I don't think it's the problem with the character Ishana, 4lions always had OTT characters, being a follower of most of their shows, I have never un-enjoyed (my own terminology, don't look for a dictionary please) an OTT character, but unfortunately here I am not able to enjoy Ishana's antics because the actress doesn't act it out well. She is all over the place.
No offense to Vrushika's fans, it's just what I feel. Each to their own.

I love Vrushika and I am one of her biggest fans. People call her, the actor OTT, when the character and the whole show is OTT, and I really don't understand that. I have no problem when people say that she needs to improve, cause honestly speak we all know that she isn't the best, however we, her fans can guarantee that once she will get comfortable with the character she will excel, she has done it before and will do it again. As for previous OTT characters and them clicking with the audience, they were the leads of the show, getting maximum screen space and a variety of scenes within a week. Every relationships of there is explorerd and shown, giving them opportunities to prove themselves, and show their versitility. In Vrushika's case she bearly gets scene space, and all her scenes are the same so how do you expect her to prove her versitility as an actor. Comparing with zoya or khushi from other shows isn't fair cause they got maximum footage. They were ott but you also got to see other sides of their characters within the next few scenes of the show which made you connect to them, personally I loved both the characters. WIth Ishana that is not the case, currently they are only showing the ott side of her character, and that too for maximum of 3 mins, so it gets annoying cause it makes you feel that there is not much to the character.. Finally some of her back story is revealed and some of us can start connecting with the character, personally yesterday was the first time I liked and felt for Ishana, also this will give Vrushika the opporunity to start performing as an actor.

But I do feel she has to improve as an actress. Especially with being cast against om who already has a huuuge fan following l naturally expected more form his female lead.

I hope she will get into character in the coming episodes.

As for her being pretty or not that is simply in the eyes of the beholder. I find her rather cute actually.

And the character of ishana isn't that great tbh. Not vrushika but ishana. Please don't get me wrong. I just cant seem to digest the face that someone who Conn's people can be Nice enough to have a heart of gold.

And especially to ppl who say she isn't pretty - who are you kidding with? Like ... enlighten me pls!!! See her Instagram, watch her telly calendar, watch all the ivs given by stylists, makeup artists and photographers regarding Vrushika! Just to let them know, she is a delight to Photographer's Camera. ( It's not me saying btw, photographers say that when they shoot with her :P )

Not just outside beauty, she indeed has a heart of gold! People who follow her know it very well.

Also, she is a bad dancer??? ... lol! I dont have anything to say on this... except that she is known as the DANCING DIVA OF INDIAN TELEVISION ( Not kidding again... reporters and her industry friends call her that :P )

Anyways, its all about patience and giving time. I'm sure she'll take away many hearts with her performance ... ONLY IF PPL GIVE TIME !!
