scene today. Is it so difficult or what? Omkara is an introvert and he still hasn't changed BUT...
Did people forget that the central conflict of Rikara was that Omkara never accepted Gauri as his wife?? Thats why him announcing to the world that Gauri is his wife is important.
Yes, maybe it should have happened through their second wedding. But the makers would never give a second wedding to Rikara, toh woh toh hone se raha.
This is the best that they can give and they are doing it. Omkara hasn't become a social butterfly, he is not doing this for himself. He is doing this for Gauri.
By god, pehli baar banda is doing something for his wife. And people start criticizing him. Even his own fans can't understand him.
Have people forgotten Gauri's dream before the actual exhibition last time? This is that dream finally materializing in real life. What did Gauri want more than anything? What did she say in her confession? She said:
"I wanted you to take pride in calling me your wife"
Finally Omkara is doing just that. They are closing the breakup/confession vaala loop as well.
