Hello People,
In the light of the ShivIka wedding on its way, we have read so many posts with brilliantly predicted future scenarios, I would like to make this post just to discuss how the makers can actually destroy their well written characters if they go in the conventional way of story telling on Indian television.
I would like to praise everyone first for their exceptional predictions. Most of us are viewers of shows like Game of thrones and as brutal as the show is we have to give it that it has some of the amazing twists that we never saw coming. The red wedding or HODOR's secret for example ( extremely sorry if I gave you spoilers)
And I would say that some of us may even have predicted these so it would take the makers a lot of efforts to really make us drop our jaws with this ShivIka marriage twist.
so coming to the titular topic.
1. Kick SP's 'Nayi Soch' & IB's 'Female empowerment' agenda hard in its ass.
So a bride swap is not happening. It made me sigh so hard with relief, I thought I sneezed.But still a groom swap is still in the picture. Brilliant idea by the way! Couldn't have thought of it on my own.
How does it demean all the women around the world who are force to marry without their will is of course not a mathematical theory hard to understand?
It will destroy Anika's I build my own world persona if she succumbs to the consequences of this marriage & decides to accept it. She would not care what the world thinks. She will walk out of it which will actually match the trailer.
But still demeaning to women.
But that would require our 'how does he still earn so much when he can't even see his fianc is cheating on him?' SSO to actually use his head and doubt both Tia & Daksh or only Daksh. Which would of course go off character, bcoz if even after so much attempts he doesn't even give Anika's words even a slight thought & doubt Tia a little, how will he distrust his child hood friend in a second?
2. Impulsive Anika actually planning something.
one thing if this whole Anika trying to expose Tia facade has shown us & Tia something it is the fact that Anika is highly impulsive, so if she finds something substantial against Tia & carefully uses her 'When god was giving humans brains I & SSO were busy making out, so we got the bad ones' Brain, it would be off character too. I mean to be honest, she should be extremely street smart in the first place.
She is a Mumbaiya girl, doing 3 jobs per day, fighting her Bua and protecting Sahil & still staying safe from women traffickers & filthy men. And even after all that she still cannot expose a shopping obsessed person who has been protected her entire life from all the evils a normal person goes through. That is butchering a character right there.
3. Shivaay acting on his jealousy.
Hands down not happening.This guy who is aware of his feelings a lot earlier than Anika & still haven't given up on his prejudices won't for the love of all the gods in the universe marry Anika by giving up on his prejudices acting on his jealousy. Even if Daksh is kissing Anika hard, in front of him. He is a stone & I willingly agree with Anika on this. He will not show his emotions.
It took him a whole lot of time to ask her whether she said yes or no to Daksh. Think how much he will value his futile jealousy.
So he marrying Anika just bcoz he is green as a garden with jealousy is killing his character like killing Jon Snow. Dumb & heart wrenching both. Because his is a extremely well written.
4.Butchering Anika's pride yet again of course if she stays.
I read it somewhere in a post, but it was a extremely well thought out Idea. That all this is Shivaay's plan to expose Tia with a proof & the ring he gave her has a spy cam.
But bride swap not happening. Bad guys will be exposed after the wedding. So how will Anika willfully marry Shivaay after the humiliation we will see today.
If she is the fierce & self respecting Anika we know, she won't.
If Shivaay asks her to marry him, the entire conflict he is suppose to go through will be skipped. So he will act out of his character too.
So that is all. I am unable to recall other ways. May be they would click later. To be honest I always believed that I am a Tubelight. Late batti jalna is my forte.
But for now I am just fixed on watching how Gul manages to make this wedding work without butchering her beloved characters or contradicting her women empowerment theme for which she put a entire Mallika track. I didn't have any problems with that track but just thought that she should not waste the message it gave just for TRPs.
I know I am putting too much thought in this & at the end of the day it is just a show, but IB is the first show on Indian TV I am watching after 2 years & I have really loved almost everything about it ( even the bloopers). So if there is anything that sabotage it especially the Shivika marriage ( a couple I love) it would really make me sad.
Give your ideas & what u think about this. Even if u think it was a waste of all our time. I know it's long. And like always Tomatoes & onions are welcome. we will hopefully brew a good salsa. Eggs too. Christmas is coming guys. Cake toh banta hai!
