Hey all... Here's a depressing piece from me. It has no happy ending... or maybe it does. Perspective matters.
Thank you for the love and support... I hope you all like this one too...
The past is highlighted in blue! Do enjoy and let me know!
Waada
"Omkaraaa jiii a shrill scream escaped her lips as she made a mad run towards her husband. Kaali Thakur smiled as his index finger applied pressure on the trigger of the gun, pointing it towards the long-haired man who dared to not only steal the woman he and his brothers lusted after, but also marry her. He could very well see the fear in Oberoi Sahab's eyes; Not the fear of his own death, but fear for the woman he fell in love with despite marrying her against his own will.
Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Iske alawa aur koi chaara nahi hai Omkara ji. Sultana ji ne badi hi chalaaki se Maaji ko uljhaake rakha hai, Sasur ji bhi iska koi hal nahi nikaal paa rahe hain. Aap samajh kyun nahi rahe hain? Agar humne Sultana ji ki baat nahi maani, toh woh kuch bhi kar sakti hai; aapki Maa ko jail bhi bhej sakti hai." Gauri tried reasoning with Omkara, who kept pacing the room like a hungry caged lion. Swetlana had strategically trapped Jhanvi and the Oberoi Family with a video clipping that showed an accidental murder of her obsessed lover. Swetlana had then placed a condition that she would change her mind about releasing the video into the media's claws, only if Gauri came ahead, alone of course, to negotiate with her. Omkara had already known how dangerous and downright dirty Swetlana could play her cards, and he could already sense the danger that Gauri was planning to put herself in by obliging to Swetlana's threats. "No Gauri. I won't let you go. I don't care what Swetlana's demands are, but I cannot let you go!" He said, pausing for a minute, and then resumed pacing the room. Rudra and Bhavya who were present in the room too agreed with Omkara. "Lekin Omkara ji..." "No, Gauri, and that's the end of the discussion" But Gauri being Gauri was adamant, and after a lot of convincing and pleading, Omkara had given in only on one condition, despite her protests- "You aren't going alone." Bhavya had offered to provide a heavy police protection with the best of the undercover force, and the four of them had hatched up a plan to not just obtain the video footage from Swetlana, but also to trap the cunning woman in her own trap she had made.

Bang!
A fourth gunshot was made. A huge number of policemen gathered around Gauri and Omkara, and another group of policemen ran towards Kaali Thakur who was shot by Bhavya in his leg, and had dropped the gun he had just fired. A wicked smile still adorned the monster's lips as he said, "Agar woh chiraiyya hamari nahi, toh aapki bhi nahi, Omkara Sahab." A pool of blood formed around Gauri and Omkara. "Kuch nahi hoga... kuch nahi hoga" a whisper of consolation and prayer was heard by the other one. From a distance, Bhavya and Rudra had come running. "Bahut khoon beh gaya. Inhe turanth hospital le jaana hoga... nahi toh..." Bhavya left the statement incomplete, as a pair of eyes stared back at her in horror.

"Are you sure of what you're doing? We can still back out." Omkara asked her again as the car came to a halt, a kilometer away from the godforsaken place where Swetlana had asked Gauri to come. The plan was to follow Gauri closely while she would travel to the said destination in a rickshaw. "Koi chalaaki mat karna Gauri," Swetlana had warned her, "nahi toh ek phone call lagega mujhe Oberoi family ki izzat ki dhajiya udaane." But Omkara Singh Oberoi was determined not to give in to Swetlana's empty threats so easily. He had known of ways to take her down, and this time he would take her down and make her stay there; it would teach the goddamn woman not to mess with him or his family. But somehow, Om also feared for Gauri, and also knew that Gauri was as nervous as he was, and her fingers fidgeting with the end of her shawl only expressed the turmoil within her. "Haan haan, pata hain," She said, putting on a brave face, "Kuch nahi hoga hame" Omkara held her ice-cold hands, and with a gentle squeeze he said, "Aur main tumhe kuch hone bhi nahi doonga." She closed her eyes, allowing his words to sink into her heart and mind. There was something odd about this moment, as if a dark cloud of melancholy hung around them. "Hum jaante hain ke aapke hote huye hume kuch nahi hoga." Omkara felt his heart swell with pride at the faith she had in him. A small smile appeared on his lips and in an instant, he pulled her petite frame against himself and hugged her. "Stay safe, please, mere liye" he whispered in her ears, and she simply nodded in response.

"Critical hain..." the doctor announced to the nervous and anxious trio waiting outside the Operation Theatre, "We've removed the bullets, but we cannot guarantee anything. I'm not going to lie, but a lot of blood has been lost. We're trying our best, but the bullet wounds are really close to the heart, and that's why..." Bhavya and Rudy look back at the wrecked mess of a person, with blood-stained clothes still muttering "Kuch nahi hoga... kuch nahi hoga..."

"Kaali Thakur?" Gauri exclaimed as she entered the old building, shocked beyond her imagination that Swetlana has teamed up with this disgusting man. On the other hand, Omkara was a mess as he heard Gauri's voice through the headset he wore. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine facing Kaali Thakur again! How did Swetlana dare to drag this demon in the middle of this mess? "Gauri wahan safe nahi hai, Bhavya. Please let me go in." He almost begged Bhavya in the van that was stationed close to the building. "Aapke saath hamari poori fauj jaayegi, Omkara Bhaiyya." she had assured him. And so, in a span of a minute, Omkara and Rudra surrounded by the troop of around 30 policemen lead by ACP Bhavya Pratap Rathore, barged into the building.

"Doctor, the patient is sinking!" The nurse announced. "Kuch nahi hoga... kuch nahi hoga..." the muttering continued firmly, while Rudra and Bhavya prayed for the same.

Omkara stood rooted to the ground, as Kaali Thakur spilled out the entire truth, whilst Swetlana held Gauri tightly. The entire fiasco was brought to light and Omkara fell on his knees when he heard the entire truth from Kaali Thakur. Of course, he had known she was innocent, but to hear the gruesome torture she had to go through, and the thought that he had, not once but several times, left her behind in the hands of this monster. "Main tujhe chodunga nahi, Kaali." Omkara growled and took a step ahead, only to stop when he saw Swetlana pointing a gun to Gauri's head. "Koi bhi hoshiyari ki, toh yeh chhe ki chhe goliyan Gauri ke sarr mein utaar doongi." She spoke, looking at Omkara, Bhavya and Rudra. "What do you want, Swetlana?" Omkara said in a menacing tone. "I want you, Omkara Singh Oberoi..." she had replied shamelessly and continued, "And don't worry Omkara. I've made arrangements for Gauri as well. Once you're mine, she still has Kaali Thakur and his brother too." Omkara's blood boiled at her cheap words, "Don't you dare talk about my wife that way. Woh sirf meri hai, sirf meri." Gauri's eyes welled up at the words she'd been waiting to listen since so many months. Kaali grinned, "Woh teri rahegi, jab tu rahega, Omkara Singh Oberoi!" Pointing the gun in his direction, he spoke, "Ab tu gaya. Aur yeh chiraiyya meri!" Swetlana gulped in nervousness; maybe involving KT wasn't a very smart move. "Kaali Thakur, agar tumne Omkara ko maarne ki koshish ki, toh main Gauri pe goli chalaaungi" Swetlana challenged him; Omkara was her key to the Oberoi Empire treasure. She couldn't afford to let any harm come to him. But Kaali's smirk at her shocked her and he said, "Koi baat nahi. Who ab meri kisi kaam ki nahi. Maar de usey." Bhavya warned KT, "Kaali, gun neeche karo nahi toh I will shoot. Khoon kharaabe se accha hai ke aap aur Swetlana surrender karo. Kyun ki ek baat toh hai. Yahan se aap dono bach kar kahin nahi jaa sakte." Kaali surveyed Bhavya from head to toe as he lowered the gun, and Rudra saw red when KT lustfully licked his lips watching her. "ACP ji, aap itne pyar se keh rahe hain toh kar lete hain surrender," Bhavya almost breathed in relief, surprised at Kaali's quick response; she hadn't expected him to give in so easily. "Lekin ek kaam poora toh kar loon..." Saying this, within a blink of an eye, KT pointed the gun at Omkara. Gauri pushed Swetlana away; "Omkaraaa jiii" a shrill scream escaped her lips as she made a mad run towards her husband. Kaali Thakur smiled as he pressed the trigger.

"I'm sorry, we tried our best, but we couldn't save the patient. I'm sorry Mrs. Gauri Oberoi is no more" the doctor placed his hand on a numb Omkara. It was all finished. He rose from the place he was seated and walked into the place where she lay lifelessly.
***
"Hum marna nahi chahte hain Omkara ji..." She cried in pain, as he cradled her in his arms in the van that was speeding away to the hospital. "Kuch nahi hoga tumhe Gauri, Kuch nahi hoga. Mere hote huye tumhe kuch nahi hoga. I promise." She tried to keep her eyes open; he patted her cheeks desperately trying to keep her from losing her consciousness. "Hum aapse kuch kehna..." She breathed heavily; she knew she wouldn't survive this. She needed to tell him how much she loved this man before silence would take over her forever. "Bolo, main sunn raha hoon..." he said amidst his tears. She could read his eyes. Worry, sadness, anger, love. She smiled and placed her palm on his cheek. He kissed her blood-stained hand and let her blood smear his face. He whispered, "Kuch nahi hoga tumhe... Kuch nahi hoga..."

Jo na keh sakey tum, jo na keh sakey hum
Kehne lagi dono se woh, khamoshiyaan, O Saathiya...

He walked in to see the nurses detach several tubes and wires from her. Her eyes were shut already. He numbly stood beside her and watched her. "Hum marna nahi chahte hain Omkara ji..." "Mere hote huye tumhe kuch nahi hoga..." He had lost her forever, and the regret that he could not tell her what she meant to him killed him from within. "Main usey bacha nahi paaya, Rudra." He said in a voice devoid of emotion, when Rudra hugged his brother from behind. "Nahi O, ismein aapki koi galti nahi" Omkara turned around and smiled at his brother's attempt to pacify him, "Mom ka khayal rakhna" he spoke and walked briskly out of the hospital. "O..." Rudra called after him, but he refused to stop. "Aap jaayiye aur Omkara bhaiyya ko dekhiye..." Bhavya said in a hurry, and Rudra nodded as he tried to trace where Omkara went away.
Omkara sat in his car and drove off at an unimaginably fast speed. Omkara felt no emotion in his heart. No pain, no sadness, no fear. Nothing. She had taken his soul with her, and now the only thing that was left behind was an empty life. Omkara kept driving like a mad man, almost escaping death narrowly several times. His car came to a halt at the edge of a cliff. He looked at his hands, stained with blood; her blood. He looked at the cloudy sky blankly. The clouds were ready to mourn. A few seconds later, his hands began to shiver involuntarily. Closing his eyes, he leaned back in his seat. Minutes later, when it began to pour down heavily, he opened his dashboard and looked at the tiny box. He could picture the condition of his family when they would learn of it; especially Shivaay and Rudra. But they would understand; they had to. And he hoped to be forgiven. "I'm sorry Shivaay; sorry Rudra. But main uss ke bina nahi jee sakta..." he said as he opened the box and pulled out a few syringes.
"Second-in-line Heir To Oberoi Empire's throne commits suicide. Thirty year old Omkara Singh Oberoi was found dead in his car in the early hours of morning. Postmortem reports say that the talented artist had died due to multiple drug intoxication. A few sources claim that the artist could bear the news of his wife- Mrs. Gauri Omkara Singh Oberoi's murder, and thus killed himself.
Far away, in another universe, they held hands and she leaned against his shoulder. "Humse door nahi raha gaya na?" she asked him, poking him with her elbow. He whispered in her ears, "Kaise door rah paata. Apni chiraiyya se itna pyaar jo karta." She looked into his eyes that look back at him with love. "Aur ab se yeh chiraiyya apne jatadhaari hippie pati se door kahin nahi jaayegi" He kissed her forehead at her words, "Waada?" "Waada" she replied as she kissed his lips with a small smile.

And that's a wrap. Good? Bad? let me know!
Oh yes, Swetlana and KT are behind bars, if that information helps.
Thanks,
