Dear Rikarians 🤗
First a shout out for all those who liked the previous ramblings and left ther impressions behind. I love you all... I still have to get back to a few.
Here's me rambling yet again... Blame Kunal and Shrenu in the garbs of Omkara and Gauri to cast their spell on me and all the DKDs and other sane shippers of Rikara. This is purely my take on Rikara after Omie's outburst. I loved the way the episodes have been unfolding from the outburst... first of Om and then Gauri. Kuddos to these blessed actors who breathe life in Om and Gauri. Take a bow Kunal and Shrenu. You guys desreve every praise coming your way and more.
Well coming to the below rambling... as aforesaid its a different take on Gauri's reactions and words. I know she hasn't mastered English yet and that was so well depicted in the fumble that she went through while profusing her love to Omkara in the episode. But what if she did master... hypothetically... just for me to ramble and get my jumbled thoughts out of my system. What if we all did get a second chance? Don't we all like it?
The ramble is on the same lines... over to you without much prologue on my ramblings lets Hit it...
STTTOOOPPP!
I forgot the gifs!!! What the Fudge!!!

He had gone and done it again. He had shown her the stars and she was so besotted with the view and the hopeful canvas of her dreams adorned her mind's eye all thanks to a certain artist. She kept twirling like a ballerina unaware of the terrains, for her eyes were lit up towards the stars and the effervescent moon. With each twirl she neared the cliff and yet she twirled, for she knew he would be there to hold on to her. And just as she took the leap of faith, he held her by a loose clasp of hand. She did not deter, not until she saw the darkness grow in his eyes. And then he let go. Plunging her into the dark abyss of uncertainty and pain yet gain. The merciless waves and undercurrents of his malignant words that met her and lashed at her, had her breathless and gasping. Her cry for the rescue had yet again fallen on deaf ears. He yet again had abandoned her unceremoniously.
As she stood there seeing him go, she realized- she couldn't do to him what he did to her. And with her mind set on a certain Oberoi and the unwinding of certain happenings and facts that were needed, she set towards the place she had come to think of as home. Well home was where the heart is and her now broken bruised heart was still with her long haired Jatadhari Hippie.
Shrouded in darkness that his life was synonymous with, he sat in a charred corner of his studio. The mirthful doe eyes stared back at him from the half burnt photo that lay near his feet. The day before, he couldn't help dousing out the fire that had maliciously licked at her photographs and paintings, the day he had lit them. The smoky air was filling his being, synonymous with his current state.
"Omkara ji" a choked voice called out for him but he did not even spare a glance at the source.
Being the undettered Gauri she continued, "I'm Sorry."
A mocking chuckle ran down his throat as he raised his eyes to her. She was still clad in the pristine white saree, the first ever that he had bought for her. She had the audacity to come back- well wasn't that her signature act? Always coming back to him. But he would give her a fitting reply- His Silence.
Knowing that she had to do her talking before he changes his mind and zips off as always, she went on with her un rehearsed monologue. Well she had meant to say so many things but not the very words that would be filling in the silence now.
"I'm Sorry... Not for being married to you, but that it had to happen in the way it did."
"I'm Sorry... Not for the ties that I built with your family, but that I wasn't able to keep them intact."
"I'm Sorry... Not for being a 5th grade pass, but that I was the reason for your unease."
"I'm Sorry... Not for what you perceive me to be, but for not being able to fight your demons that have kept gnawing at any hope that our relation ever had."
"I'm Sorry... Not for being Gauri Omkara Singh Oberoi, for that I never was, but for not being the Gauri kumara Sharma that I once was."
"For if I was still the Gauri I once was, I wouldn't have let this happen."
He hadn't blinked his eyes, even once. Her words had shocked the daylights out of his Muscle of Riolan. As he was taking in her Sorrys laced in twisted English and decoding them, she resumed her verbal onslaught.
"There are many more things to be sorry about, but then I guess I have more to be thankful about-"
"Thank You for giving me a life, for I know how it feels when death chased me."
"Thank you for giving me a family, for I know what it is to be bonded with those very firm yet fragile ties."
"Thank you for giving me my mother, for I know what it takes for a woman to call an orphan her own."
"Thank you for giving me a friend, for I know what it is to be a best buddy."
"Thank you for giving me uncountable memories, for now I will have something to live by, something to miss. I will finally have the remains of my time with you." Saying so, she plopped herself beside him. As he saw her face in the moonlight that streamed in through the fluttering curtains he saw for the first time the aftermath that his words had left behind. She looked tired, with her kohl tracing down her cheeks, tousled hair and yet in her eyes he could see himself. Her eyes unwavering held him under her spell.
She broke into the most remorseful smile ever, her gaze unwavering from him. "Our words have hardly helped us and our silences always had their story to tell. And yet today I take these very words to tell you a story of a little chiraiyya."
"There was a little sparrow, happy with her short flight, her small nest and her small sky. She never desired for the heights that the mightier birds soared to. But she desired to be free. With the hawks looming up in the sky, danger was always around, but she was strong for she believed in her wings. Then one day the very hawks clipped her wings and she couldn't fly anymore. Bruised she lay there.
Then came a phoenix blazing in fire who took the hawks by surprise and happened to save the sparrow. Being the majestic one among the winged, he marked the sparrow as his and the vultures never had a say. Just when the sparrow hopped towards the Phoenix, happy at being alive, he abandoned her and took a flight high up leaving no trails behind.
The sparrow's wings were clipped but she had her hopes and she took a flight and landed into the land that her Phoenix hailed from. She met her Phoenix in disguise and he took a liking towards her. Living with the phoenix had let her know his very reason to burn himself to ashes every single time to resurrect and save his loved ones from his very own set of Vultures, Hawks and Ravens. And the sparrow saw herself in him. The Phoenix found a sidekick and buddy in the disguised sparrow and had her tail him in every adventure.
In one such duel the Phoenix saw through the disguise and saw the clipped wings and recognized the sparrow and was hurt at being betrayed, unknown of the fact that the sparrow had done so to save him from the Raven. He abandoned her yet again. This time, leaving her behind with her hawks. The wings that had slightly grown again had been clipped. The hawks thought that this would be her end. What they forgot was she still had her hope and she still surely had her tiny claws. Sharp enough to put up a fight with her predators.
As she limped back to her nest she found the Phoenix awaiting her. He wanted her to accompany him to fight a duel- she owed him one for saving her long back. She agreed as always. With her clipped wings and limping foot she entered the cage that ceremoniously sat at the big Oak tree. She was after all only a bait used to draw the raven out. While the Phoenix did whatever he did for his loved ones, she did it for the unnamed ties that she had developed with his kith and kin. In the love that she received she had forgotten he identity - that she was a mere sparrow.
Then came the times when the phoenix time and again belittled her for he felt that she was raven behind the disguise of a sparrow. With every accusation that came her way a feather detached, leaving her forever. But she stuck by. She did have a few small flights of escape, but was brought back every time by his kith and kin. She stuck by when the phoenix wanted her to stay, but then she needed to know why? What was she to him? For she was losing her feathers at a rapid pace. If she had to fly, she would have to do that before she would be devoid of any of her feathers.
The phoenix could never understand that he could raise from the ashes every given time, but she was just a sparrow. The flames of his fury would always burn out her feathers.
Then came the day when the Phoenix was in flames again and he pulled the sparrow for the flight. To show her what he thought of her, to show her his perspective about her. She was scared for she had never taken a flight so high, but she went along, unaware that she was on flames.
It hurt her every time he turned into ashes. She wished he did not have the need to do so. To put himself in fire to raise again and flap his majestic wings and taking a flight into darkness, leaving her behind yet again.
As she lay there, she realized, she couldn't take flights with him anymore, for this time along with burning all her feather, her Phoenix had clipped her HOPE. In that moment she knew, their story was never meant to be but then it needed an apt ending."
All this while Omkara had been taking every word of her to his heart and it had known who was who in this story of the little sparrow. She had narrated the story in a manner that had gripped his heart and wrung it all the way possible. Every time she spoke of the hawks, vultures and the raven, he saw her toes curl up as if reliving those fearful moments. Every time she spoke of the Phoenix she spoke with respect and with a very deep emotion that he couldn't lay his finger on, no yet. He wished he hadn't heard the story. He wished he had barged off the room as she had entered in. Then he would not have been subjected to the guilt that was trapping him in its vice grip. As the familiar guilt took over, his breathing became labored and it took just a nanosecond for the little Sparrow to scoot herself towards her Phoenix. Her warm hand rested on his heart as she wiped the tears that found its way to his stubbled chin. She couldn't see Her Jatadhari with his head stooping low and holding his chin with the tip of her hand she raised his drooping head.
"Omkaraji, I have come all this way to give you all that you deserve and that which I have at my end to offer. You deserve all my Sorrys, all my Thankyous. But what you deserve the most is a Goodbye. I have worshiped you and I could never leave without a goodbye or without looking back. Know that you are loved and are understood and trusted. I hope someday you trust me enough to love me back. Till then I leave you in your silence and freedom and..."she let the rest of the words drown in her succeeding actions.
She propped herself up to raise to his level and cupping his cheeks in her tiny warm palms, she left a chaste kiss on his forehead, lingering few moments more than that was necessary. Drawing back, she saw him looking at her, his eyes screaming with the emotions that she had known, but the ones he needed to realise.
"Of all the people I have known and hold close to my heart- You are the one that has a part of me with you. That's the only un-charred part of me- my heart. Please take care of it, for I have never loved someone so fiercely and never will, for its in your flames that I let all my feathers burn. You are free to soar high my love, as I walk back with the words and silences of our unfinished story. The day you chose to fly back home to me, remember I'll be right where you left me."
And with that she rose up and whispering an I LOVE YOU, she turned and walked off, out into the dark, knowing well that her Phoenix would burn down again only to rise, and hoping that when he would seek for his little sparrow, she would have grown her wings of HOPE back.
That's all Folks!!!!... Rambling done for now... I thank all those who sat through these muddled and sleepy thoughts and faced the typos with valor. You guys are 🤗.
Leave your sane thought behind... as always ramblings are welcome too... would love to hear from you...🤗
Till we meet again,
Love and Hugs
Sneha
P.S.:
And just cause I mentioned Phoenix... and know that there are few Potterheads here... here's your treat dearies... Fawkes, in all its glory!!!
Sneha!! *hugs*Sorry, read it late. This is SO beautiful. I'm not good with gifs but I can always write a feedback?! This was amazing, a continuation I would have loved to see instead of the insane scene that we got later on. Wouldn't want to go into that or I'll go off on a rant and you'll haave to throw me off.Thank you for the mention! It's always a pleasure to speak to you! *hugs*I loved how you explored his fear that the thought of her leaving evokes in him, him breaking down in the corridor. Then th tinkling of anklets as his own guardian angel arrives, rushing in to save him from pain and heartbreak unaware that she herself is the cause of the tears on his face.It was described so beautifully! You should seriously write more. RiKara needs more writers because of reasons we all know!!Thank you for this lovely piece. I'll take this as canon and ignore the kitchen scene no matter how pleasing Omkara looked :)
