Finally watched the episode I might be in the minority, but I don't think that Rudra choose Shivaay over Om. He made his own choice after processing the situation the best he could with the limited information. He chose to go with his family not because of Shivaay, but because he wanted to. We all love the Omru and ShivRu moments, but at the end of the day he is his own person with his own thoughts and feelings. We have an idea about Shivkara's personalities and where they stand, but Rudra is still a complete mystery. This is one of those rare moments where he speaks his mind without relying on jokes (like the raksha bandhan episode when he confronted Shivaay).

It's no secret that he plays the mediator between the two, but clearly he wasn't in the mood to play that role in this situation. I find Rudra the most honest with his thoughts sometimes he can be a little too honest. Since the beginning he has commented on Shivaay's anger issues, his ego, and his inability to speak properly to others. That's what siblings do point out our shortcomings.
Although, the Ishana comment sounded harsh he was right Om does empathizes with others. Is that a bad thing? No of course not. It's one of the reason why most of us love his character so much. His ability to connect with others is endearing.

The problem is he biased against his father (and rightly so) and this distrust causes him to shut off automatically when he is involved. Rudra and Shivaay aren't exactly fond of their fathers either, but they haven't given up on them completely. They found a way to deal with them (Rudra jokes, Shivaay ignores). Despite his indifference to them Shivaay's trust amplifies when his family is involved. I think if in the future a conflict does arise we shouldn't chalk it up to him choosing a side, but rather him going with whatever he feels is right.

The little Rumya moment was a sweet surprise. She made him laugh and I loved it.

Nicely analysed. Rudra is a bit of a mystery. shown to be shallow but he is not. He has his way of dealing with the issues. He seems to be sensitive and covers that up with his lame and inane comments which are ignored.
He is witty and quick when it comes to shivika or matter relating to girls. 😆 Rudra adores his mom and is a bit scared of his dad and also mistrustful of him (svetlana).

The Rumya scene was cute and it was sowmya's way of extending an olive branch. Is it the turning point in their relation? seems to be.

Hope he is able to choose sides wisely with his childlike enthusiasm and honesty.

Hey there. This is a nice analysis. 👏

I agree, I don't see what happened in the episode as Rudra choosing Shivaay over Om. He is not choosing sides Despite his personality, he is actually the only one among the brothers that makes decision not based on his emotions. Shivaay is blinded by his loyalty to the family and Om's judgment is skewed by his feelings for his father. Both of them are justified in their beliefs, but a bulk of their opinions are based on feelings rather than reasons.

During the Rakshabandhan episode, Rudra 'sided' with Om, does this mean he chose Om over Shivaay? No. At the time, he genuinely believes that Shivaay was in the wrong for leaving their family function and not telling them where he went to. He wasn't taking sides then, how can people say he's taking sides now?

When they both left Om on his own, they were not abandoning him. Being brothers, they know each other so well. They left Om because Om needed time to deal with his emotions. Pushing the issue with him will only lead to more arguments and it is something both Shivaay and Om will not do in front of Rudra. Shivaay's priority then shifted to taking care of Rudra, as a way to remove himself from the argument as well as get Rudra away from it. Rudra left Om because that is what he has always done to get his brothers to stop arguing. He distracts them by having them focus on him.

Rudra choosing sides is like making a child choose between parents, and I don't think Shivaay and Om will ever make him go through it. It would break his heart.

Wonderful analysis and correct one. After this I guess nobody will say baby takes 'sides' but does what he feels is right!
