Chapter Six: I hate you, I Love you

As she reached the pool, it was dead silent and then not a few seconds later she found herself trapped against a pillar and stone singh oberoi. "you threw me into the pool shivaay's voice was dangerously calm which was a reason for her to worry about what he was going to do next. "no one dares to even look me in the eye or say something to me and you threw me into the pool his face inches closer. "I know I pushed you into the pool, you don't have to repeat it and who told you to come to see me, anika says confidently. "no one tells me what to do and now I'll show you what happens to people who dare mess with me. Saying this shivaay picks her up and throws her into the pool.
Anika screams and fights her way to the surface of the water. She sees shivaay standing by the pool, his hands crossed over his chest , " I hope you enjoy your swim, he says mockingly and leaves her in the pool.

Annika comes out of the pool cursing at shivaay, " how dare he? I saved him from being caught in the room and he didn't even say thank you! Enough is enough I want to know what is going on in that head of his and then she looks down at her clothes. " I am all wet because of him... aacchuu!! she sneezes and leaves for prinku's room. "he is soo difficult to understand, you never know which version of shivaay singh oberoi you are with, sometimes he is so sweet, sometimes teasing and most of the time akdu she talks to herself and decides to confront in the morning. "I can't take this anymore, he even made me stay here and if I don't go back I'll be in trouble, I need to know what he wants and then I'll leave this place. And determined annika goes to sleep.

Shivaay was pacing in his room thinking that maybe he was too harsh on her. he was stone hearted when it came to business but he didn't want anika to see him like that. Today when she threw him into the pool something snapped in him, he is not used to be pushed around and that too by someone who is below his status but "Annika is different, isn't she then why did he get angry on her? his thoughts only raised more questions for him.
Also, there was one problem; he was getting engaged to Tia. He knows that he feels something for Annika and he doesn't want to marry Tia but marrying Tia is beneficial for his business. He doesn't want to lose Annika but he can't say no to marriage with Tia.
He was getting a headache thinking about this. He had to either let Annika go or break off his engagement with Tia.

Next morning
Everyone was having breakfast and shivaay and Annika sat in front of each other. Annika was giving him a stink eye whereas shivaay wasn't reacting much to it. He knew anika was angry but they were going to have a serious conversation soon.
After everyone disperses for whatever they had to do, shivaay holds anika and takes her by the poolside. Annika struggles to get free of his hold but he doesn't let her go.by the time they reach the pool anika was angry. "what is your problem shivaay? You keep pushing me around, you want me to do whatever you want but I am not a toy shivaay. Let me go! she shouts at him and finally he leaves her hand and crosses his arms across his chest.
"I need to talk to you. Shivaay states stiffly. "About what? anika's tone is biting. "About us.
"Us? There is no us shivaay anika says tentatively, not sure where the conversation was going. Shivaay unfolds his arms and takes a step towards her but his face shows no emotion. Anika looks at him unsure of what he is doing. She keeps standing at her place even though her she wanted to take a step back, she stood her ground. To her surprise shivaay stopped a few steps away from her and took her hand in his. Anika looked in his eyes and couldn't look away. Shivaay pulled her to him "don't you feel this? This feeling has always been there between us, even five years ago. He waited for her to speak but anika was lost for words. Even though she knew he was right she couldn't say yes to him, there was something between them but she refused to acknowledge it.
"I like you anika and I know that you feel for me
She was about to say something when her mobile rings and without breaking eyes contact she takes the call. "hello?
"... Whatever the caller said brings anika back to the reality of their situation. She cuts the call after telling that person that she'll call back later.
For so many years she had waited for this moment, when shivaay would confess his feeling to her but now it was too late. He was five years too late and even if she accepted him there will be hell to pay and she won't bring shivaay into that. There was this secret in her life which she never wanted to face. Now that shivaay was talking about their feelings she knew what she had to do, even if her heart ached she had to do it.
Anika snatches her hand from his hold taking him by surprise and she steps back from him creating distance between them. "this is funny, I don't like you shivaay and don't forget you are getting married now. You are technically cheating on tia. Anika says and puts up the emotionless faade.
"mr. shivaay singh oberoi, you are right, I had feelings for you five years ago but we were kids, it was just infatuation. I don't like you anymore; I think you are annoying and too full of yourself. Hearing this shivaay visibly stiffens.
"oh my god, does this mean that you bought me a house because you like me? anika laughed.
"shivaay we are just acquaintances, we are not even friends and never were. How can you even think like this? she speaks further though her heart is breaking but she can't back out now. She had forgotten her reality but the phone call brought her back to earth. " look I only came here to talk to you on new year was because you bought me a house and I can't take that, I am not after money, I still want you to take it back.
"I have to go, I'll see you later she says and quickly makes an exit before shivaay could react. She didn't want shivaay to find out that she was just pretending to be like this but shivaay was smart, he must have thought that something was off about her.
Anyway she could think about this later, right now she had to get out of here.

OmRu were sat with dadi in the hall when they saw Annika run away. "what happened to her? why is she running away like this? asked rudra and om answered "what else? She must have had a fight with shivaay and as soon Omkara mentions the fight, they hear some glass breaking.
All of them turn to look in the direction of shivaay's room and OmRu go to his room to see the mirror broken.
"what happened shivaay? om asks but shivaay doesn't say anything and leaves in anger.

Anika reaches her home and enters only to find her nightmare sitting comfortably on the couch. "you made me wait for you anika the man said. His face was hidden in the shadow.
"I'm sorry I was working she tries to explain. "where? he asks as he stands up and starts to walk towards her and comes into light. Only then anika sees the scowl on his face.
"ob.. oberoi mansion she stammers while stepping back.
"you are not going back there he orders her but anika panics "no please try and understand, this is the last time, I won't go back there again the man narrows his eyes at her and agrees to let her go.
"now that I am back go and make me something to eat anika, I am famished he says and Annika leaves hurriedly.

Shivaay gets into his car and call khanna "khanna! Track her phone and tell me where anika is. Shivaay starts his car and leaves for anika's house. He knew that something was not right and he hoped that it was the case because if it wasn't then it would mean that anika didn't have feelings for him and he didn't like the idea of that being the truth.
He had noticed the way her expressions had changed after getting the call and he knew something was wrong because whatever she said, they were only words and didn't match with her actions. She never once seemed like she didn't like him. The thing that hurt him most than her words was that she didn't trust him enough to tell him what bothered her but he was Shivaay Singh Oberoi, he'll find out everything even if she doesn't tell him.
Khanna informed shivaay that Annika was at her place. Shivaay went to her home and stopped before she could notice his car. He saw anika with a man, she was hugging him and this feeling of betrayal and uncertainty went through him, he dreaded that maybe Annika wasn't lying after all. Maybe she liked someone else.
After that he couldn't take it anymore, he tightened his hold on the steering wheel till his knuckles turned white and reversed out of that place before anika could notice. He couldn't see the man's face or annika's expressions but he was sure about what his next step was going to be now.

She absolutely hated his touch but she had to endure it, for the sake of her life. Aanika and sahil's bua had taken loan from the man Daksh and wasn't able to return it so she told him that Annika would pay him and if she doesn't then he can do anything he wants with her. from then he was after her, anika tried to involve police but he even got out from the jail and soon anika realised that he was a psycho and she won't be able to get rid of him easily and he was a murderer too. She was scared for her life and for the people who associated with her.
she had to leave, that was the only way to get rid of him and she was going to leave after she completed her work at oberoi mansion.
After making plans to leave along with sahil, anika freshened up to leave for Oberoi mansion. Today she had broken his heart but he was so out of her league anyway, why would he ever want to be with her, maybe now he'll realise that should marry Tia only.

Annika entered to see servants running here and there decorating the house and pinky ordering them to work properly. Seeing Annika pinky calls her "Annika, where were you, everyone was looking for you
"what is happening pinky aunty? Annika asks confused.
"shivaay decided that the engagement will be day after tomorrow so we need to work faster now. Pinky's words dropped like bombs on her heart and shattered her. She had lied to him after all. Her feelings weren't infatuation, she loved him and she always knew it. After everything that she said today, he must hate her now.
Determined to not let her heart break anymore, she decided she was going to leave tomorrow and never come back here. She wished that shivaay would get all the happiness in the world.

Chapter 7: The Mystery Man

The previous day, shivaay had announced that tia and he were going to get engaged. Today Annika woke up earlier than usual because she couldn't sleep. All night twisted and turned willing for sleep to come but it had evaded her eyes. She kept thinking about shivaay, kept seeing his face, kept remembering the night five years ago when everything changed and then they met again. She thought about what she had said to him, it hurt her so much but it was for the better, they were worlds apart.
She wasn't shocked at shivaay's decision and thought it was for the better, she now more than ever, wanted to leave this place behind her, leave him behind her. every moment that they spent together will forever stay in her hear and she would cherish it, even laugh at their silly arguments.
She got ready and took a deep breath before she left to work knowing she'd face shivaay. All day she could feel his angry gaze on her, he didn't try and talk to her but kept looking at her, his expression fuming. If looks could kill she'd be six feet under the ground. What had she done that he was so furious? She was curious to know but refrained herself from approaching him. She was sure he was angry because she refused to acknowledge his feelings and her theory was proved when she slipped. she was falling, shivaay saw and moved fast but she still felt the pain and groaned as her butt kissed the floor. In disbelief, she looked at him and saw shivaay held a vase which was about to fall. He kept the vase properly on the table, looked at her fleetingly and walked past her. she immediately knew what this was, he was getting back at her, how childish. Didn't he understand that t was best he married tia?
"Annika? Are you alright? Annika turned and saw omkara leaning by her side as he helped her up. "what is wrong with him? om asked out loud to no one in particular. Annika didn't say anything to om and left to continue her work. There was no use telling anyone, this was between them and will remain the same way.
Through the day Annika felt as if she had to keep watching her back, as if someone would strike at her with the intension to hurt her. she got calls, every hour almost, all from daksh, he was keeping an eye on her. She didn't know his problem with oberois but he hated them. The worst thing about the calls was that shivaay's behaviour became a lot more hostile as soon as priyanka teased her about having a boyfriend.
After that, all day shivaay was indirectly taunting her about having a boyfriend because she was getting so many calls from daksh, she was afraid that he saw who was calling but then she thought it was ridiculous, shivaay can no way know about daksh. Daksh kept calling which made the taunts all the more sensible for others, only she knew the truth.

Shivaay was frustrated that he couldn't get a reaction out of her. Annika was not fighting with him at all, like something changed the moment she got that call yesterday and then he saw her with another man. All the things that she said to him, he couldn't believe that she meant them at all but they hurt him anyway. He was furious to find her with someone else and he didn't want to accept that he was jealous. He didn't have to be jealous of any man on this planet. Accepting that feeling was difficult, so to distract himself, shivaay was trying to get a reaction from Annika, wasn't she feeling jealous that shivaay and tia were getting married? Was it only him who felt it?
On the other side, if he was observant enough he noticed that every time Annika's phone rang she panicked and looked stressed. Shivaay needed to find out who that man was and for that he needed annika's phone. He needed to know what that man meant to Annika or if he was blackmailing her or something.
He took a deep breath and left to look for Annika.

It was night and Annika was almost done with her work. She had decided that she won't attend the wedding, after all how could she see him getting married to someone else. She just had to inform dadi that she could stay no longer hoping dadi will understand.
Annika goes to dadi's room to find her reading a book. "dadi? she says and walks to sit by her. dadi gets pleasantly surprised to see Annika, "Annika puttar? You didn't sleep yet? dadi asks as she puts her book down and removes her specs.
"i.. I am leaving dadi, my work here is done. I don't think staying here anymore is going to do any good to me. Annika says as she bows her head. Dadi instantly knew what the problem was, only wished her kids would understand it too.
"billu has always been good at hiding his feelings and if you are also not going to say anything then ..
Annika gets surprised to hear dadi and she cuts in between "dadi?.. it's nothing like you are thinking. Shivaay is getting married and I am happy for him... tia is a nice girl. She'll ... keep him happy.
Dadi smiled sadly at Annika "if you want to believe that but I have something for you dadi opens a drawer and takes out an envelope. "this is for you Annika and I want you to take it without any questions asked. It's my investment for your business.
Annika opens the envelope to find money and is quick to deny it but dadi tries to convince her. "dadi I really can't take this, your blessings are enough for me. Annika says as she returns the envelope.
Dadi smiles and hands the envelope back to Annika "my blessings are always with you Annika, but I want you to take this dadi keeps her hand on annika's head "there's not much I could do for you five years ago when you lost so much, please don't say no to this. Dadi manages to convince Annika and Annika hugs dadi. Saying her goodbye Annika leaves oberoi mansion.
Unknown to her shivaay had witnessed the exchange between her and dadi. Shivaay gets convinced that something is wrong. Now he had to find a way to get her here tomorrow.

Next day
Early morning Annika books tickets for her and her brother sahil to get away from here and makes a call for the passports. After that she just starts packing before she gets caught by daksh. She didn't have much time.
After an hour, Annika was done with the packing, there wasn't much she had anyway; only a few memoirs of her childhood.
She sits down to take rest; the silence is interrupted by her phone ringing. Hearing the ring, Annika immediately straightens up, fearing the worst. As she picks up her mobile to answer the call, she relaxes to see priyanka's name.
Annika picks up "Annika where are you? Do you know everything is a mess here without you, please come quick. Priyanka said not giving Annika any time to speak. The call gets disconnected before Annika gets a chance to tell her that she wasn't coming. Annika starts pacing the room wondering if she should go or not. Priyanka sounded panicked and worried; maybe she should go and check once.
Deciding this, Annika leaves for Oberoi mansion. Upon reaching there she is instantly surrounded by pinky and jhanvi. "why are you so late ? we have so much to do, come
Annika realised that they were indeed very much tensed, after it was shivaay singh oberoi's wedding, everything had to be perfect. After that she busied herself in the preperations.

Shivaay was feeling very weird and couldn't explain it to his brothers. It was like he couldn't breathe. He sat alone in his room when the door to his room opened, he looked up and his heart skipped a beat, he was totally surprised and relieved to see Annika, suddenly it was like he could breathe again. He didn't move and observed Annika from head to toe, he smiled slightly seeing the effect he had on her.
"I brought your clothes for today's function Annika says as she keeps them on his bed properly. Annika's phone rings again and she cuts the call. Shivaay sees this and realises this is the time to get the number. Annika busy in her phone doesn't see him stand.
As soon as Annika looks up at him she gasps and takes a step back, shivaay smirks and steps closer. Taking advantage of her situation shivaay takes her phone and throws it on his bed. He walks closer to her and she continues to step back. When he has almost cornered her, he raises his hand to touch her but someone calls for Annika. Snapping out of her trance Annika pushes him away and runs out of his room.
Shivaay laughs and goes back to pick up her phone. He quickly opens her recent calls and takes the number.
Now that shivaay had his number, he was desperate to find out about this man as fast as he could. Shivaay called khanna and told him to get the information about the man whose number it was.

After waiting two hours, shivaay finally gets the file with all the information about the man.
Shivaay asks khanna to leave and then opens the file, never expecting that whatever he sees will change his life. Never in his life had he thought that this day would come when they would come face to face like this. Suddenly he was furious, like he couldn't contain his rage and he throws the file on the floor with as much force as he can.
At that moment Annika enters his room and is shocked to see him like that. He looks up at the intruder and finds a terrified Annika standing at the door.
Cautiously Annika enters when she sees he is not making any move, he even turns away from her. Annika picks up her phone from his bed and tries to say something to shivaay but at that moment tia barges in. "shivaay I need to talk to you , its urgent. Annika realises she is intruding and leaves. Seeing her leave shivaay steps forward to stop her but tia comes in his way.

Daksh gets a call. "sir, the girl Annika called, she asked for the passports and flight tickets after hearing this daksh cuts the call "so, you're trying to escape Annika. I'll let you try and laughs evily.
