Time is one of the most effective medicine of everything, whether the wound is emotional or physical.
Shivaay and Anika met 6 months ago for the first time. Although the meeting was not much pleasant, actually not at all pleasant , but gradually the things started to change for better.
One cannot say that they are good friends yet, but still now they don't hate each other, they don't hate seeing each other faces.
Knowingly or unknowingly they would look forward to meet each other, deep down their hearts they extremely cared for each other. The love was budding somewhere slowly in the corner of their hearts.
Today was Priyanka's 23rd birthday. Few months ago, the Shivaay Singh Oberoi who warned Priyanka to stay away from Anika was the one who was now literally forcing and pushing her to convince Anika to join her birthday celebration which was only for the family members as per the liking of the birthday girl.
After lots and lots of melodrama from the Oberoi's i.e. dadi, Priyanka, Omkara and Rudra, Anika had to nod her head for coming to their family celebration. All four of them knew Shivaay had very strong feelings about Anika. Although the denial mode was still on from side of Shivaay Singh Oberoi, but the mode was gradually fading away. Priyanka somewhat had an idea of Anika feelings, but actually no one was sure that she had feelings for Shivaay, not even Anika herself. And this was major reason of Shivaay denying his feeling for Anika because Shivaay Singh Oberoi hates rejection.
At sharp 7'o clock Anika entered in Oberoi mansion in a red suit. No, she was not looking someone damn beautiful or out of the world but, for Shivaay she appeared to be his world; he could clearly imagine his future beautiful bride entering Oberoi mansion in red bridal lehenga.
As soon as Anika enterd the Oberoi mansion dadi, Priyanka, Rudra and Omkara surrounded her and gave her a warm welcome. Few moments later even Shivaay joined them.
He was still amused how in the short period of 6 months she has slowly made a place in all their hearts. For Priyanka she was her best friend, for Rudra an elder sister .He still couldn't believe Rudra called Anika "DI" and he was eagerly waiting when Rudra would officially address Anika as "BHABHI". For Omkara, a good friend, whom he could confide in whenever needed; many a times he teased Shivaay by referring Anika as BHABHI but still the video of Shivaay and Anika first meeting scared the shit out of him, so he preferred addressing Anika by her name on her face; and ofcourse dadi adored her from the beginning.
As the evening proceeded Anika thought it was not a bad idea of joining Oberoi's for Priyanka's birthday. Everyone was so welcoming including THE SHIVAAY SINGH OBEROI who paid her extra attention today and had not left her side since the evening started. Initially the attention felt overwhelming but as the evening proceeded she started feeling awkward and conscious of Shivaay's attention and long stares. They both were standing admist all the Oberois and feeling as if they were the only one present but, as soon as they felt so Omkara and Rudra joined them.
"you didn't send those yummy aloo ka pratha for me di...I am not talking to you.." said Rudra out of no where
"aloo ka pratha! what are you even saying" said astonished Anika
"oh don't act innocent, last Monday Priyanka brought aloo ka pratha for Omkara and said you made it especially for him"said a pouting Rudra
And two expressive hazel eyes of Shivaay had turned from hazel to red due to jealousy.
"oh that.. Omkara had loved the aloo ka pratha of canteen that day so when I prepared the pratha in the canteen on Monday I thought to send it for him, I never knew even you liked the pratha Rudra" said Anika absolutely not knowing that someone among the five of them was fuming with anger.
"if I did not eat pratha like a earthquake victim then it doesn't mean that I didn't like the pratha" said Rudra
"when you don't get to eat the yummy pratha then the jealousy makes you refer the other person earthquake victim" said Omkara teasingly
As Rudra felt that Omkara was pulling his leg and teasing him he did what he was best at; that melodrama with a pout would make anyone feel guilty.
"you don't consider me as your brother, saying it and actually considering someone as brother are two different things" said Rudra trying to sound as hurt as possible
And the melodrama and pout did it. Anika was so very guilty of not sending pratha for Rudra "I am so sorry Rudra I didn't knew you would be so hurt. I am really sorry and ya I do consider you as my brother really I mean it am not just saying it." Said a guilty Anika
To hell with the pratha's said the inner voice of Shivaay. Here he was thinking to mend their relation a bit and move forward from behaving just like two well-mannered and civilized people behave with each other and here, his beloved brothers had started with their oh so sad story about prathas. He felt like slapping both of them.
"you only consider Rudra as your brother not me, oh I am so hurt" said a playful Omkara
Now a confused Anika didn't knew what to say so she said whatever came to her mind instantly.
"I consider you all as my brother after all my best friend brothers are my brother"
And the damage was done. Shivaay Singh Oberoi lost his patience, the anger which he was trying to control from last fifteen minutes exploded. But he didn't want to create a scene and of course he didn't want to go back to square one again in the case of Anika. So the best option was that he fled away to his room as soon as possible.
As soon as words left Anika's mouth she regretted but the damage was done and seeing Shivaay going to his room made her feel more guilty, upon that she was confused as hell with the Shivaay's reaction and her guilt. Omkara and Rudra were smiling ear to ear seeing Shivaay leaving for his room. Everything went according to their plan.
"oh it is fun teasing Shivaay Singh Oberoi" thought both of them.
Soon priyanka came to see that her best friend was enjoying the evening or not. Omkara and Rudra excused themselves and fled to Shivaay's room and now was the time for the second part of the plan to be in action.
"Shivaay bhaiya are you okay why did you leave the party are you not well?"asked rudra sounding as worried and as innocent possible.
"I am okay you both can leave I am just a bit tried" said Shivaay sounding as polite as possible. He didn't wish to be rude with his dear brothers.
"oh its great you are okay I am so happy and I wanted to share it with you. In fact, both me and omkara are super happy today" said rudra.
"and may I know the reason behind your happiness Rudra and Omkara"said Shivaay sarcastically.
" oh even you should be happy bhaiya. you know we three brothers just had one sister till date but now its two, Anika oh sorry I mean di just told that she considers all three of us as her brother" said a mischievously smiling Rudra.
And the storm broke all the dams "SHUT UP Rudra I do not consider her as my..oh just forget it leave me alone" said a very angry Shivaay.
Omkara tried to intervene and pacify Shivaay .He knew they went little too far away with this sister thing "but, Shivaay just listen once why are you suddenly so angry?'
"let me make one thing very clear to both of you BHAI NAHI HOON MAIN USKA .." growled the lion within Shivaay.
As soon as the words left Shivaay's mouth he could see his brother smiling ears to ears.
"hum dono toh anika ke bhai hain to phir tum kyun nhi Shivaay" said Omkara teasingly.
It did not take much time for Shivaay to understand that it was one of their stupid prank. And the history changed, instead of getting angry of the prank Shivaay decided to play along.
"actually even you both are not Anika's brother. in fact, you both are her would be brother-in-law. Aur haan tum dono Anika ko bhabhi kehne ki aadat dal lo." Said Shivaay haughtily. Now it was his turn to see his brothers clean bowled faces.
