PART TWO
Thank you guys for showing so much love to the first part!! I am really sorry for the delay in the update. I just got caught up in some stuff at school and work and didn't get time to pen something down. I hope you enjoy this next part just as much you all dos the first part. Enjoy!!!
Shivaay heard his phone ring once again. Without even looking at the caller ID, he knew who it was.
S: Where the hell are you god damn it?!?!?!?!?! I've been looking for you everywhere.
A: Sh...Shi... Shivaay...
Shivaay toned down a bit after he heard her voice, "Anika... Are you okay? Where are you?" A: Shi... Shivaay... I... I'm... The cantee...
And that's when he heard a big explosion. He looked back up to see the college, specifically in the canteen area burst up into flames. He shouted her name and tried to run in to get her out, but again his PA grabbed onto him
S: I SAID LET ME GO!!!!!! (And with that he pushed his PA down to the floor giving him freedom to go into the burning building.)
"ANIKA!! ANIKA!!!" He frantically looked here and there for her. In hope of seeing her or at least some sort of signal that she is in the building. He had completely looking in every corner of the canteen, when he saw a slim hand sticking out from behind one of the beams that fallen over since their foundation had burnt.
Shivay ran and fell next to the hand. The beam was heavy and burning hot, but that didn't slow him down. He quickly threw the beam to the side only to see that the lady wasn't Anika. Shivaay just sat there in shock of not finding her until a piece of the ceiling came flying down and landed next to him. His body flinched as he came back into reality, and picked up the girl to carry her back to safety. As he handed the wounded girl over to the nurses on sight, his shoulders fell. In disappointment. In embarrassment. In guilt. This was all his fault. His big fat ego lead to this day and Anika was in this mess because of him.
S: Anika... Where are you? Please come back.
He took a step forward to keep looking for her, when a felt a steady hand on his shoulder. But it was losing grip of him, he felt it slowly letting go as it slid down his arm. The person had now fallen on the ground on their knees now holding onto his hand leaning their face on his hand. He knew it was her and she was alive. He closed his eyes to let the tears he had been holding in his eyes finally trickle down his face as he turned back and fell onto his knees as well.
He slowly touched her shoulders to make sure she was really there. She was. His hands then caressed her face, he could feel her tears sliding along his hands. Her face had black stains and blood in all places. Her arms were scratched up.
S: ar... Are you okay?
Anika slowly nodded.
S: let's get you to the hospital.
He helped her up and was finally successful after a few minutes of her trying. They tried to take a few steps together, but that was when Anika completely blacked out and fell right through shivaay's grip.
S: Anika? Anika are you okay? Anika? (He looked around for a ward boy, when he spotted one) WARD BOY, COME HERE!!!!
The boys carried her onto the ambulance and Shivaay not once letting go of her side.
*Hospital (few hours later)*
Shivaay's entire clan had gathered up at the hospital. Dadi, Rudra, and Priyanka. Om had gone to sahil with ishana to make sure he was okay. The doctor finally came out.
S: Doctor, how is she? Is she okay? Will she be fine? Is sh...
Doc: calm down Mr. Oberoi. Anika is out of danger, but she got very lucky! Her wounds are very deep. Her vitals are borderline. She has a large amount of burns of all degrees. It will take her quite some time to get back to normal and a huge amount of care and attention. That all being said, we will keep her under observation for the next day and depending on that decide on discharge situations for her.
Dadi: thank you so much Doctor. You are next to God for us for saving her life
Doc: no problem ma'am. This is my job and responsibility.
S: can we see her doctor?
Doc: yea. After we switch her to a ward you may.
*few moments later*
Everyone had surrounded her bed. Waiting for her to wake up. She stirred and everyone got alert.
Everything was blurry for her. She slowly focused everyone around her and noticed everyone was there except him. Anika tried to get up but in vein, she fell back before anyone could catch her. That's when she heard him running over to her.
S: are you guys serious? You're standing right next to her but no one helped...
Ishana: bhaiya, we all tr...
Anika: it's okay ishana. It was my fault. I completely forgot what shape I'm in and over worked myself.
Shivaay turned around to face her. Anger flashing through every side of his face.
S: Shut your god damn mouth!! Do you understand me? Were you in your right mind trying to finish a consignment in the canteen in the middle of the night?
Dadi: Shivaay? Are you kidding me? At least look at where you are if you're not gonna look at what condition she's in. (She looks at Anika) don't listen to this idiot honey. How are you feeling?
Anika: dadi, what can I say now? It hurts everywhere, these doctors didn't do anything.
Everyone smiled to her. She was still so happy and optimistic in such a trying time.
A few moments later a nurse walked in and announced that visiting hours were over and only one person could stay.
Priyanka: I can st...
Rudra held her hand before she could finish and signaled towards Shivaay to tell her what they were all trying to do or else everyone would've volunteered by now. Priyanka also smiled slightly.
S: I... I... I can stay. You all go home, it's getting really late anyways. Omkara, you can take ishana home and Rudra will take dadi and Priyanka.
Everyone said their goodbyes and left. Leaving just the two. Shivaay and Anika.
