Of Dinner Date and a Blessed fate

I was honestly on top of the world today, and the skip in my steps probably revealed that. Quite a few people in the Oberoi Mansion, including Dadi, came up to me and asked me the reason of my usual chirpy mood being even more jovial today, and I only blushed at the question. I couldn't possibly tell her I was going on a date with her eldest grandson, now, could I? I knew Dadi absolutely loved me and quite possibly even wanted me to be with Shivaay, but it was far too soon to say anything to anyone. Moreover, there was still Tia to deal with. I was probably flying too high thinking that this one date with Shivaay would change the dynamics of our relationship, since he was still an engaged man and I was still his mere wedding planner. But, I was determined to reveal that cheapdi Tia's truth in front of everyone, anyhow.

Speaking of the devil, Tia appeared in front of me as I walked down the corridor to leave the mansion. Seeing her gave me all sorts of michmichis, and the image of her intimately hugging another man that wasn't her to-be husband kept flashing in my head, making me shudder.

"Hey, Annika. You're leaving already? She asked, an overly sweet smile plastered on her face. I put up an even fake smile, and walked over to her.

"Yeah, I actually have somewhere to get to. To a date with your supposed fiance, I wanted to say, but refrained from indulging in this pleasure. "What are you doing here all of a sudden? Aren't you done trying out all the dresses? I asked, since that was all she came to the Oberoi Mansion for.

"Oh, yeah. Done with the dresses. I actually have to try out the matching jewelleries now. I rolled my eyes at her question. As much as I loved to talk to her (note the sarcasm) I had to get going and doll up for my first date with the love of my life.

"Anyway, I should get going. See you around, Tia. I said and made my way outside. Of course, with my 2 Rs. kismat, I realized that I'd forgotten my phone in the room inside, and walked back in. I noticed that Tia was still standing on the same spot, and was talking to someone on the phone in a hushed voice. She kept looking here and there to check if anyone was around, and I quickly hid behind a pillar to hide myself. If she was talking to her lover, this was my perfect chance to gain some information.

"Yes, baby, I'm leaving in a while, She said in a voice barely high enough for me to hear. My eyes widened at her words- this was definitely her lover. I tried scooting closer to hear properly, all the while making sure she didn't spot me.

"The Seal Lounge Resort? I mentally noted down the name of the place as she said it, "Okay, I'll be there. Yes, yes, I promise.

With that, she hung up, and taking a last sneaky look around, went upstairs. Making sure to only move when she was out of sight, I too made my way towards my bae's room.

Shivaay's sense-o-meter seemed to be working just fine, since as I stepped into his room, he turned around to look at me.

"Hey, you're still here? I thought you'd gone home.

"I was going, but I sort of had to ask you something...

I had decided to tread slowly this time, and instead of putting an accusation on Tia directly, I would show him some concrete proof. It seemed like our date night had been post-poned for a certain reason, and I wasn't going to let go of the opportunity.

"Yeah, go on? He said, and I took a deep breath before proceeding.

"Actually, I was wondering where we're going for dinner? I asked timidly, hoping he wouldn't think I was over-enthusiastic about the date.

I mean I was, but he didn't need to know that.

"Oh, um, I was thinking we could go to this new restaurant, The Bistro...

"Can we go to the Sea Lounge? I asked, praying hard he doesn't think wrong of me. Shivaay seemed taken aback at the sudden request, surely.

"It's just, a friend of mine went there recently, and said it was very good, so... I trailed off, beyond embarrassed. When he smiled, however, I breathed out in relief.

"Of course, we can go. It's not a problem, babe.

Sighing in happiness, and giving a wide smile, I turned back, when realizing something, I turned back.

"Did you just call me babe? I asked unbelievingly, and without any subtlety. Shivaay too seemed to realize what he had said, and turned pink in the cheeks.

"Oh, did I? He said, giving a sheepish laugh, "Sorry, slip of tongue I guess.

I nodded slowly, giving him the benefit of doubt, before turning back and grinning madly. How could it possibly be a slip of tongue if he never used such names for the girl who was supposed to be his fiance?

**
I was taking my own sweet time in getting ready, since I wanted to look absolutely perfect for my Shivaay. The mere thought of him ever becoming my Shivaay made me blush. Sahil had once again, without any explanation, been sent to Chanda's house. I shared everything with my kiddo brother, but it was still too soon for him to know anything. Donning the same dress from last night, I did minimal make up and left my hair in its natural state, and twirled around in front of the mirror to take a good look. I sent a prayer upwards for everything to go smoothly tonight, with Shivaay showing up and me being able to reveal Tia's truth. I was busy wondering how things would play out once we got there, when the door bell rang. With it, my heart started thudding in my chest. Opening the door with shaky hands, I came face to face with Shivaay. He looked incredibly handsome in a black suit and blue shirt, and even more so when he gave me a charming smile.

"Hey, He breathed out, and I blushed as he looked me up and down.

"You look beautiful, He said, and I couldn't believe he had actually said that. I was too overwhelmed to even respond with words, and smiled shyly.

"I didn't know this tadibaaz girl can be shy, too. He said, a teasing grin on his face, and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not shy, okay? Now let's go before you remember you have another meeting and leave behind Khanna ji to keep me company! I said, following him to the car after locking the door. He muttered something like "I said I was sorry, and we started out ride.

The car journey had us falling into some light conversations, and even though he made my heart flutter like crazy, it was immensely easy to talk to him. We still fought over stupid things, such as what radio station would play, and teased each other, but the only difference now was, these things didn't annoy me anymore. In fact, I loved these moments.

We reached the Sea Lounge soon, and I was glad Tia had chosen this place since it was actually really beautiful, and gave a romantic ambience. Shivaay had booked a table for us, and we were led towards one of the corner tables in the outdoor garden. I looked around to check if Tia had arrived yet, and mentally cursed her for ruining my first date with Shivaay since now I would be too worried about catching her red-handed rather than enjoying this time wit him. Still, I decided to have fun till she arrived. I had a clear view of the main entrance while Shivaay sat with his back to it, so our seating arrangement was perfect. I would be able to see Tia and her lover as soon as they arrived, and point them out to Shivaay on time. This was crucial for the plan, or she being the chantomayi she was she would just pass off her boyfriend/husband as just a friend. Till she arrived, though, I would make the most of this date of ours.

"So, what do you wanna have? Shivaay asked as he browsed through the menu, breaking my trail of thoughts. I shrugged my shoulders in response.

"I don't know, you order.

I was anxiously looking around as Shivaay placed the order for God knows what angrezi khaana. Once done, he looked at me with what looked like concern laced eyes.

"You alright, Annika? He asked, taking my hand in his over the table, making a pleasurable jolt shoot through my body.

"Yeah, I say, trying to appear normal, "Totally fine.

He gave me a distrustful look, but nodded nonetheless. We fell into an awkward silence at that, not knowing what you did on a date that was so...weird, per se. I usually couldn't keep my mouth shut when it came to him, and didn't know what was wrong with me now. Taking a deep breath, I tried to initiate a conversation.

"So, how's life? I asked, instantly regretting the dumb question.

"Great. Life's great. He said, just as awkward with his tight smile. Thankfully, the food arrived then, and we dig in. It was delicious, I had to admit, and as I complimented him on his choice he smiled.

"Yeah, I have a great choice, He said, and my face fell. Of course, he had chosen Tia for himself.

"I know. Tia, for example, is a great choice. I said, my voice low as I stabbed a piece of poor pasta with my fork. Shivaay seemed to realize what his words had implied, and fumbled to apologize.

"No, I- I didn't mean that, he said, looking adorable as he scrambled to explain himself. "I wasn't talking about Tia. I was talking about y-

He stopped there, eyes widening, and I urged him to continue.

"Talking about? I asked him expectantly, and he just shook his head.

"Nevermind, it's not important. He said, and it was probably my imagination but I thought I saw longing in his eyes. If only he had gone ahead and said it, but no, he would have to be the obstinate baggad billa he was.

Thankfully he initiated a conversation this time, and we succumbed to laughing away and enjoying our time. He told me he was enjoying this date immensely, and I replied back saying of course he was since I was his date. He shook his head in amusement, and muttered Nautankibaaz loud enough for me to hear. We had just started talking about my life, and how Sahil and I were practically each others' life, when I saw her.

Tia.

Entering through the main entrance, with her arm wound around another man's.

I swallowed hard, my heart beating exceedingly fast. Shivaay kept on talking, as I kept my eyes focused on Tia and her man. I hadn't seen his face yet, and when I did, I almost gasped out loud.

It was Robin, her brother.

So she had been talking to her brother over the phone? I looked upwards and mentally asked God why he had to put me in these kind of situations, always. It wasn't my fault, was it? Who even called their brother baby'? Like, ew. But this was Tia I was talking about, so anything was possible. I tried hiding my face a bit, praying hard that Tia doesn't see us and put us in a rough spot. Moreover, if Shivaay got in inkling that I had brought him here because I thought Tia would come too with her so-called lover', he would probably hate me, and I wouldn't be able to bear that.

But as it was, luck had never been on my side, and following my eyes, Shivaay turned to look straight at Tia and Robin, who were walking towards their table. Seeing them, his mouth dropped, and I could see his eye blaze. Turning to me, he gave me a hard, disappointed stare, and I shrunk within myself.

"Really, Annika? He asked, an accusing tone to his voice, "Did you really wanna come here because you knew Tia would be here, possibly with her lover', as you imagined? I can't believe you-

He stopped, because even as we both turned to look at Tia and Robin again, they leaned in towards each other for a lip lock.

"Fhat the wuck?! Shivaay and I both exclaimed, looking at each other in horror.

Sorry about the abrupt ending, I'll update pretty soon! ❤️
