The weekend has been hard after watching Shivika break our hearts while breaking apart themselves.
Steeled myself to watch it again where Shivaay finally breaks all relations with Anika. What struck me was his reaction in private. He held himself barely by a thread, same with Anika who was on the verge of breaking down completely. Especially when he was dragging by the hand to the door and flung her out like a piece of trash he called her at first. I will not call it out another sin committed by SSO, adding to the plethora he has against him already.
Shivaay went to his room and saw his reflection first and then started banging his hand against it. That very mirror has held many memories and reflections of Shivika. He kept hitting repeatedly till it broke apart into a million little pieces and the broken shards of glass had Anika's image in them. Very symbolic of his utter devastation and heartbreak that was complete. Blood dripping slowly from his kunuckles, a symbol of his bleeding heart. š š
The mirror is a symbol of physical and spiritual reflection. They are used to reflect our physical images and in our vehicles to alert us to potential dangers. We also use it to preen before heading out. When we consider the mystic, we find that the Mirror alludes to a much higher and sublime purpose Spiritual Reflection.
Just as the mirror reflects all our physical flaws and the world around us, so too does the spiritual mirror reflect the CONSEQUENCES of our actions along with the karmic rewards or punishments which the consequences of our actions have brought upon us. It reflects the people, places and events which are currently a part of the life that has been created (Shivaay and Anika had in the confines of their room, created a world for themselves). We can use our personal mirrors to ponder over our thoughts and actions.
In order for a mirror to cast a reflection, it requires Light. Symbolically, Light represents Illumination, Enlightenment, Wisdom and Awareness. Hope Shivaay is able to honestly evaluate himself and the reason his world lay shattered at his feet, by viewing his current reflection with an Enlightened mind.
The mirrors can only reflect what is Truly before it. Whatever Shivaay sees in his personal Spiritual Mirror is currently the Truth of not only his personality and Reputation (who he is) but also the Truth of the world which he has created around himself. It did not take him long to go back to his old self, barely a second, to his old ways of EVERYTHING IS A DEAL, a COLD Ruthless Businessman.
We have the chance to become better and Shivaay had become a better man, a mellow man, who smiled more, whose heart beat for one woman in particular. He is currently very furious and in shock and hated seeing himself like that, so helpless, missing her already. He had to distort the image of his being on his knees, could not have the mirror reflect that. That Anika brought him to knees in pain, feeling her loss keenly giving a keening cry of anguish while his heart was ripped and trampled upon. Another reason for breaking the mirror is that he was angry at himself for having made a decision to throw out Anika and divorce her. He regrets it and can't bear the mirror showing his regret and pain.
Anika walking on the streets like the walking dead with shock writ on her fact, that it was done. Life had dealt another blow to her. Snatched away her momentary happiness, given her only tears and loneliness as companions.
Anika in Chanda's house was in utter darkness, the state of her mind and life, without Shivaay in it. All light has gone, emptied her soul, keeping her bereft and the enormity of what she had done sunk in slowly, the tears slowly falling. Once they began, it refused to stop, draining her utterly. š š
Narbhi were awesome and exhibited the heartbreak beautifully.
