"...hisaab baraabar tab hoga jab main Ragini se shaadi karoonga!" He spat in anger.
She gazed up his face painfully. Was it so easy for him to say that?
"Fine." She answered cordially. Looking sideways she closed her eyes. No point crying anymore. She was helplessly in love with this man already.
She glanced up at him one last time just in case, he had changed his mind. He was looking the other way. She walked out, having nothing more to say.
He sat on the couch staring away at the two rings in his hand. A lone tear escaped his eye. Was it so easy for her to let the token of their relationship slip away from her?
His eyes slowly grew fiery in pain and anger. With long strides he left the room, his next action still unknown to himself.
He paused down the corridor near the room, as he heard her voice. She was talking about something to Vikram. He went closer to the wall listening.
"Agar wo tum pe itna Bharosa nahi karta toh tum kyun abhi uss..." Vikram spoke up his thoughts as he saw her. His heart had been affected ever since the first day he saw her. He had grown to like her more when he knew her better. Oh, how jealous he was of that green-eyed man. The man had all that his heart dreamed of,her love, affection, care, everything. It tore him to see her so much in love with her man and yet to get the worse of all. He knew by the talks of the Oberoi town that the two were madly in love. But, he had developed a feeling similar to hatred for her ex-husband. The man was a fool for sure!
"Vikram please. I know..." She started to speak in defense of her love, cutting him off.
But he cut her short. "Tum bahut achi ho Anika, aur Shivaay bahut lucky thaa...par...if he can't trust you then what's the point. He is not sure of his own feelings. Usse ye hi nahi pata hai usse chaiye kya. Aaj haan kal naa. How can you live with that unpredictable man?" He spoke in all earnestly, what he felt.
His bluish green eyes grew painful, Vikram's words were somewhere painted with stark reality. He peeked inside. She seemed lost, perhaps sinking in Vikram's words? The tall man saw her with concern. For once he felt defeated, it was supposed to be him there. Alas, he had perhaps failed?
He was walking up and down by the pool, still thinking about Vikram's words. She came by and stood before him. He sighed looking at her his heart twisted in pain.
"So...kab hai aapki shaadi!?" She asked trying to figure out what was running in his head.
Composing himself, putting up the most brilliant mask of a man who meant business he spoke up, while on the inside a terrible pang rose in his heart.
"Ek galti baar baar karne ka kya fayda! Main baar baar wahi galti nahi karta. You... Marry. Him. Khush...
...Khush rakhega tumhe!" He said blinking his eyes and looking away at the surface of water and the lights behind her. She stood their motionless.
"Galti?" She was his mistake? Was that what he was trying to say!?. What had she done that she done that she deserved such torturous punishment. The love of her life was asking her to marry another man and that she would be happy with it. If she had little strength left after all the sudden jerks the reversed situation had given her since the morning, from cancellations to confrontation, she would have slapped him across the face for that. But wait, did she have any right to? He had taken away all her rights, the day he had shown her out of his life.
"Get Ready, mehendi ke liye. I will check everything." With that he walked out and as soon as he was in the boundary of his room, he banged his fist into the wall, dragging himself along the wall he sat on the window seat. He pocketed out the ring from the upper left pocket and looked at it. He had taken the decision but he wasn't sure whether he was strong enough to let it happen. He kissed the ring holding it close to his heart, as he sat there wretched in anguish.
She dragged herself dressed in a pretty yellow & red, lehenga choli with a multi colored bright duppatta complementing it. She only looked up when she reached their, correction, "his" room. He came out dressed in a simple kurta pajam. He looked up at her. The two shared a painful eye-lock. He forwarded his hand escorting her. If she din't love him as much as she did, she was sure she would have strangled him to death, at the very moment. Both walked down in silence occasionally glancing at each other, with a ray of hope in heart that the very next moment everything might be back to how it used to be,happy. Alas ! the undying hope of human heart.
Tum ho gum ko chupaaye,Main hoon sar ko jhukaaye,Tum bhi chup ho,Main bhi chup hoon,Kaun kise samjhaaye,He gave her a long longing glance. He took a step closer, for once he was willing to let go everything and just hold on to her, when Vikram's words reverberated in his head and pricked his heart. She would never be happy with him. He was unpredictable, a truth he himself was well aware of. He decided to let go off his happiness for her security. Protecting her and her happiness was his top priority. Perhaps this was the reason Destiny had separated them!! She was not safe with him. He would hurt her time and again as he always did, his lack of trust & beliefs would always come in between and make matters worse. And then there was a past, which he still hadn't got over with, he perhaps would never. He took a step backward, while she stood their heartbroken just like him.
She was lost, her eyes searching the air for a ray of hope. The mehendi artist was crafting a beautiful design on her palm. Omkara and Rudra came by, the pain her heart held was felt by them. One scarifice and everything had changed.
Omkara wondered if all sacrifices were jaayas. What's the point of sacrificing what one should love and hold on to ? Love was just that, it was supposed to be held close to the heart and not sacrificed.
Ishq Khuda Hai,
Toh Bandeya Tu Usse Mooh Mod Ta Hai?
Ishq Khuda Hai,
Toh Bandeyaa Kyun Tu Uski Kurbaani Deta Hai?
Ishq Khuda Hai,
Toh Kyun Tu Usse Ussi Ke Naam Pe Kyun Chod De Ta Hai?
Ishq Khuda Hai!?!
Various thoughts in his head, Omkara stood their wondering whether Ishq meant Sacrifice or Ishq Meant Dua!?
The two were doing just that, sacrificing. She had sacrificed his trust and their relationship for his sake. He was doing the same for her happiness. Oh The overwhelming love! What it made the human heart do.
"Ishq ne yun kamli banaaya,
Ki Dil khoob roya, phir bhi kuch nahi kar paya!"
He exclaimed softly and none heard save the woman who stood by him staring up at him. An enthralling smoke GRE on the short lady's face, her own love was narrating the plight of her heart, sadly he din't see it.
"Wo Ishq Hi Kyaa Jisne Naa Sataaya,
Wo Dard Hi Kya Jisne Naa Rulaya!"
He turned slightly glancing at the source of the voice. While she smiled softly admiring Anika's mehendi. Feeling his continuous gaze she tilted her head slightly upwards and met his deep dark eyes. Smiling she looked at Rudra who was cracking up something about Anika's mehendi.
While the elder was lost in deep contemplation of his own. The younger brother, was busy lightning the situation and making everyone laugh with his over the top logic and jokes.
He looked at his feet walking by the rear side corridor lost in a pain of his own. He glanced up slightly to look at her. She was surrounded by everyone including Vikram. He stood their rooted as he saw her laugh. She laughed her heart out at something Rudra had said. A mixed wave if happiness & pain grew in his heart. Happiness seeing her joyous and the pain that of wasn't with him. His gaze turned to Vikram who was laughing looking at her as well. He saw his own family laughing, while he stood their in the shadow, all alone watching them. His decision was perhaps the best. He had to sacrifice his happiness for her sake.
She would at least Live happily than with him.
Jee ve sohneya jeeChaahe kisi ka hokar jeeJee ve sohneya jeeChaahe kisi ka hokar jee
Live My Beloved, Live,Doesn't matter if you belong to some else, but live.He walked in the lonely shadows, sinking in every bit of her. Oh, of only he had at least found out the reason of her mirth, he would have found it to be himself. Rudra brought up another happy memory of the past. She smiled remembering that day. The day when they had gone looking for the Phokat Raja photo. She smiled and giggled at the memory. While he smiled at her sadly, still wondering whether he could let her go. Of course he could do anything for her. And he would.
Hansti basti rahe woh raaheinJinpe chalta tuMeri bhi galiyon mein aata jaata kal tha tuAaj bhi yaad hai mujhe aahatAaj bhi yaad hai mujhe aahatTere kadmon ki...Jee ve sohneya jeeChaahe kisi ka hokar jee
May those roads that you take,Always be happy and flourishingEven in the roads of my heart ,You used to come at once.I still remember, to this day, the echo of your footsteps.Live My Beloved, Live,Belong to someone else and live. She turned her gaze, as a string in her heart pulled to tell her of his presence. He stood resting his elbow on the pillar, his eyes gazing her. She straightened up her eyes interlocking in a gaze with him. She just wanted him to walk up to her and tell her once again, "Let's Cancel The Whole Damn Thing". Why was he looking at her like that. He needs to get into action!
Yahaan tere bin patjhad sa haiYahaan tere bin patjhad sa haiHar ek mausam hi...Jee ve sohneya jeeChahe kisi ka hokar jee..
Here, without you, Every season is like fall.
He wanted to capture in his eyes as much of her as he could. But no matter how much he saw her it would never suffice. Until now he had enjoyed the Spring, the Monsoon, now it was autumn. The leaves were falling one by one. And soon a cold freezing never ending winter would stay, forever. But at least she would see the sunshine and the rain. She wouldn't have to bare the cold. He was like winter in her life and she was pure soft sunshine. They were never meant to be. He sighed, slowly turning away, he din't want to be weak she would be gone tomorrow. But she would always leave a part, a part that would be buried down in his heart, hidden forever in him.
Maana ki tu ab nahi meraKabhi tha mera bhiJee ve sohneya jeeChahe kisi ka hokar jee Tu chahe kisi ka hokar jee..
I understand that you are no longer mine,But you were once mine also.Live My Beloved Live,Doesn't matter if you would be someone else's, but Live.
She looked at herself in the mirror. " Vikram is a nice man, I have done his background check. No bad habits, no bad past, no bad record, nothing bad! He doesn't even get angry, no anger issues at all, he is a gem. He is tall also, you will...be Happy!" The words echoed for the tenth time in loop, the words he had told her that morning. He had left her the most exclusive designer bridal wear and antique jewellery, as per her taste. How could that man be so happy to get her married to someone els sand say she would be happier with that man. She had once again failed to understand the man she had crazily irreversibly fallen for. Once again he made her cry. Where was this all going. She wiped her tears. If this was the test of her love, their love, she would happily give it, at the cost of anything -- anything.
The mansion was decorated to compete with the bride. The Bride was decorated with pain, hurt and the scars of love. The Mansion with bitter sad emotions of the people that dwelled within and memories that remained history now. Even the greatest of judges couldn't tell who won, the bride or the mansion. Or perhaps the man who "once" owned both - the bride and the mansion.
She descended down the stairs wondering where every step would take her. He stood afar downstairs right opposite. Her eyes were fixed at just him what was he doing!? Why was he doing!? She could see the pain, the hurt, the anger and the anguish, every bit of it all.
He saw the every step she took. Wondering whether it would lead her to him or away from him. The mandap was right in between their ways. There was one day when he had hidden her from the world and married her when she din't want him to. And today when she wanted him to do just that hold her hand and take her to the mandap and tell her at least, if not the world that she was only HiS, he stood there -away, looking at her go-- away from him. Rather he was pushing her away. Away from his heart, away from her home--his heart.
If gazing at the loved ones was enough for the Love to win,
They would have won.
The windows of their hearts their eyes were also unable to say the unsaid, because they were clouded with pain, pain of love.
Tu vekh te lai aaj rajke, Apne sariyan nuCheti apne nahi milde
Look as much as you can today,At the faces of your dear onesYou won't get this chance againHe slowly started stepping backward with every step she took to the mandap. He couldn't see it all. He knew he would never be able to, he had made the required arrangements. She knew she couldn't take the big step, but she was doing all of it to know what his heart really held for her. If not his, no one's. Her eyes accused him. His heart prayed for only her happiness, only for HER. The stupid loving heart was praying for what he himself was undoing.
Je banno paave khushiyan, Te dil dariyan tuPaave armaan sab dil de
May the bride get all the happiness, From her loved onesMay she get all the wishes of her HeartThe moment froze. One more step and she would be at the mandap, where another man waited. He gulped. As all went still.
Omkara held Gauri's hand, he was scared at what the two were doing. His fear was just this. Fear of Relationship and its breaking. He knew what Shivaay was doing. He had to keep his promise.
She blinked looking at him fearful and in pain. She glanced sideways at Shivaay and then at the other side of the mandap at Anika. She had a promise to keep, she had to be the guardian of Anika's heart. Helpless she stood there. She held his hand in a strong grip, with her two tiny hands. He nodded at her, both knew things were terribly wrong. But also knew that they had no say over Love, over Ishq.
Ishq Vicch Kamle Thee Dono,Ishq Ka Hi Haq Thaa Unpe. Both stood their supporting each other. Looking at the other two, strangely feeling the pain of "their" hearts.
Ajeeb Hai, Ishq Ke Kaayde,Pal Mein Baadaye, Pal Mein Ghataaye Faasle.
She climbed up the step to the mandap and at the very moment he turned away and walked out. Without giving a look behind, he couldn't be weak now.
Tears slipped down and her gaze now disappeared after him. For once couldn't he just make things right? Dint she deserve even that much, after all that had happened!?
He stumbled as he reached the car, he turned behind to look at the Mansion. He would only come back after she was gone. He couldn't see her go,away, forever. He drove on the dark roads, reminiscing every moment he had spent with her.
Sach Hai Ke Dil Toh Dukha Hai,Humne magar socha hai,Dil Ko Hai Gham Kyun,Aakhn Hai Namm Kyun,Hona Hi Thaa Jo Hua Hai,Uss Baat Ko Jaane Hi Do,Jiska Nishaan Kal Ho Naa Ho..
It's true that the heart is hurt,But I've thought thatWhy is there sorrow in the heart? Why are the eyes wet? What happened was supposed to happen?Let those things be goneWhose signs may not be there tomorrow !He sighed as he got on the chopper, looking down as the distance from land grew. While somewhere in a cold room, she slumped down on the floor, holding the nuptial chain close to herself.
