I think the reason why some people have a problem with it is because Gauri felt she embarrassed Omkara, which now led to her learning English and the understanding that she's learning the language for him and not for her. She's known to be smart despite the fact that her education was limited, she was always resourceful enough to get by. The whole art show thing led to her taking lessons (though I always thought it was bound to happen anyway, just not in this way)

One of the issues with Rikara has always been about Gauri's self-respect. Gauri didn't want to go to Omkara's art show and her mentioning self-respect and then Shivaay convinced her to go and to be Omkara's wife etc. Keeping this in mind, it depends on how the whole learning English track is played out, in relation to Gauri and her self-respect. Gauri wants to keep her lessons a secret from Omkara, which is cool and all, but I would like it if at the end of it all, she clarifies that she did it for herself. Not because she felt that she had to learn English to fit in with Omkara's world, but because it's something she wanted to do so that she'd never feel confused and helpless like that again.

My thoughts are all over the place and I had to rewrite this like 3 times😆 Hopefully I got my point across 🤔

I think CVs bought in this track only to develop a 3rd angle for Rikara, so that the good looking teacher can fall for her and Om will get jealous on seeing her with him. Don't think there's any other reason to introduce this.
