When I see these episodes, I marvel at the creatives who are able to keep their jobs. My boss would have hauled me out of the premises long back had I presented him with such outlandish solutions.

Again awesome post.

Thank you!

I think the issue is that the boss is a co-conspirer in all of the idiotic writing that goes on. It's pretty well known that Gul Khan calls most of the shots in her company, and for Four Lions to have any success with their creative endeavours, they would need to get rid of Gul herself 😆

Innika ,

Great post! I do agree that if the plot was anything similar to the way you have put it down, it will make for a great watch, but I have serious doubts regarding the execution of this as watching the 3 sisters chant terribly worded poems around bonfires and sneaking around OM in horrible looking saris, hiding behind fruit baskets and trying to turn Ani into a popsicle doesn't look promising to me!!
Shivaay and Tej who were earlier portrayed as shrewd, ruthless and dangerous men, grey to the point of almost being black in Tej's case have become soft brainless marshmellows who sit sipping soup while the sky is falling!! The writers should show them fighting back and being the men they were once portrayed. Instead we have Ani being superbahu , catfights and cringeworthy dialogues for boosting TRPs!!
I felt that IB had a certain class in the earlier episodes and now I feel like my IQ drops 10 points every time I try to watch !! So disappointing!!

First off, can I just say thank you and sorry? You always write the kindest comments on all my posts and stories, so thank you, and sorry I haven't replied to your comments on ISOSL yet. I have so many to reply to, and I barely had time to write this post, let alone reply to all of them! I've been trying to balance senior year, and family stuff, and I'm quite sick too, but I promise I will get back to all of them very soon!

I agree; what I wrote is pretty much hope over anything. If there's anything we know about Four Lions, then its that they would win awards in being the most cringeworthy production house on earth. Some of the dialogues (Nafratbaaz, Annika's patni vs sautan crap) make me want to bang my head against a wall. I think the issue is that they're trying to make it dramatic, but all they've really done is make it a comedy act, that none of us take seriously.
I feel like they can't ever execute the businessmen right. None of GK's businessmen heroes have ever gone to work, whether it was Asad, Arnav or Shivaay. I like to see women and their intelligence being shown, but that doesn't mean they have to make the men absolute pushovers. At this point, Tej is more concerned about beating Shivaay than any of Oberoi Industries' actual rivals. On the other hand, where is the Shivaay that we saw attempting to destroy Annika? Or was that only because he was attracted to her?!

And Annika the superbahu makes me want to cry sometimes; I really miss what she was before. We get temporary reprieve when she's sassy to Shivaay, but that doesn't make up for the patni-sautan dialogues😕😕

Saas-bahu-patni-sautan dialogues irritate me to no end. And don't even start me on SSO. He's not living upto his tum jaanti nahi main kya kar sakta hun! reputation.

I want to see a great battle between OBros and Kapoor Sisters. SOR vs STR. Not STR planning and plotting and winning and SOR worrying and crying and agreeing to their backmails!

Ps. Great post!

Thank you!

Me too, but like you said, they'll probably go unfulfiiled. I actually stopped watching the first season of QH after shit got too intense, and that's one decision that I haven't regretted. I heard something about a washing machine though, and I almost gagged.

The mangalsutra, sindoor, patni-sautan dialogues almost always get forwarded when I watch Ishqbaaaz now. They're insufferable, and fake, and nothing anyone expects from a show that promises not be a typical saas bahu drama.

As for SSO, I completely agree. He's become more of a marshmallow right now, and I swear to god, Annika and Saumya could be better businesswomen than he could. How can someone be so blind, idiotic and gullible?!

Exactly. There'll definitely be a time for the heroines to show their counterparts how intelligent they can all be, but at the moment, Annika and Saumya still shouldn't be fighting Oberoi battles, because as sad as it is, Annika hasn't been completely accepted, and no one even knows that Saumya is now an Oberoi.

I completely agree, we need some hardcore OBro vs. Nafratbaaaz action!

Every track had potential in the show but it was always half baked. The 3 villains r so lame and such bad actors that I don't even want to talk about it.
Villain wise Daksh was the only character who was smart and could actually act.
These 3 are busy playing juvenile games.
Shivaay is shown so dumb that what to say.
Anika says a lot of things but she is not able to do anything except say "mera pati, tum meri saut and blah..blah.."
OmRu do a once in a blue moon appearance.
The whole show has become so convoluted..maybe with every episode Gul should start with a family tree so that v can understand the constantly changing dynamics.
There should be a particular order but here its haphazardly written. It reminds me of a game where everyone tells one sentence about a story and every person keeps on adding a line to it. That's what the writers seem to be doing.

Your analysis is on point ! I too find it difficult to be afraid of these 3 girls with too much kajal. First of all, what was the reason the father died?

It looked like he was burnt, probably inside an exploding/burning car. And people were saying, It's awful that this happened but evil deeds do have consequences... (or something to that extent)

If the Senior Oberois did something to Mr. Kapoor, don't you think they'd know and perhaps not let them come near their family , let alone marry into it?? I think Mr. Kapoor did something WRONG, and got caught, and as villains often do, blame the good guys when their plans backfire.

Your theory of the girls being raised separately in camouflage is very plausible, it may give the CVs ideas. But why unite now? What is the sudden urgency, when there is no apparent weakness exposed in the Oberoi's shield? Do they think that Tia being almost married to Shivaay is a good enough bet to expose themselves?

The Oberois , apart from Tej and Shivaay, seem like really nice people who quietly do their own stuff without disturbing others. Tej and Shakti , however seem to have done some really questionable things back in the day, probably during Dadu's time. I am not even surprised if they had a hand in giving him a heart attack. Remember how Tej mocked Shakti for hiding in his room after their father died, while he had to pick up the pieces and hold the fort?

I am not the least afraid of the overly dramatic KapSis 🤔, not after Daksh (that guy was really creepy), and maybe the slithering and manipulative Roop. I feel these 3 will just cause more inconveniences rather than actual damage.

Now, Mrs. Kapoor and her legitimacy drama, this however can cause irreparable damage. Good and bad. Good it the sense that SSO will dismantle his NKK snobbery for his brother, he won't bear to alienate his beloved brother no matter what.

I think the impact would be greater if Rudra was the one in question, rather than Om. I never saw Tej even consider Rudra as an heir to the empire. Makes more sense.

Bad, in the sense that, SSO will worry this secret will tip Om over to his drug problem again, and even make Om leave the family. I must say this arc leaves Om in a very interesting plot.

Things are up in the air again. I just wish Annika didn't fight Shivaay's battles.

Thank you!
OMG, I second the too much kajal point 😆

Your argument about Mr. Kapoor completely makes sense; in fact, as we saw in the flashback, it's quite obvious that Mrs. Kapoor's brainwashing played quite a significant role in how the three women feel about the Oberoi family. I think that you're right about how Mr. Kapoor may have done something shady to meet his fate, and like you said, the comments that onlookers made is evidence of that.

Exactly - there was absolutely no build-up or lead in to the entry of the vampish trio. The sisterhood idea seems extremely contrived, and all the possible theories that I've considered to remotely justify this, have many plotholes. I don't understand the sudden urgency, and the uncontrollable bloodthirst that they have, when Svetlana herself blatantly said that this has been an endeavour that had stretched over many a year.

You know, I would actually like to find out about Tej and Shakti's past. It was hinted to be extremely shady in the first few episodes, but we didn't end up getting into any specifics. I too, think that them causing the heart attack is very plausible.
I feel like Mrs. Kapoor is still pulling all the strings of the game. The legitimacy track is very intelligent, because it shows that in the face of his family, Annika is still not priority for Shivaay. As you said, it'll definitely challenge Shivaay's NKK beliefs which will be extremely interesting to see onscreen. Omkara, and how he deals with said revelation also has potential to make for a great storyline. I honestly felt like Om's drug addiction stemmed from a lot of abandonment issues in regards to his father, so to see whether he turns to taking drugs again, will definitely heighten the drama of Omkara's currently non-existent storyline.

Annika needs to go on a holiday, very, very far from Shivaay, and his family😆
