Im usually a silent member but have been following IB since the begginning and witnessied the recent upheavel in the Forum as well. and after seeing todays episode i felt like making a post.
"Even i did not think that you could do such a thing..."
In this one sentence lies the crux of what SSO is feeling at the moment.
When everyone s heart is crying for Anika, my heart aches for Shivaay too.
No im not saying that what he did to Anika or the way he has forced her into marriage is justified... all im saying is that i can understand what led him to behave this way.
When it comes to his family, business and their reputation, Shivaay Singh Oberoi was calculative, arrogant, does not hesitate to use his power to achieve what he wants or to protect his family... in other words he was a ruthless man... and in Shiyaay s life there was always only a thin fragile line between right and wrong or white and grey.. after all his mentor was Tej Singh Oberoi another ruthless man who has even more shades of grey in his character.
And into this SSO s life walked in Anika..who made him feel emotions that were alien to him before.. she made him care for her..a person other than his immediate family memebers.. and she made his heart ache for her to the extent that he was finally almost ready to give up on his long held beliefs of 'khoon. khandan and izzat..'
Yes , i truly believe that from the moment Anika had accepted Daksh s proposal , Shivaay was on the verge of breaking all his beliefs and accepting Anika.. perhaps Daksh knew this and perhaps thats the reason why even after he got what he wanted ( Anika's YES to his marriage proposal) still he played that dirty trick to keep Shiyaay away from Anika..
And alas...Shiyaay fell for it and believed it...and from that moment on he had hit rock bottom.. . but he did not show it to the world.. true to his arrogant self, once again he hardened his heart to all emotions.. even to that of pain and greif he felt and he preponed his marriage as an act of defiance... it was as if he wanted to show Anika he did not care...but he still did care.. even when he was going through his final rituals before marriage, his heart ached for her
But believing that Anika had betrayed his beliefs of her pureness and her worth , he had gone ahead with his marriage with even more determination than before.. and the only thing he cared for at that moment was his family s status and the benifits they would gain when he marries Tia...he was once again the calculative, ruthless , Oberoi elder son.
But would his status of mind be the same if Daksh had not played this game??.. no i dont think so.. he would have suffered like hell.. he would have pined for Anika to the extent he might have even called off his marriage.
But Daksh played his game and his trust on Anika had broken.. and then on the wedding day Tia, the khoon and Khandaani girl whom he thought would understand him and would be a good daughter in law to his family, even she had broken his trust and ran away... and now, the fragile thin line in Shivaay s life between right and wrong has broken and he has fallen into a dark abyss... an abyss from where its still Anika who can bring him out.. that was evident today when he accused Anika saying even he did not know that she could do such a thing.. . its evident that all his emotions and all his actions right now are governed only by what he believed was Anika s betrayal and nothing else...he did not behave with Anika the way he did, simply because she interfered with his plans and made his hired bride-to be run away...thats one factor, but he behaved that way because Anika is the one who hurt him most.. who broke his trust, who he believed betrayed him and pushed him to the extent that he was forced to prepone his marriage and forget about her.. .but even that plan of his did not go as he wished and the final blow was once again because of Anika, when that girl ran away.
So i can understand where Shiyaay is going and what he is feeling and my heart aches for him as much as for Anika, but at the same time i do not condone how he has treated Anika.
