And, sinking in doesn't need to be a vocal process. I agree that it would be super out-of-character for Shivaay to suddenly display such introspection, when he haven't seen him do that in the last 200 episodes. However, I'm talking more about subtlety, like that time where he cried when she got engaged to Daksh. He didn't confess jackshit then, but we all knew what was happening anyway.

I think he must have already realised like you said during daksh track and also after that many nearly lost her situation. If they show only now he realised it will not go with the character.
