This is an analysis of all three of our Ishqbaaaz couples and just to be clear, it's NOT a comparison post. Feel free to discuss and comment whether on all the couples OR the one of your choice, as long as you don't get into the 'this jodi is better than that jodi' debate. :)
ShivIKa
Out of all the three couples, I think Shivika have the most similarity as characters. What did we know about Shivaay Singh Oberoi from the beginning? That he is proud, obstinate, driven, forthright, extremely loving and fiercely protective of his family and a very capable man. He is completely worthy of the name he has earned in the business world and not just a product of nepotism. Similarly, Annika has always been proud, headstrong, outspoken, determined and a loving and protective sister and most importantly a self-made woman. They have always been similar in essence. The only difference between them was that while Annika considered everyone to be equal, SSO valued NKK above all else. But NKK was not his core belief, because mind you, those are very hard to change. His NKK views were just superficial ideals instilled in him. Pinky's NKK beliefs are core beliefs which is why they are very hard to change.
His NKK beliefs were like a transparent, glass wall between them so he could see through them. When he met her the first time, that glass barrier was shaken by the blow of Annika's bat on his windscreen. But after clashing with her a couple of times, he started seeing her for what she is. HIS EQUAL.
Remember how Om said that SSO wouldn't fight with anyone he doesn't consider his equal at the time of Ganpati Puja? Through the barrier, he saw Annika as an equal, someone who was worth his time and attention even if it was just a battle of ego at that time. In a twisted way, he actually gave her a great deal of respect at that time despite her lack of NKK. He wouldn't have engaged into a battle of ego and tadi with her, if he didn't believe she was capable of it.
He didn't believe in love and She didn't believe love was meant for. So both were also skeptical about love.
Eventually Annika became the catalyst for the change of his NKK ideals and dissolved that barrier. Every time they had a face off, Annika shook that barrier little by little ultimately making it crash.
Now with the glass wall gone, Shivaay and Annika are the same in every way. Both strong and unyielding, tadibaaz, capable putting up a great fight, willing to make any sacrifice. Both love each other and others strongly and openly. Both are foundations and stand as a Great Wall, for each other as well as their loved ones.
To sum up ShivIka :
SHIVIKA represents EQUAL
RiKara
Omkara is the sensitive soul nursing deep wounds. Despite seeing the unhappy marriage of parents, he still grew up as a believer of love, which is why he could recite poems about love and give lectures about love to others. Yes he was always a commitment phobic but he was open to love at the beginning. Because love was a part of his core belief. It defined him. But as time progressed, his core beliefs about love and trust started to become tainted. The belief is still there, but he has become more cynical.
Think of it as one of his pristine, white sculptures, which is now covered with dust and muck.
So what is Gauri? Gauri represents that untainted white sculpture. The PERSONIFICATION of his core beliefs. She is everything he believed in and is still there deep down in his heart, but has become polluted. It is up to Gauri to clear that muck and make the sculpture shine again. Which is why Gauri needs to be so pure and simplistic, in order to make him see that what he believes deep down actually exists for real.
To sum up RiKara :
RIKARA represents SELF
RuVya
This is tricky because Ruvya are still at a nascent stage. Rudra is the least complicated of the three brothers but his simplicity works in two ways. While it makes him pure and childlike, he is yet to understand the intricacies of relationships. He sees a pretty girl and becomes infatuated. He still doesn't understand what's ahead. Bhavya on the other hand is his opposite. She is mature, has a job and is older than him. While he is the pampered baby of the family, she is a self made woman with no family.
Bhavya is forcing him to get out of his comfort zone, making him question things. He has notions about love and relationships. She makes him question life.
They are both at opposite ends and she is his LADDER for growth as well as his DESTINATION. He is her key to emotions and family.
To sum up RuVya:
RUVYA represents OPPOSITE
The three couples represent three facets of relationships and marriage. Each of which is a necessity.
In love and in relationships, partners must be Equals. This is what brings balance and stability.
In love, the other person becomes your mirror image. Your partner represents your Self.
Being Opposites mean being Yin and Yang, one partner completes the other.
