Part 6: The Collision
The harsh, piercing London winds grazed his face as Shivaay's flight had landed at Heathrow, he had kept a tab of the ongoing press and running news reports, the atmosphere had calmed to a great extent yet the ushers and mummers were still present, it was only a matter of adding fuel to this flame and everything would burn to ashes, he however had no intention of becoming a titular story. His car had been parked up in the pick-up area to which he swiftly made his was towards. 'Take me to the central base of Nandini PLC'- Shivaay had already connected the headquarters due to which the VP had been aware of his arrival, now strategies had to be drawn up, work was to be done.
In the meantime a rugged Rudy had been pacing up and down in the corridors 'How can Bhaiya leave his chotu sa, cute sa, small Ru' he wailed, 'Shut up dumbbell, you're a saand, a hate katte dude as Dadi says, and stop crying for gods sake, Shivaay's departure was due to strict circumstances, try to understand his situation' Om ushered a bawling 20 year old, 'O you are so mean to me, who will save me from you if Bhaiya is gone?' he had simmered down a little and had broken out into his mischievous smile once again. 'You're such a big baby, but you're our baby' sighed O as they both made their ways to the dining table for dinner.
Shivaay had arrived at the main London headquarters, he hadn't been aware of the press being conscious of his arrival, in fact he had maintained a quiet appearance and had notified his assistants to not disclose this to the tabloids, and yet he had been greeted with microphones shoved in his face as he ascended out of his car.
'Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi, has the flurry in the press caused you to make an appearance?', 'Are you here to retract this merger?', 'Is Shivaay Singh Oberoi worried about this venture, what is his purpose for his sudden arrival?', the journalists had released a mountain of questions and worded assaults his way, however he remained in his solemn, composed manner that ignited a fear in the pandemonium which was taking place, the commotion seemed to have died down and instead of taking heed to the current stage that was set, he had business elsewhere. So without a whisper, he steered himself towards the main entrance of the building, the questions that were being flung were left to linger and in this way he had welcomed himself to London's next running new story.
The concierge had presented him the entrance and with that he made his way to the reception, 'I wish to speak with Ms. Sharma' his voice was steady, unperturbed to say the least. 'Mr Shivaay Singh Oberoi, what a pleasure' a lady had witnessed his coming and weaved her way to the reception to meet the man of the hour who had seemed to have everyone talking, 'I apologise, but Ms. Sharma is at the Dubai HQ and due to which she shall not be able to welcome you, however, I as the Vice president will be making the decisions here' with that Mishri extended her hand as a gesture of assurance, yet she was met with an unruly reply 'What nonsense is this, I am here to speak to the CEO and owner of the company with whom the Oberoi Industry has chosen to merge with...' he was cut off with a sudden response' Mr. Oberoi, please make no mistake of our hospitality to you, it is not due to you grand ventures nor your name, you should be quite aware that Nandini PLC is at the top of all ventures and businesses, Number 1 on the Forbes list while you trails behind at Number 5, our collaboration with you is due to a heritage link, an expansion in the Indian Market, we chose you!' with that she turned to the receptionist and spoke aloud 'Give Mr.Shivaay Singh Oberoi his keycard to The Landmark Hotel, if he wishes to return, he should do so with a better attitude, I have much work to attend to'
He paused, pondering over what had happened as his anger subsided and realisation struck, this coalition was a lot more beneficial to their business that theirs. He needs to stop being a reckless fool. Shivaay Singh Oberoi does not make mistakes, he commenced to exit with the keycard in his hand-Smack 'Ouch, Phail gaya raita! Mister drunk toh nahi lag rage ho, so roadside romeo ki tarah yu larkhara rahe ho, aur itna mooh begaroge to ase hi chipak jayega' a sharp reply broke his trance, and there she stood: a pretty girl, average height, her hair veiling her face as she bent to pick up what had fallen still murmuring to herself. And as she rose, she pushed the intruding locks away, her eyes averted from his yet he had witnessed a glimpse of them. She had soft features but her eyes, her eyes reflected a gravity he could not understand, a gravity he could not withstand, as if looking at them would break his very being and yet he found himself more drawn to the pools of deep darkness which drilled into his own, who was she?- Before he could question his fixation on her or her presence, retaliate for using such language or berate her for speaking to Shivaay Singh Oberoi in such a manner, she was pulled away by the receptionist 'Ani ma'am he's Shivaay Singh Oberoi'- 'toh what should I do? Unke naam ka achaar dalu, baghad billa kahike' she retorted well aware that a pair of prying ears had heard her dismissal of the Great Shivaay Singh Oberoi, she hadn't looked in his direction and was not about to now.
Shivaay stormed out of the HQ, and made his way towards the car that had parked itself up on the narrow streets of London, 'How dare she, an imbecile, an absolute low class woman, her clothes were so tacky, like colour had puked all over her' he thought to himself and snobbishly brushed of imaginary dust he may have collected in his collision with that woman, 'mere aankhon mein dust chali gayi hogi, thats why I stared at her for so long, that arghh', what a terrible day he had, he had prevented his tongue from reprimanding her, for he had not wanted to create a scene, he had never let anyone off the hook so easily, God, he never wanted to see her face again or penance done and penance she will do.
'Shivaay, why are you so agitated? She was just an ordinary employee from your detailed description of her, and anyway, normal people are allowed to have an opinion of you even if it differs from what you wish to hear' Om mused over the phone, he had been elated when he had seen his call on his phone, yet when he picked up he was engulfed by an irritated Shivaay, going on at length about a 'foolish' girl he had bumped into, 'And Bhaiya aap kisika stuff sub gira doge to woh inaam toh obviously nahi degi, gaali hi degi na' replied a teasing Ru who had been eavesdropping on the conversation for what seemed like eons. He had been annoyed at his Bhaiya for calling O instead of him, but yaha toh dhal mein kuch kaala lag haha heh' he giggled. 'Why are you so obsessed with this mysterious girl, she doesn't happen to be our-you know hone wali bhabhi, and waise she must be a stunner if she has caught your eye Bhaiya' Rudy knew he may have taken it a little too far, but how could he dismiss the opportunity to pull his brothers leg, especially because he could not hit him through the phone, but if he could, Rudy would have been done for, he grinned and waited for the retaliation. S'hut up Rudra, aa kar bohot maaru ga, aur woh Audi ki payment bhi baaki hai, so tread carefully brat' Shivaay shivered at the mention of her, her and pretty, ha... no absolutely not!
'Shivaay, yeh dumbbell ki baat mein kuch toh dum hai, who was she...?' O lingered on the topic a little longer but this time not out of mere curiosity but as an earnest question, who had gotten a man -who did not even look at an individual who had no trace of a heavy background-so worked up. 'She was a no one' and with that Shivaay ended the call. 'She is a no one' he whispered. He had lost sight of what he had come for, but he had calmed down now engaging himself into multiple phone calls, planning a strategy for what was to come tomorrow.
