I agree with the TM, and mostly, with her use of the word "Falling." I think Shivaay has fallen-- but tonight and tomorrow, I hope he falls in his OWN eyes. I don't know if Anika has the energy, the strength to be mad at him for failing her, any more. As Annisa (annz.sageflower) said in her fantastic post, Anika is now going through her own turmoil, her own sense of embarrassment. She is going to examine her actions, and back away from them.

But Shivaay has failed her, and failed himself, too.

The stalker plot, whoever it is, has changed something very basic for Anika. She has decided to reach out and to ask for help. To trust. I don't think love or lust or any of those normal emotions are the main thing for Shivaay or Anika. Trust is. They don't trust their OWN wellbeing to anyone. They look after themselves. They will barely accept outside help for their families-- never mind themselves. Not even OmRu are allowed to help Shivaay until they force him. Sahil is Anika's biggest support--but how can he help her? So for her to just make the call, despite the words she overheard, for me--that was a big deal. Kind of her last effort at making a connection, at keeping her trust going in him.

So far she has never compromised on her self respect. And she broke that rule for herself last night. And while she was truly terrified as she did it, Daksh was absolutely right. She had Om's number, Dadi's, Rudra's. Dakhs's too, I guess. But when she turned to someone , it was to a man she now believes she can no longer trust. And what she has lost is a significant thing. In her mind, he is the only person she has. And that went away last night. No marriage track will work, without her seeing him as her partner. And she wont.

When Daksh asks, she says (and god, my heart broke) -- I called him because I don't KNOW anyone else to call--that was crushing. But also, as I thought back over the past 5 months--for her, that's absolutely true. Shivaay has the luxury of a house full of family, and apparently, many close friends. He even thinks he has Tia. Anika probably didn't even realize how lonely she is, until the stalker made her see it. Now, if someone says-I am here, pagli. You call ME, from now--she has no one left. She will accept that offer.

I hope Shivaay finds out that she reached out for him. I hope he figures out that she thinks he believes the attacks are made up. Knowing that, she still reached for him, compromised on her self respect when she did it. Trusted his guards, for god's sake (the KYA! CHAI! thing made me snort-laugh into my tears, actually).

And he wasn't there. When she finally took him at his word, even against her better judgment. I hope he knows that, and I hope it burns. Because we know he values his role as protector more than anything else, and she was asking him for protection, here. Not romance. For months, he has been trying to BE her protector, and getting pushed away. Now, Tia stole that from him, and I hope he hates her for THIS, at some point in the future. More than the cheating (which would hurt his ego, not his self-respect). AND the CVs make sure he does find out.

I wonder if she will tell him tonight, that she called him, or if she will just walk away. Because going from a man who literally showed up without her telling him she was in danger, tonight he is a man who didn't answer her calls. Didn't bother to check on her until he saw her bruised. I think she won't say a word. I think she will drive him nuts, by saying nothing, and that will compel him to find out what the hell happened.

But I have faith in Dakhs's odd brand of cruelty and direct talk, that is so effective for Shivika right now. I hope Shivaay hears all the details, the knife, the blood, the terror. I hope Daksh rubs it in about Anika calling Shivaay. I hope Shivaay remembers who handed him his cellphone, with the missing call logs.

And I HOPE Tia burns in hell.
