"...and then I warned him that if he ever mixes water in the milk again, I'll give him a good beating with my Chandni. And after that he NEVER dared to mix even an ounce of-"
"Do you never stop talking?" Shivaay asked her with an annoyed look, rubbing his temple with his fingers in slow movements to get rid of the pain, that she had so easily induced in the past few minutes she had been here to show him some wedding themes he 'absolutely had to choose from and she would complain to Dadi if he didn't.'
Annika frowned at the question. Of course, a man of few words who was always sporting a v-shaped frown on his forehead will have problems with others so much as speaking at their heart's will.
"I talk so much because I don't keep anything in my heart, unlike you," she scowled at him, making him roll his eyes.
"And you know what they say," she continued, "people who talk so much have a clean heart. They don't keep any negativities inside and pour their heart out. It cleanses their mind, and you should definitely try that sometime too. Much needed for you. In fact, I think you-"
"That's enough," Shivaay exclaimed before throwing away the file, taking two-strides to reach her, and slamming his lips over hers. He made no attempt to kiss her properly, but merely kept their mouths pressed together for a few seconds. Annika had her eyes open wide all the while. When he finally pulled back, a bit breathless, Annika stared at him in shock for a few moments, before-
THASH
She placed a particularly noisy slap on his left cheek, and walked out of his room like a storm. Shivaay stared wide-eyed after her, hand grasping his cheek that was stinging a little.
**
Annika was furiously changing the channels on her small box tv, a permanent scowl plastered on her face since the incident' in the afternoon, when the door bell rang. Huffing, she went to the open the door, and found the reason of her ill-temper standing on the threshold.
"What are you doing here?" She snapped at him, hands raised to her hips. He only shrugged and entered at leisure, closing the door behind him. Annika's scowl deepened.
"Mr. Oberoi," I asked you a question.
Scanning her living room once to check if her brother was around, and finding with satisfaction that he wasn't, Shivaay turned to her.
"I came to apologize. For, um, before."
Annika was flabbergasted to find Shree Shree Shivaay Singh Oberoi apologizing, but composed herself in time.
"Whatever," she said in annoyance, crossing her arms across her chest.
"No really, I didn't know what I was doing," Shivaay said, trying not to appear nervous but failing miserably.
"Didn't you?" Annika snapped again, an eyebrow raised.
"Well, I mean," Shivaay gulped, "It was sort of instinctive. You just wouldn't stop talking, and my head was hurting, so-"
"So you just thought that stealing my first kiss would be the best idea to shut me up," Annika said, a hint of sadness in her voice. Shivaay shouldn't have been surprised that this was her first kiss, but hearing it still made him feel a surge of pride.
"Well, it was my first kiss too, you know. So it's not like I-"
Again, Annika interrupted him.
"It was?" She asked, surprised. "But you've had girlfriends befo-"
"I don't find it necessary to discuss my private matters with you," He said, avoiding her eyes. Annika's scowl was back.
"Oh, but you find it absolutely okay to steal my first damned kiss!" She replied indignantly.
"Look I said sorry, alright! I don't know what happened. You kept on talking, and your mouth looked really nice, and-"
Shivaay froze as he realized what he had just said, and so did Annika.
"What did you just say?" She asked slowly, eye widened in surprise.
"N-nothing," Shivaay hastily replied, looking anywhere but her. "I better get going, uh, I have an important meeting."
Annika didn't even bother asking why he had a meeting at 10 O'clock at night, as she was too busy trying to comprehend what he had said. After he had left in a scurry, and Annika had stood on the same spot for a long, long while, a blush unknowingly crept up her cheeks.
While on another side, Shivaay couldn't stop smiling as he drove towards his house.
