And i agree, they knew each other as Chulkara but there are so many things they don't know about each other that are an intrinsic part of their character. They don't know the reason why the other is like that. Omkara definitely doesn't know much about Gauri, only what she wanted to show him. I don't think they have the understanding that's needed to even consider marrying someone. There's just so much history between them, it's not easy.

And I think it takes a lot of time to understand completely. I mean 5 months me toh I don't even call someone a friend, husband/wife toh door ki baat hai.

Forgot to add, they need to revisit their Chulkara friendship, it was beautiful. It would be great to see Rikara acting as friends before their love story starts. I guess friend status would be enough for Gauri if Omkara is sincere about it. Dunno. 😆
