Just because he has begun to understand that NKK is not everything so late, though he has not accepted it but he has started to realize, family was,is and always be the first priority for him, the things that he didn't realize earlier particularly the events that took place after his marriage to anika, when Mrs.Kapur began to blackmail him, since then he has realized that a big famous name is not everything and doesn't guarantee respect or character, he suspected anika and daksh had spent one night but when the truth came out he was shocked and guilty for suspecting anika , it was Omkara's weak point which was holding him back his secret of being illegitimate that made shivaay to do and say all those things which he never wanted to, he has so many fronts to fight, omkara's truth, protecting anika, keeping his mom happy and now to find out what is tia and his mom upto, shivaay being the father of tia's child which is not true, when he announced tia as his wife in front of everyone he cared only about the respect of his family he used anika only as an option to save family's name and did not accept her as his wife but then turn of events made him realize that anika is more than just his responsibility she's more than that, so many times he has gone against his family his and particularly pinky.
I think many people are forgetting that he stood up for anika when he began to trust her he was unable to hear any word against her, he wanted anika to stay away from tia-dushyant truth because he was and is protecting omkara's secret, amidst all this he has fallen deeply for anika and since the ML track he has grown more protective for her than ever realizing her vulnerable state she can be easily harmed.He's fighting at so many ends so we cannot blame that now he has become wise and he was not before, even the stronger ones had to face tough times and they become weak.
Shivaay has still many flaws no one is perfect but that does not mean that he's not smart or he cannot see the truth, shivaay singh oberoi never would have in his wildest dreams imagined that he will be blackmailed, he who get things done by hook or by crook how can someone blackmail him so it made him weak because he had to hurt those he love i.e anika, she was unfortunately in the center of all this.
Remember how he yelled at anika that if he had to choose who to trust between her and tia he will choose tia at that time shivaay was blinded by the lies told to him by daksh.
So much has been changed and shivaay too, all this time protecting omkara's truth has been his biggest challenge of life.
For me Shivaay is now acting smarter then ever, no matter what people say!!!
