I know for a fact that every single soul who watched this, felt the suffering and torturous pain inflicted upon Zara and Kabeer.
I chose this song because as the lyrics tell us, it's about pure love, true love. Despite the number of hardships they face, whether or not they see the dawn of the next day. The universe is a witness of their eternal and everlasting love.
The first dialogue of kabeers
' Humari zara' was said with such haq, he's realised that she is his reason to live.
And he also knows that he holds a farz to make sure she lives, to protect her always,
'Zara daarna maat, hum hai na tumhe Bacha ne'
Even though he's quickly sinking into unconsciousness the only thing that is repeated in his mind is that he needs to save her
'Kabeer tum kui aye yaha, agar tumhe kuch ho gaya you hum nahi seh paen Gaye.'
'Tum marna hi chaati ho toh Hume maaro kabeer ko chor do.' Again she emphasises on how she cares for nothing but Kabeer.
The way they both fight against all the forces between them and run towards eachother is priceless.
The hug! The hug of yearn... need I say more?
'Hum tumhe maar te hue nahi dekh sakte, itni himaat nahi hai hum main zara.' This part was so beautifully protrayed. Kabeer finally letting his tough exterior break to reveal the vunerablity within. He can't bear to live in a world without her. He doesn't have the strength to see her die right infront of him. His existence is dependant on hers. Without Zara there is no Kabeer.
And this is reinforced again. This time vice versa. Without kabeer, zara reveals that there's no reason for her to continue living.
'Agar tum hum se pehle maar jao gaye toh kise maare gi ye, humare be jaan jism no? '
She can't bear to live alone in a world where he isn't present by her side. Her soul is ready to depart with him for without him there is no Zara.
'Ae Malik zara ki hifazat karna' his dua for her is from his heart, sache dil se di hui dua humesha qubool hoti hai. And yes his prayer was answered.
'Allah Hafiz'
The last words he thought he would ever say to her. He looked her in the eyes with such intensity and love as if he was savouring this last moment. her dua is heard, and Allah saves him too. Even in the darkest of times destiny can be changes as a result of prayer.
The next scene will always remain etched in my heart...
'Aaj nahi pucho gi zara... mohabbat ya farz?' He asks with he motive to reveal the truth.
'Mohabbat ya farz?'she knows the answer but she needs to hear his voice again- perhaps it's the last time she will ever get to.
'Sirf mohabaat' he answers with no hesitation, no second guessing... proving his love her is true and real and will remain forever...
