Hello friends!
I have been on this forum after a long time.
Offlate the show has been too mediocre and boring but yesterday's episode is worth a review. Since Omiee is my favourite character I have been disappointed since a while as he has been shown as a relationship expert meant to advice/mend relationships.
Without ranting further I would like to speak about last episode which had one of the most debatable topic.
Idealism like Om mentioned and attributed it to being truthful. The writers of Gul shows have always been great but here I feel when it comes to depicting OM's character they seem to be confused as he is intense. I would have loved if Om was given a chance to explain his idea of idealism further. While portraying an intense character it is vital that all his emotions are conveyed to the audiences. I wish he had a personal dairy wherein his thoughts are brought into lime light.
I loved the line wherein he mentions that truth for him is utmost priority even before family. Tej Singh Oberoi is a fraud and has committed a lot of mistakes. OM has stopped acknowledging him as his father and regarding Shivay he is a businessman and there are certain rules and etiquette of business which has to be followed like Om rightly mentioned there has never been any complaint against him. Om has never joined the family business and is a self made man because he rightly chose his path according to his principles.
Everyone of us have our own set of principles which vary from that of others some are meant to become diplomats while some others extremists and we need to make a choice and live together in a society.
I am appaled by the fact that Ishaana has the audacity to question the morality and was predicting the fate of Om in a so called hypothetical future situation wherein he would act as his father. How can anyone make such statements?
What is wrong in calling spade a spade?
What was Om's mistake while he pointed out the upbringing for certain behaviour?
He never said his family is the best. We all know his take on his great family.
Yes it's the upbringing of a person which plays a major role in their behaviour.
No criminal act which is breaching any law of constitution can be covered up on the name of poverty.
If you are poor that doesn't give anyone a right to become a fraud.
When you and your father have literally hified each other and we're proud of your great act, why get annoyed and get all hyper when someone calls you the same?
And what's with questioning the family of accuser if you were right you wouldn't be at the receiving end and cross accusing is no defence.
Sadly I find this character Ishana very boring as she could neither be a quintessential con girl nor comes into the lines of being a serial bahu and the saddest part is she neither fits in the girl next door also.
I feel the best counterpart for Omkara would be Shvetlana as she holds the true potential to balance his intense character.
In dadi's words they are true equals in terms of being idealistic and non idealistic. Shvetlana is a strong character.
Ishana is neither strong nor can play the helpless card perfectly.
PS: Purely my POV not meant to hurt any fandom.
