This time my post is going to be on Rudra Singh Oberoi.
Rudy is such a character... hard to ignore and ever the joker, the playboy who breaks a girl's heart.. at a moment's notice, the budding poet.(all laugh at his attempts of shayaari) .. idolizes his bade bhaiya Shivaay and loves his mom to bits. Can't ever keep a secret from her... a clean heart with no malice and instinctively dislikes TIa. The cover he hides under and escapes from reality is his 'DUMBNESS'. He is an intelligent guy and choses not to exercise his brain instead building up his muscles n chasing girls.
The girls he chases all know the score and he makes no secret of the fact that it is a short term relationship.. for them it is the name..Oberoi that they love and want.. even if it is for a fleeting moment. As he once told his bros.. he does not need anyone or anything else as long as the 3 of them are together... almost except for a BIOLOGICAL need. 😆😆 I was ROFL... man..he was so honest here.
He hates confrontations of any kind..starting with his parents and he ran to sleep with his bhaiya.. who coddled and protected him. He loves to make fun of Shivaay.. when he is not around but scared to admit it to him... or do it in front of him.. always takes the easy way out by blaming Om.. or whoever is near..or next to him. He was devastated when Shivaay was hurt and in the hospital due to the poisoning.. and we saw the depth of his feelings then. He covers it up with his shallowness and does not let anyone ever see the vulnerability and depth of his emotions.
I have been watching the early episodes of the show that I had missed and not watched keenly.. it was an eye opener. He needs reassurance from his bros that all will be ok. All is Well... is a mantra that keeps him going.. he is in fear/awe of his dad... but does not lose a moment to rib him or hug him if he finds him in an agreeable mood. He is more forgiving than Om for sure and does not back away from teasing his dad. He is expressive physically of his emotions towards his family. by giving them hugs, ofc when the bros hug... it is always awkward.. when Rudy does it. 🤣 His laughter and smile is infectious and the way he expresses his hurt when at the receiving end of his bros teasing... is cute. 😃 His detective mode is on... when it is Shivika matter and he is able to sniff it a mile away. 😆😆 In cahoots with Om, he leaves no stone unturned to tease Shivaay or bring up Anika's name in his bade bhaiya's presence. 😛
He met Soumya when he was down.. the fear of losing his brother whom he loved above and beyond anyone else.. she was a gentle soul who shared his pain and offered him solace and hope when he was even afraid to pray to the gods for his SHivaay bhaiya. HE held onto the dhaaga like it was a lifeline and it was truly one for him and his bhaiya.
He has met his match in Soumya... takkar with her..who paid him back in his own coin.. by ignoring him when she moved into the O mansion... making him the butt of jokes by posting his pic...in the college.. an equal... who is also equally damaged like him by the loss of her brother and father... The taunts from his dad Tej not withstanding... about his IQ and lack of ambitions or taking over the business does not inhibit him from being close to his bros.
Soumya emotionally shared her pain with Rudy when she met him the first time and then he overheard Somya speaking to her mom and shedding tears. He eavesdropped and found his eyes wet with tears... a soul in so much pain whom he was teasing mercilessly...
He is seeing her in a different light.(what is it with painkillers/alcohol that the truth comes out) .and the moment he felt it...scurried off to Shivaay his security blanket.. for he did not know how to deal with his feelings. He took the first step of befriending her but to further his move on ROmi. He thought he had trapped ROmi only to find that he has been snared.. like the web the spider weaves... and makes it impossible to wriggle out. Rudy is in the same position now with ROmi.. as she is a Devi... can sense his presence or find him with her superpowers... uff... some psycho for sure. She trapped him..due to his name and wealth.. no doubt...
But for someone..who is a Devi... why would she wear such...teeny tiny clothes...😕 to build up her followers..🤣 Never have I seen Rudy so shocked as he was when he saw her being bathed in milk and rose petals by her bhakts...😆 poor guy all his..hopes were dashed to the ground and stomped upon. The last straw for him was when his bros made fun of him.. it was too good and so natural of them to tease him.. payback from Shivaay for all the times Rudy has made fun of Tia. 😆😆 Om with his dry sense of humor was crackling.
Soumya has seen him up close and personal and understands him a lot better. She will be a calming influence and also guide him. I loved seeing these two fight like 2 little kids. Rudy for all his bravado and shallowness has an uncanny ability to state the truth as he sees it. Does not pull any punches. That and the fact that he worships Anika... has endeared him to me too.
Waiting to see how he shrugs off the annoying PEST ROmi and ends up marrying Soumya. It will be fun... to see the both of them.
Leenesh has certainly come a long way and grown as an actor in this show. I have seen his early appearance in SSEL where he was only a lamppost spouting 2 words once in a while. He is a treat to watch and brings the much needed lightness to the show. Loving his character and the way he is portraying it. 👏
I also love the character Tej Singh Oberoi, he is so gray and Shivaay is more like him than his own dad. Both are arrogant, ruthless and focused on work/family. Will try to write on Tej next. He is truly a fascinating character though and not seeing enough of him.. with his sons.
