Shivaay opened his eyes and squinted at the bright room in front of him. The bright lights almost hurt his eyes. He stood up off the bed unsteadily and looked down at his dishevelled sight. His clothes were a mess, his hair sloppy. Confused, he ran his hand through the middle if his hair in his signature style. His eyes fell on the glass of lime water on the table and he gratefully took a large swig of it, feeling the throb in his head ease significantly. Shivaay had taken a step towards his bathroom when he felt himself tackled in a bear crushing hug. He looked up shocked and saw a teary eyed omkara clutching him. He hugged his brother back perplexed at the sudden show of emotion by his usually calm collected brother.
"Shivaay, mujhe maaf kardo please, maine bohot badi galathi jardi, mujhe maaf kardo" he pleaded. Shivaay pulled him away and held his brother by the shoulders. After glancing at the earnest repentance in his eyes he wiped the tears away and ruffled his long locks lovingly.
"Shh, shhh, kuch nahi hua hain om, tum thek ho, that's all that matters He assured his brother. Omkara looked up to the brother who meant every thing to him, the man who'd endured so much yet bore everything without complaint.
"Shivaay, ab phir kabhi nahi He promised, meaning it with all his soul. Shivaay smiled at the sincerity and sent a quick prayer up to the lord for taking care of his biggest concern. A part of his business mind wondered how Om had known he had found out and how the situation righted itself but the larger part of him didn't want to linger on the past and hurt his brother any more, what was done was done and they had all emerged from it well.
"Arrey! Obro's moment ho raha hain, humare bina! Came rudi's booming voice as he bound into the room and grasped both of his brothers in a bear hug making both of them wince and later chuckle.
"Bhaiya aap ne mera marks dekha kya? Maine top kiya! He burst out the shivaay as shivaay beamed.
"Sach mein? Shivaay asked thrilled.
"Haan Shivaay, tum kal der se aaye na, aur pata hain yeh sab kiski karni hain. Annika Bhabi ki, unone iss bandar ko padaya aur safal banaya Om smiled, ruffling rudi's hair as rudi winced.
"O sahi bol raha hain bhaiya, yeh sab bhabi ki vajah se hain, ab jaldi cahlo, mujhe zor se bhuk lagi hain! He said, as Omkara chuckled and led his younger brother out to the dining table.
"Shivaay, tu bhi jaldi aaja He called to a dazed shivaay. Shivaay stood there as flashes of last night came back, he remembered the burn of the alcohol, and then suddenly a memory of her holding him against her, soothing him as he broke down. Shivaay felt his cheeks colour as he quickly shook the memory off and headed into his bathroom to shower and dress for the day.

Annika was serving breakfast to Om and Rudra when he walked into the dining room. He was dressed in a simple black suit with a black shirt and checked tie with a matching handkerchief. His hair sleeked back in his usual signature style and his aura restored to its usual demeanour. Annika felt an unexpected, uncalled surge of happiness at his collected presence, a sense of relief washed through her at the sight of his collected, usual self after the broken man she'd witnessed yesterday. He took his seat as she silently placed a filled plate in front of him as he wordlessly started eating. Just then a crash resounded in the room and everyone looked up in shock. Jhanvi aunty had knocked a vase off its pedestal. As annika looked at her she felt nothing but pity. She was completely inebriated, looking as out of control and as broken as shivaay had looked yesterday and so without a thought she rushed forward to catch the staggering woman in her arms before she fell completely.

Shivaay watched as she ran to support his badi maa as he stood up in response. Just then svetlana paraded into the room, making badimaa loose all her senses.
"Svetlana, yeh ek ghar hain kotta nahi, tum galat adress par aayi ho Badi Maa spat at her, her words slurred by the alcohol in her system. At her words everyone gasped and rage shook on svetlanas face as she stepped forward towards badi maa. Before she could advance however, Annika stepped between them.
"Aap yahan se chali jahien She said, her eyes steely.
"How dare you! Tum hoti kaun ho meri raaste kaatne vaali! Bloody Naukar! Svetlana exploded and pushed her with immense force. Shivaay watched as she lost her footing and started to fall, before he ran forwards and caught her tight in his arms before she could hit the ground. His heart was beating furiously, rage coursing through his veins at the act svetlana had committed. He looked down at annika to make sure she was allright when his heart seemed to melt. There she was, her eyes squeezed tightly closed, her fingers clutching at his shirt, fear evident on her face.
"Annika He breathed and she opened her eyes to find herself in his embrace. For a second no-one seemed to move before she collected herself and righted her stance, as he loosened his arms from around her, letting her go. The distance from her cleared his head and the suppressed rage at svetlana returned with it.
"Svetlana! Shivaay boomed as rudra winced at the anger in his brother's voice.
"How dare you! Who the hell do you think you are? Do you have any idea what I can do, what my power is you bloody home wrecker? He shouted.
"Shivaay! Tej Oberoi's voice resounded off the furniture. He strode in to the room and stepped in front of his nephew, expecting him to mellow, however the enraged shivaay did the opposite and stepped up towards him. Shivaay had endured him for years, respected him for decades, however enough was enough. He was Shivaay Singh Oberoi, and no one hurt his family. Not even Tej Singh Oberoi.
"Mat bhoolo ke tum kiss se baat kar rahe ho! Yeh mere liye bohot khaas hain Tej stated.
"Aur mere liye mere ye parivaar sab se zyaada khaas hain, iss ko jo dhuk paunchega main usse nahi chodunga Shivaay bit back. Shock flitted in Tej's eyes before he composed himself.
"Shivaay! Main iss parivaar ka head hoon! He asserted.
"Nahi Mr Tej Singh Oberoi, aap iss parivaar ka head hua karte te. Ab nahi rahe. Shivaay corrected.
"Shivaay! Pinky said, trying to quell her son's anger.
"Nahi, bolne do isse Pinky. Ab paani sar se upar ut chuka hain Daadi approved.
"Mr Oberoi, Oberoi empire ke 65% Shivaay Singh Oberoi chalata hain, iss naate se is ghar ka head toh main hi hua na? He corrected as Tej's mouth gaped open.
"Woh sab tume maine hi diya hain Tej grappled. Shivaay laughed humourlessly before responding in a cold tone.
"Aapne mujhe kuch nahi diya. Main yeh empire sambal sakta hoon issiliye aapko dena pada. Aur agar aap chathe hain toh main abhi hat jaata hoon, lekin aap yeh kabhi nahi karenge kyunki aap ne kabhi ek din bhi mehnet se kaam nahi kiya. Agar main gaya toh oberois bhi gaye, aur yeh baat aap bohot acche se jaante hain Mr Tej Singh Oberoi
"Shivaay maine kabhi nahi socha tha ke tum iss tarah mujhse baat karoge Tej said, shocked.
"Socha toh maine bhi nahi tha Bade papa ke mein ek din yeh sab kehdoonga, yekin ab aap bohot kar chuke. Aapki vajah se mere Badi maa, meri Daadi, mere bhaiyon, aur aaj meri patni ko talkeef, ko dukh pochi, yekin ab bass. Ab aur nahi. Iss aurat ko main ainda kabhi nahi dekhna chatha hoon! Shivaay proclaimed angrily.
"Aur agar main nahi maana toh? Tej asked.
"Toh tab iss ghar mein aap ke liye koi jagah nahi Shivaay said his voice filled with sincerity and promise. Tej looked at the hard azure eyes of the shrewd businessman in front of him and after a minute turned to face his secretary.
"It's over. We're done. Leave He stated, before striding out of the room. Svetlana blinked at the room filled with hate for her and turned and strode out of Oberoi mansion vowing to never step into the wretched household again.
Silence surrounded the room for a minute before shivaay felt himself being warmly hugged by none other than his badi maa.
"Thank you! Thankyou so much beta! Tumne aaj mujhe apni pati, apni zindagi vapas de diya. Thankyou! She cried smiling at her nephew as shivaay smiled one of his rare smiles and hugged her back.
"Voh aapka haq hain badi maa. Aur aap kabhi akele nahin, aake is ghar mein teen bete hain He assured her as she kissed him on the forehead. Shivaay smiled at her before striding out of the room, unaware of the tenderness he'd injected into his wife's heart at his actions.
