You have hit the nail on its head... WHY did SSO not check the status of Tia's family and their business and not find out that they are in financial trouble and that Tia as a rich and well known woman must have gotten married with as much hoopla the first time , as Tia is doing with Shivaay again.

I agree with you that SSO is dumb and will regret his stupidity of not checking his future wife's and her pristine background...
