As promised a troll post.
With all the negativity lately, I just want to make it clear that I troll out boredom not hate. I know it may not seem like it, but I promise there is no hate in my heart there is only mild sarcasm. I would never intentionally hurt or belittle anyone because at the end of the day fictional characters are human too and their feelings should be respected. I'm taking a risk because with his huge fanbase I know a lot fans are going to be upset that troll post is about Mr. SSO. Put your fangirl heart aside for a moment and think about this logically. It had to happen with everything that's been happening on the show.
While his fanbase is huge, but I feel like some fans don't see the value of the one and only Mr. Svetlana Singh Oberoi. He is an intelligent villain with leadership skills, business acumen, and the physical endurance to out run a trained officer, who hasn't exactly been shown to be good at her job to celebrate karva chauth with his wife. *swoons*
Athletic husband goals. I'm sold.
Here's all you need to know about nefarious Abhay.
1. Who is he? He is their cousin, which means he is a part of the OBEROIS! I bet shouting OBEROIS is as fun as typing it.
2. What does he want? It's a mystery. The best evil plans are the mysterious ones. It's top secret and you can't expect him to speak his plans aloud for the entire world to hea- oh nevermind it's Oberoi ki barbaadi. He just said it now ...so that's what he wants I did NOT see that coming. I find his accommodating yet vengeful personality extremely pleasant. No, the writers weren't confused about his purpose in the story. He was in stealth mode, so no one suspected him. It worked because I had no idea he would ended up being a villain. He brought organic mehendi. How can someone that environmentally conscious be evil? That's impossible. Blew my mind at the reveal.
3. Why is he here? A factory fire he doesn't have all the details about. Honestly, who needs details when you want to destroy lives. The most sinister villains are the spontaneous ones. So, let's go with the factory fire burned away all his privileges as an Oberoi so he is here to avenge his father, reclaim his position, and deliver organic mehendi. Does he have evidence? Nope, Svetlana stolen it from him.
By the way, queen of the hairflips is back.
*wild applause*
4. What are his achievements?
Orchestrated a hit and run that led to a two-week lapse in the story. Where was Shivaay? In the hospital? Being held captive in a really nice hotel suite? What happened in the two-week gap in the story? You're curious, aren't you? You will never know. That's how evil his plan was. Absolutely ...
He had me questioning Dadaji's loyalty. Dadaji would never stray. I can even believe I thought that was a possibility. I lowkey hate myself for not understanding sindoor ki keemat after all Daadi's lectures.
Blackmailed Shivaay, which led to shocking "Tanya meri wife hai announcement. Blackmail and Shivaay? This has never been done before in the history of the show.
Separated Shivika with a fake biwi, Tanya. The villainy is multilayered here. So, basically the fake biwi is his real biwi. Mindblowing, right? Wait for it ...it gets better because Abhay uses his REAL biwi to blackmail Shivaay into denouncing his REAL biwi, Anika. Two wives and marriages disrespected for the price of one. How amazing is that? Wait there is more. Party A knows within seconds that party S is being blackmailed conclusion: the evil plan is a success. This was huge blow to Shivika. It's not like the writers ruin any character progression by randomly making them generally blase about their marriage with public declaration of 3rd angles as the wife or bahaarwali jokes that leads to a delayed reaction to the disrespect only to have the hurt feelings swept under the rug with an insensitive "you're jealous for a badly constructed conflict that ends up being resolved with a literal leap of faith from an airplane. That would never happen because that's just silly.
Appointed Tanya, that his REAL wife to monitor all Shivaay's moves, which she did an amazing job at. Shivaay slept in another room and left the house at his own discretion whenever he wanted, and even took a trip to Goa. Well played, Abhay. Well played.
He separated Rikara...no wait that wasn't him it was creepy I'm holding your pregnant friend's shaadi hostage Ajay. Okay, so Abhay wrote a really mean letter than hurt someone else feelings. He made Gauri cry so that counts as an evil deed.
The poor girl was heartbroken. Boo evil Abhay! Booo!
Abhay's biggest achievement was his contribution to Tanya's growth as a character. She was a simple oversmart girl that had no qualms pretending to be an already married man's wife.
What were her goals? To be with her REAL husband.
What did she need? To be loved not needed.
She never got in the way of his plans and did as she was told happily hugging him in the open, waltzing into his room, and failing at every task assigned to her. During her short stay at OM she was a team player, but she also knew when to draw the line. What was that line, you ask?
Being manipulated in to pretending to be another man's wife? No.
Some light physical abuse coupled with taunts about her intelligence? Nahi.
Guilt from ruining innocent people's lives? Nope.
Shame from trying to force a married man into sharing a room with you? Uh-uh.
Celebrating Diwali? Yep.
Did she thirst for revenge? No, she just wanted to go the mandir and celebrate Diwali with her husband in an atrocious outfit like every married couple in IB. He crushed her dreams and her love for him like the ladoos he scattered around the room. Yes, she loved him, but she loved Diwali more. She proved herself to be a real strong female protagonist by walking out on a soulless monster that doesn't celebrate Diwali.
It's Diwali...I mean who doesn't enjoy Diwali? A nefarious villain that's who.
Skills
Multi-tasker: He is good at running errands. Blew something up for Shivaay, bought then destroyed a priceless painting for Om, and delivered Rudra a bodyguard along with a fashion house. Where did he get the money to do all of this if everything was taken away from? Okay, so I know the answer, but that's sensitive information. Sorry.
Expectational lurker: Standing the background watching people is hard work just ask Pinky. It takes skills to stand eerily behind someone...just watching them as you vow to destroy them. Only ninjas possess this skill. Have you ever seen a ninja plotting your baraadi? Didn't think so.
5. Why did he marry Svetlana?
Nothing gets in his way not even logic, oversized sweaters, or Diwali. He'll do whatever it takes to complete his plans despite not knowing exactly what he wants. That's why he became Mr. Svetlana Singh Oberoi. He is important to the story and it's not because the writers needed a point of entry for Svetlana. Svetlana stole his evidence to help him because she cares, not because she thinks he is a useless pawn. There's more to him than you think. Those under the impression all this intense arc buildup, character decay of your faves, rebooting old Shivaay scenes, and his plans for Oberoi ki baraadi don't matter anymore because Svetlana is back are sourly mistaken. This isn't fauxshadowing...there is a point to his character. A very very very important point. If Abhay isn't a game changer then my name isn't Priyanka, which it is...so that means he will be a game changer. 100% confirmed. I'm warning you guys Mr. SSO is going to do some real bad stuff.
6. Why was he on fire?
Note: No fictional character were hurt in the making of this troll post.
Also, Ishqbaaaz 2.0 is a thing now so be prepared because ...
