Why we should all be personally offended on Anika's behalf

There has been much discussion on the forum re NKK-gate, but I have to add this. I might not personally agree with it but I'll accept that Shivay's belief system does not allow him to marry anyone who isn't of an equal social standing to him- but the whole I can't imagine her being the mother of my kids line was too far and unacceptable. It's only a tv show and Anika is only a fictional character, but we all know that in certain societies particularly in the subcontinent this kind of mentality exists so as a women I felt personally insulted hearing it out loud. That somehow because Anika isn't an upper class girl she isn't worthy of being the mother of his kids? What has your social class got to do with being a mother? It implies that because you're poor you're somehow unfit to raise children. It may have been inconsistent to what's going on in IB but I actually liked today's scene in DBO. It gave us an insight into Shivay's thinking and is probably the closest thing we will get to a confession anytime soon, but the mother of my children line was beyond insulting and almost unforgivable. There was absolutely no need for him to say that. Particularly given that time and time again high class people such as Tia/Mrs Kapoor/Daksh/ even Tej have shown Shivay their wicked ways while Anika has only ever shown love and kindness to all, so what will it take for him to realise that NKK isn't important in the slightest? Especially not to raise children. How many more wake up calls does he need?

By being cannot be mother of his kids he is meaning khoon khandaan, not upbringing or ability to raise good kids. I never understood his NKK logic(lot of bad khandaani ppl around him - infact most of them are bad😆) and i have accepted that he has this belief and he wants to stick. Self laid rule as i call it and its most difficult to break. Isse zyaada kuch samajh na nahi hai and na hi isse personally lena hai.

i don't think u should take it as an insult against woman, his problem is with NKK
do u remember that boy that was getting engaged to priyanka?? didn't he actually ended the entire engagement because he thought that NKK of the boy isn't worthy of their family
the problem isn't with gender...the problem is with his thinking about NKK when evaluating people
so i haven't felt insulted or hurt as a woman...what so ever i felt hurt for annika because she's really sweet
as far as the other women who are bad with good khandan ---> this is the point of the whole story...is to make him understand that NKK doesn't have much importance

finally : think about it like this...if u assume that it was priyanka that was saying this about some one that she can't see him as the father of her children because of the lack of NKK do u think men should be offended?
i don't...the matter of rich and poor...from a huge family or not...has a gr8 job or not is something that exists even in the most civilized countries...even in cartoons u see rules like a princess can't marry except a prince of another kingdom ect...ect...
it exists every where...for men and women
so not offended

I will say family background breeding and class hold a lot of meaning in Indian society and everywhere in the world, but specially Indian society. Class is not this fluid concept. Not to sound pompous - Im nowhere as rich as Oberois claim to be but Im sure my family would have a problem if I marry an orphan boy from lower income strata. Its not correct but its the mentality of several families even middle class families not just rich. So this is a very realistic problem and to feel in love and imagine the problems away is an easy answer but unrealistic. Its heartbreaking but i understand Shivay - he has feelings now deciding what these feelings are worth and what he needs to fight against ( both with the world and within himself ) is his real journey. But this guy who acknowledges feelings has come a long way from the guy who called her sadak ka kooda.

No one(as far as i see) has taken Shivaays NKK statement and his mother of his children statement as an insult against women.😊 Being associated with this serial for 200 episodes + we feel an attachment towards the serial and the characters. This NKK thing does exist like you said in many societies infact all if i am not wrong and we(people who feel like me) are attached to the character Anika because we are able to connect to her here and there if not on all levels. We are just feeling bad for her since she is the one who will be facing the actual situation on the show.😊

Why is he so obssessed with Khandani people?
All khandani people around him are good for nothing, cunning, greedy and all.
But he still belives this stupid Naam, Khoon and Khandaan!
Take an example, Tej(Characterless) Tia and Kapoors(Greedy, Liar, Inke bare me to jo bhi bolo kam hai)
Daksh(Creepy psycho)
And many more!
I forgot Pinky!
Iske pas NKK sabkuch hai bas dimag hi nahi hai [=))]
