Dil Bole Oberoi | Will Someone Please Explain?

I know that there have been a few posts like this, but I can't help myself. Heard Surbhi's IV, multiple spoilers, and different bits and pieces about what Dil Bole Oberoi is going to be.

I'm honestly so confused.

When I heard about a spinoff, I just assumed that it would an hour-long Ishqbaaaz, in the guise of a new show. So I didn't really mind, because the addition of a new show means that OmRu will get their deserved screenspace, and the ShivIka story can be even more extended.

And then the promo came out, and bar all the tackiness with the love dialogues (come on man, who talks like that in real life?!), it looked promising. ShivIka and RumYa look super cute, and Something-Kara look really great too. Let's not get into the fact that the bhagodi dulhan is literally the most cliche, and idiotic way they could have brought a new female lead in. BTW, how many people have you heard of, that have literally run away from their own wedding?

I thought that DBO was just going to be an extension, but the promo kind of tells otherwise. ShivIka look happily married, and judging by the way Shivaay looks at Annika, I assume that they're in love too. Shivaay has magically now forfeited all his predispositions, and all class, now spouting intense dialogues about love instead. RumYa are the most like their original characters - but I don't understand the whole every girl ends up saying I love you, Rudy. Does that mean he's back to being a casanova, or that Rudra has accepted that he likes Saumya, and is now trying to her to admit the same? And then, we have Omkara, who has ranted about love and its greatness for 200 episodes of Ishqbaaaz, now talking about how love is a deal. Meanwhile, the runaway bride runs into his arms, and they hold the world's most clichd catch-and-fall.

What on earth is happening?

I honestly think that DBO is set in the future; a few months, or even a year or two, after Ishqbaaaz.

Without the weird dialogues, that restaurant scene actually looks kind of nice, and I hope that that is one of the initial scenes of DBO. It's strangely intimate, and I'm looking forward to seeing what ShivIka and RumYa act like in the future.

In her interview, Surbhi said that the focus will be on OmRu and their love stories, but that Shivaay and Annika will be there in the first week or so. I have a solid theory, and am lowkey willing to bet my life, that they are either going to go on their honeymoon, or a trip, after the first week. Or what I'm actually kind of worried about; that they might move' to a different city/country for a few months. That pretty much clears DBO of having to put in ShivIka scenes, and will instead focus on Omkara and Rudra. Otherwise, I hope they have a good reason as to why Shivaay and Annika are MIA from their lives, because if not, things are going to be based on speculation, and loose threads.

So we've got that established; Ishqbaaaz for Shivaay and Annika, and Dil Bole Oberoi for Something-Kara, and RumYa. The only question now is, where do the O-Bros go? Are their scenes split up, between two shows? If so, I foresee heaps of fandom issues; where do we go to read multi-fandom fanfiction, and where do we post pictures of group events? You get my drift. I just read about different forums too, and that's completely insane.

As for the Oberoi brothers, things don't make a lot of sense. If Shivaay is in DBO, then Annika will have to too, by default. Unless, they manage to get Annika to move' somewhere, or something like that. Still, logically that doesn't make too much sense.

So that means that we'll see OmRu in Ishqbaaaz, and I'm hoping against hope that we do. Their equations with Shivaay (obviously) and even Annika, are so heartwarming to see. But I vaguely remember Nakuul and Surbhi talking about their crazy long hours, so if DBO is OmRu's lovestory, then won't they have long hours as well? How are they going to shoot for two shows?

And, what I'm super afraid of, and what I think most people are too, is that we won't get many O-Bro scenes. Between the three love stories, and the two shows, I feel like the most important relationship on the show will be abandoned. Please, don't do this to us, CVs.

And what about all the other actors? The parents, the villains, the siblings? What about PriVeer?! Do they split up between two shows, as well? Help me out here everyone, I'm running out of theories.

The only other idea I have about this is that maybe, OmRu don't live in Oberoi Mansion anymore, or maybe, have even moved to a different city, or country. Think about it; Om ends up leaving because he hates his dad, or even to get away from his past (I'm sketching here, don't judge!). As for Rudra, he has to end up going to university; we all know that Tej went to Harvard, and Shivaay went to Oxford, and I think Om went to some Art University in Paris. Thus, I assume that that would be a legit way to get him out of the house, along with Saumya.

Picture this, Shivaay and Annika come to visit them, and cue the restaurant scene. They talk about the family in India, and OmRu talk about their lives away from all of them. Later, the brothers (I'm assuming it will be more Shivaay and Omkara) will have a fight or something, about Om leaving the Mansion, and Shivaay begging him to come back. Om doesn't relent, and eventually ShivIka return back to India. If we follow this theory, the rest of the family doesn't have to be in DBO, and so, apart from random cameos from Nakuul and Surbhi, DBO will be OmRu's story.

Saying all of that, I'm still majorly confused. Is DBO a temporary thing? Or will it run side by side with Ishqbaaaz, until Star Plus pulls them off air? I'm hoping that it's run for a maximum of a few months, until OmRu's stories catch up to ShivIka's, and then that they all merge back into Ishqbaaaz. Otherwise, I feel like neither show is going to last too long - not if the original premise of the show is forfeited in the face of three clich love stories.

Ladies, when the CVs talked about the vanvaas track, we though that one of the Oberoi brothers would leave. Now we know that we've had it wrong all along; its Kunal and Leenesh going on the vanvaas, instead.
