Part 1
The woman who had broken his wall. Who had the audacity to enter his world the moment she broke his windshield. Who never left his thoughts, ever since their first encounter. The one who owned such beautiful brown orbs that he would lose himself in. Myriad emotions flew through him. Guilt. Pain. Anger. Why did she have to look so pale? The little subconscious whimpers, letting out something terribly brutal.
She had run out rubbing her shoulders off his touch, she was probably disgusted of him. He couldn't go behind her. His presence would hurt her even more. He felt his chest constrict as he saw her again crumbled on the cold floor, in one corner of his over sized hall.
If she had valued herself a bit more, If she had not sold herself for a petty few lakhs, If she knew that he would have offered the whole world on her feet just to make her his for life. If he had dared to make that choice! Regret and anger bubbled through him.
...
Shivaay hardly saw Annika after the reception night. He could sense her frequently, somewhere near and yet too far to reach out. His brothers and sister would give her company. Dadi and BadiMaa would also care for her. But he was restricted from meeting her ever since.
...
Post the announcement, Tia had moved into the Mansion and almost into Shivaay's room. But, Dadi tried convincing, Annika, to do the post marriage rituals with him as they were the ones married. But she was loud and clear that she would rather choose death than having to do anything with him. Om and Rudra had stood for her and seconded her decision.
Although Shivaay couldn't accept, it somehow hurt him that the marriage meant nothing to Annika. She never wore his mangalsutra, neither did she fill her hair parting with Sindhoor. The sacred thread was left neglected on his dressing table. Shivaay had to hide it in his drawer as couldn't let Tia wear it at any cost. It was hers!
...
He couldn't understand where she could just disappear. How could he not see her once, when they shared the same roof? Had she started working again?
No one talked to him regarding her. Neither he could dare to ask. He had to act indifferent, while his stubborn heart, begged for her presence. He had promised that he will marry Tia in a private affair as soon as he divorced Annika. But he simply felt sick at the thought of it
...
Shivaay felt tired, the emotional and physical exhaustion killing him from within. He could sense her right behind. She stood at the door lacking the sparkling life the she otherwise carried with her. But still no less beautiful, still so perfect. The waves reaching her waist and her perfectly shaped hips swaying slightly as she walked in. He would never be able to express how beautiful he felt at the mere sight. The heaviness in his heart suddenly dissolving and the air around him, filling with life!
His brain needed time, but his body had already reached out and yanked her to himself. The high slits on her grass green Kurti letting his fingers come in contact with her smooth bare skin. Her pretty brown eyes where he would find life and innocence, now held disgust for him. But still the feeling of having her in his arms made him feel complete!
Annika had kept away from Shivaay since the fateful day. She didn't want to stay back in the Mansion either. Seeing her emotionally vulnerable and scarred, the brothers had forced her to stay there for a while.
..
She stood at the door, stunned as she came in front of the beast after weeks. She couldn't help but notice that he had lost a few pounds and his face lost the charm he normally flaunted. Somehow, he resembled an old man weighed down by his sins. His eyes had changed into clear blue, so clear, that she could spot the golden specks in them.
She stood numb as he twisted her arm and yanked her into himself. The dreadful memories replayed in her mind and she felt dread and rage build in her.
As on cue, his brothers walked into the hall and she pushed him away with all her force. breaking into violent screams. Rudra held Shivaay furiously before he could reach out to her again. Om tried pulling him back while Shivaay's words broke the last thread of patience in him.
"You don't know, she is such characterless.."
Rudra punched hard on Shivaay's chin, before he could process, another punch landed on his chest, throwing him against the wall. Om pulled back a fuming Rudy, trying to contain his own rage, only because his brother was suffering from a serious heart condition.
"He can't be our brother O, he is just so bad"
Rudy broke down on Om's shoulders crying and sniffing.
Shivaay coughed as he slid down the wall, his lips bleeding and head reeling. Had his brother done this to him for a petty middle class girl? His vision blurred as he felt his heart squeeze in pain.
Anika felt a momentary pleasure inside her to see Shivaay at the verge of a breakdown. But the next moment she felt bad for the brother in him. Yes, he had used Sahil to break her. But how could she be as terrible as him.
"He was a terrible man, not a bad brother, Rudra"
Annika's confident words made his brothers look at her.
"He has broken me, not you"
She whispered a second later before walking inside.
Shivaay felt as if a weight was released, and dropped into his heart, altogether again!
