Maybe I am reading too much into it but I do not think Shivvay actually ever knew how much he affected Annika prior to this 'chupke chupke' moment. I watched the scene about 7-10 times just to make sure I was not understanding it wrong.
I believe this is the VERY FIRST time Mr. Oberoi has figured out that Mrs. Oberoi is attracted to him. He has been told time and again by his brothers how much HE is affected by HER but has never, either been told or has ever experienced, that Annika is affected by HIM.
She has openly refuted that, she is not obsessed or even likes him, umpteen number of times and rightly so because she herself had not realized it until her engagement day. He has been obsessed with the fact that she is NOT obsessed with him and WHY is she not obsessed with him, etc etc . Here now is an opportunity presented by accidental Rumya romance to explore and confirm the theory. So Shivvay goes 'full steam ahead' 😆
We now have this Shivvay who has just hit upon the fact - albeit accidentally - that his proximity muddles and befuddles his very own amazonian 'warrior princess'.
So bear with me while I rant on because it was priceless to see Shivvay's expressions more than Annika's. His disbelief that he does actually affect her turning into sheer unabashed display of amorous emotions was too much for me to resist dissecting.
Annika, for her part, is a complete goner where the man is concerned. Who ladki tho uske bare mein sooch ne se hi flustered ho jati hai aur hyperventilate karna shuru kar deti hai bechari, 😳
Agar who kabhi hug se ziyada intimate ho gaya tho BP high hone ke wajhe se faint ho jayegi for sure. Phir tho mouth to mouth resuscitation dena padega Billu ko 🤣🤣 Wahan bhi problem - Annika hosh mein akar phir se faint ho jayegi Billuji ko intna intimate dekhkar 😆
I guess being Alpha Male it is impossible to resist the fact that he has such a strong effect on someone like Annika who is not the usual 'giddy headed' girl. This is a strong, no nonsense level headed tomboy who is getting weak in the knees just because he has his arms around her.
Anyways ... under the stairs when he pulls her back the second time and puts his finger on his lips is when he starts noticing how affected she is by his proximity.
Until then he has held her in a very easy almost friendly embrace with not the slightest intention of getting flirtatious.
Then he turns to look at her his finger still on his lips and the change in Shivvvay starts from there. His eyes register and narrow slightly at her flushed face, uneven breathing and her wide eyes staring at his face and his eyes change from friendly to teasing because he has only just registered what she is feeling.
First the hold is kinda loose and then because she is essentially trying to pull away to put some distance between them he adjusts himself to make the hold tighter and more snug.
She gives a half-hearted struggle and he tightens the hold even further, not breaking eye contact because now he is immensely enjoying the effect he has on her. He is sure by now that she is not really putting any effort into the struggle and hence he is not forcing unwanted attentions upon her so he gets bolder because, by now, he is enjoying this new feeling too.
Then the patent 90 degree angle of the nose with the 'I am not letting you go anywhere right now' kinda look, 'till I am absolutely sure this reaction is legit and not my imagination'.
The slight nod with the "ok!!!... I have learned something new today ... I affect Pannika and really bad. That is the best news I have received all day" look of SSO
(then I am puzzled here - did she imagine him hugging her tight or did he really do it? Because he raises his hands and says "roka kisne hai' with the 'the rest was all you yourself - your imagination did the rest my love' kinda look.)
"Main kya kar raha houn' slightly puzzled look with him wondering what she is talking about.
The 'roka kisne hai' total flirtatious teasing mode on of a very experience SSO and a very naive inexperienced Pannika.
The killer look after that was uff! The man was so high on the fact that he could get her muddled in her head. He was also glad to see that she had not realized that he was not holding her anymore and hence she was still leaning against him. No way is this man going to forget this or not use it to his advantage in the future.
The smirk, with the taddibazz style of raising his hands to show that he was not holding her anymore and his enjoying her apparent discomfort and slight embarrassment at this.
I admire the girl for keeping her cool and trying to walk away with as much dignity as she could muster.
Then the "suno.. " and the flirtatious look and the 'woh... " as if he has something important to say - the poor girl actually nods thinking it is something mundane and then light tapping to " I want to use my new found magic power on Pannika once again because I am so enjoying making her blush and flushed'.. and 'kuch nahi' ... yeah! I DID IT AGAIN !!!
Then watching her smile, blush and glow he realized to his immense pleasure and happiness that he was the reason for that glow and radiance on her face.
The twisting of the arm I feel was the best part because it was a very important change in how he would do it before. The arm twist (jujitsu arm lock as I jokingly call it) was so much more tender and playful. The same connection - but a different feel to it.
