OS 02 :Consort

Ishani looked at the vial of poison. The green color was always a favorite to her. It always brought happiness to her.And today, it will give her ultimate peace. She will rightfully restore everything that belonged to Vansh bhai. Even his wife. She might not have any feeling for Riddhima, but she belonged to her Vansh bhai and she wouldn't let anyone take his place in her life. Even if Riddhima herself wanted it, not even then. Especially then.

She mixed the poison in the sweets that were meant for her. Riddhima can't refuse puja offerings, right ? Ishani thought to herself. Should she put few extra drops just to be sure, so that no way Riddhima survives ?

Is that really necessary Ishani ?

Ishani closed her eyes in irritation.

What’s with this man and his silent presence everywhere ? How he manages to reach anytime anywhere without making a single sound. As if he had always been there, behind the darkness. Waiting for the right moment to pounce.

What are you doing here Aangre ? Ishani retorted

It is my business when it comes to you Ishani, and no matter how much you deny I will never stop caring for you.

And that one line managed to snap the hell out of Ishani.

Oh really? Really Aangre ? You care for me ? If you actually cared for me then tell me, where is my Vansh bhai ? Why isn’t he alive ? Didn’t you know he is my biggest happiness? How is this possible you are here and he isn’t ? Weren’t you supposed to be his shield ?Saving him from everything ? How come you are clueless about his death and breathing whereas everyone has moved on from my Vansh bhai. How Aangre ? How???

Ishaani shouted at the top of her voice. Aangre with calm and composed step came near her and put his both hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

And you think killing off Riddhima bhabi will be giving justice to Vansh bhai ?

If Ishani was shocked how he understood, she didn’t show it as now she is used to with it. She hates to admit but this man somehow always gets her.

She shrugged his hand and look coldly in his eyes.

You know everything, yet Vansh bhai had to die. We are having to witness this circus called Kabir ki shaadi. Why are you even here Aangre ? Just to know everything and do nothing ? What’s the point of this knowledge ?

Aangre sighed. This woman would drive him nuts. There is no way he could distract her. After all she was Vansh Raisinghania’s sister. That sharp mind runs in their vein and it was stupid of him to think he could make her forget the issue.

It was time to let the Knight know what’s this Bishop is actually thinking.

He held her hand and made her it on their bed.

Ishani was still fuming but followed Aangre nonetheless. Not because she cared, but all those shouting was making her feel bit breathless.

Ishani I know you do not trust me a bit, but try to understand what I am trying to say. And just answer only the things I ask you. Nothing else. Aangre carefully breached the topic.

Ishani looked at him one raisedeyebrows.

Aangre sighed.

When was the last time you saw Riddhima bhabi smiling ?

And the fire was back on her eyes again.

You made me sit here to count her smiles? If it was up to me, she wouldn’t even know what smiling is. That girl..

Ishaanii…. Aangre warned.

Ishaani closed her eyes in annoyance.

I guess on Karvachauth I am not sure. Not that I care either.

Did you see her at all after Vansh bhai’s death.Didn’t you find her lost and walking like a corpse ?

Ishaani so wanted to argue but unfortunately whatever Aangre said was true.

Yes, she was. And that’s where she made us a fool.

Didn’t you find it weird that the girl who slapped Kabir two hour before just because some sindoor fell on her mistakenly, agreed to marry him? Of course you can’t be that fool not to notice the hurt in her eyes or the hatred when she looks at Kabir.

Where are you going with this ? Ishani was done with chit chatting

That’s like a true Raisinghania, Aangre thought. They understands the catch really easily.

What I am trying to say is this isn’t as normal as it seems. Vansh Bhai’s sudden demise, Siya slipping into coma, Kabir’s entry in house and Riddhima Bhabi’s restlessness since then…all these can’t be just a coincidence. You do not trust me, but at least you can trust your Vansh bhai. If I didn’t have enough caliber to stand beside with him and to understand the situation before anyone, you think he would have let me in the house, let alone making me a family ?

Ishaani fell silent. Because whatever Aangre said is absolutely true. Vansh Bhai trusted Aangre more than his own shadow. And if Aangre is saying something is wrong, something is wrong.

Seeing Ishani silent, Aangre spoke again.

Even I am angry with Bhabi for agreeing to marry Kabir and going through all the rituals. But more than that I am angry because she is not letting anyone in. I am not saying she isn’t at fault. All I am saying is there is a bigger game that we are unable to see. And one stupid move from our side can turn dangerous for us. So we have to be really careful. We can’t bear losing someone from our family again just because we aren’t careful.

Aangre held her hand and gently stroked.

I know Ishani it is hard. But just don’t make any mistake that makes you regret later on. For not giving anyone a fair chance to prove themselves. Just like you weren’t given chance to show how much you loved Vansh bhai.

Aangre concluded

Ishani looked at Aangre with eyes full of tears. Out of all the people she didn’t expect Aangre to calm her down and tell her exactly what she needed to hear. It’s true she had a mansion full of family members but hardly anyone got through her and could understand the real Ishani who craved nothing but to be understood and loved. But Aangre, the receiver of her most harsh behavior, somehow managed to crack her and understood exactly the turmoil she was going through. For the first time in life, Ishaani didn’t feel alone.

Ishani threw herself on Aangre. As if he knew, like everything else, exactly what she would do next, took her in his embrace like this was their regular routine.
But this time Ishani didn’t care. All she cared for the warmth that had been missing within her since days. And she is going to take it all.

Unknown to her, here Aangre was going through a storm inside him. It broke him inside to see her like this. His crazy tempered wife might fight everyone like a tigress, but he has seen and known the vulnerability inside her. And he can perfectly understand how lonely she had been feeling. But no matter what he couldn’t let her know the truth. The truth that will change everything. But he couldn’t see her sad either. So he had handed her a few catch to dwell on. It would momentarily keep her busy. She might hate him when it comes out, but all he cared is this moment. His wife was in his embrace for the first time. He loved her since the day he saw her first. And having her like this in his arm was a distant dream that he thought only possible in his rarest dream. It clenched his heart thinking they would be at loggerheads once the truth comes out. But till then he would live in this moment.

I had planned to have a conversation of Aangre and Ishani guiding her through to understand the reality when I read about Ishaani hiding the mangalsutra. The idea was there, thanks to today's episode got the idea how to pen it down ^_^
